She's not a therapist that just parrots back what you say and validates all your thoughts even if they are irrational. Dr. Semmes has an amazing way of building relationships (even with unruly, bitchy young people like myself) and finding the correct therapy to address your needs. I had major trauma that I couldn't move past. Dr. Semmes recommended EMDR, a specialized therapy for trauma, and I cannot thank her enough! After a few sessions I finally felt relief. Talking with her always helps me overcome whatever obstacle I am facing. Dr. Semmes has been my therapist over the last decade and I can honestly say I will keep her for life. Originally she was covered under my insurance which made billing/funding easier but even though she's not now, she is well worth an out of pocket expense.
