Whatever you do, don't book this cleaning service. I really, really wish I had read these reviews before sending my deposit, and tipping the cleaning lady in advance as I was walking out the door. My experience is almost exactly similar to many of the comments here. -- Great communication when reserving -- bad/poor cleaning job -- follow up with Grace (runs the scheduling) and customer did something wrong. Read the comments. There's always some wrinkle/excuse that makes not meeting a minimum cleaning standard the customer's fault I made arrangements for 2 people to clean our home / and only one showed up. After she left, I had to wipe floors, dust, vacuum, and more. The blinds weren't wiped, kitchen cupboards weren't cleaned, mirror in bathroom was smudged... I could go on and on. There was essentially no point or value in hiring these people. read more

Wow, just like other reviewers on this company this owner has flat out lied in her response to my review. 1) I don't even have a china cabinet. Maybe you should get your facts straight instead of making them up. You also only pay your employees $11/hour to clean someones house, yet charge your customers $40/hr. http://www.indeed.com/cmp/Madison-Cleaning-Services/jobs/House-Cleaning-Office-Cleaning-e5552859b417141f?q=madison+cleaning Maybe you should look take a look at your business practices and who you hire before trying to blame your customer base for the failure of your business. read more

I called because I'm selling my house and wanted a 'deep cleaning' before our open house. The woman I spoke to was nice, cheerful and knowledgeable. Fully understood what I needed assured me she could help. She wanted my credit card to secure the appointment. I think I got the "B" team. Very little English spoken, they were there an hour early, I was not dressed yet. They did an adequate cleaning if they had been coming weekly, but I didn't think they got the deep cleaning concept. I mopped the floors and vacuumed after they left, re-cleaned the bathroom walls and floors. A mediocre job. Oddly, they didn't ask about money, they just left. My card was charged without my permission or knowledge. I did hear from the original woman I had spoken to, she offered to send them again, but the open house was in progress. I just chalked it up to way too typical service where just getting by is good enough. I wouldn't use Madison Cleaning service again nor would I recommend them. read more

Charged credit card with an unauthorized exorbitant amount that was not even to close to what was agreed or delivered. Cleaning people were slow and they did not do a thorough job (mold in shower, had to vacuum after they left and there was still grime on walls- which I communicated to the manager) - 5 people only cleaned one bedroom and two small bathrooms (150sqft) and they took 3 hours but the company charged for what was supposed to be cleaning for almost the entire house. Manager/Owner was unreasonable and difficult when told of the issue and would not agree to adjusting the charges fairly. She threatened to turn the unauthorized amount they charged to collections and was not understanding. Reported the unauthorized charge to credit card company and posted issue with BBB. Awful experience- do not trust this company. read more

We recently switched from a big-name cleaning service for our office / warehouse (mixed space) cleanings. Some areas were very, very dirty from neglect over a 2 year period. Grace and her team did a great job of deep cleaning (initially) and keeping up with a thorough cleaning regularly. I am very happy with the quality of the work, and the flexibility of this local business to work with us effectively. read more

Owner told us to "fuck off" after I posted this original review as follows....DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! Unless of course you want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a barely good enough clean. They quoted us MULTIPLE times 40$ and hour for an initial deep clean. Then when it can down for the total they tell us "40$ an hour PER PERSON" I'm sorry what? That's horrendous, but I would have paid it had the clean actually been worth anything close to that. But it wasn't. Not to mention they were supposed to show up between 8-9AM didn't show until 3:30pm and rushed through the clean so they could get out of there. I told them it would probably take 5-6 hours because of the size and due to the fact we have dogs. But of course no one wants to be cleaning someone's home until 9pm. Therefore they rushed through and didn't EVEN DUST, and didn't pick up anything to vacuunderneath just pushed it around with the vacuum! And they want 80$ and hour for what they did? And then to top it off it took them over a week to get back to us when I came to them with my complaints and said "we will knock 80$ off for being late" ugh absolutely horrible and disappointing. The only reason I'm updating this review is because the OWNER of this company decided to text my husband and "complain" about my review. Calling me a LIAR and saying we refused to pay them when in fact we did nothing of the sort. The ONLY reason they hadn't been paid was because it took them A WEEK AND A HALF to get back to us when I called to complain about the price being misquoted AND I mentioned how I was unsatisfied with the work they did as they didn't dust or vacuum well like I mentioned above. Then the owner wants to say I'm a liar and never mentioned being unhappy? I'm sorry if whoever I voiced my complaint to didn't express it to you but that's not my problem. It's yours and you DO NOT get to call me a liar. And you definitely don't get to tell me to "fuck off" and that I need to take my review down. I attached pictures of a few of the texts the owner sent my husband. Keep in mind she conversed with him for HOURS and it was more of the same....being rude, disrespectful and COMPLETELY unprofessional. read more

I've had a lot of cleaning services come and help and and this is by far the worst. It took many tries to reach Grace and when I did, she was abrupt and rude. When her crew showed up----very late----they were the creepiest bunch I'd ever dealt with. They did a horrible job, many of the basics were left undo---i.e. cleaning bathroom mirrors, sweeping in places, etc. I didn't feel comfortable having this service in my house and you could tell they were terrified of Grace....who they had to sit and wait for to get a ride. Just really a bad experience, even with my Groupon. read more

Horrible horrible person!!!!! Booked a cleaning weeks in advance. She lied and claimed that she called me 4 times to "confirm" the cleaning the day prior. She did not. She didn't show up at my place after I took off work for the appointment. She hung up with me on the phone and told me to get a refund. Stay away from these horrible people!!! read more

If you are looking for a professional cleaning service I suggest you look elsewhere. Horrible, horrible customer service and the cleaning job was so bad that I actually had to clean the house myself. Grace (the owner) does not deserve to have any repeat business as she treats her customers like dirt. P.S. read the filtered reviews...there are other people who have had the same experience! read more

Grace and her cleaning ladies do a great job cleaning my home that gets very messy. When they arrive, my house is so messy w/ clothes and books and various things laying around. My house also gets dusty. We love going back to our home after the cleaning ladies are done - the house smell so fresh and everything looks so clean and they even organize!!! The work they do for us is worth the money because they work hard and do a very good thorough job. Having gone through 4 different cleaning companies before, I've been very satisfied w/ Madison Cleaning Services. read more

Hit and miss. My previous experience was great, but over time the service tapered. Ultimately I took a few months off of regular cleaning and when I called again the price doubled, only without any forewarning or proactive communication as previously stipulated. Won't be returning. read more

HUGE WARNING -- Shyster Alert!! We employed Madison to clean a "studio apartment" (1 bath, kitchen and studio space, 695 sq ft) and the cost was to be $160.00. This was more than we've paid in the past, but it was a weekend so we accepted-- it was to be done on Saturday afternoon. My husband waited downtown at the unit for over two hours and they did not show. Finally they agreed to show up Sunday. The ladies (2) did the job on Sunday morning...and the hardwood floors looked good, but the glass light fixtures were left full of dust. We were okay with everything as we had renters moving in same day. NOW, the company is harassing us daily to charge an additional $160 --for a total of $520 to clean a studio. The sad thing is we would have probably used them again, as we like to have a consistent cleaning company. Not now!! Every day they harass us (it's AWFUL!) and we have never been charged that much in the past!! Normally we have paid $125 to clean the studio. Pass on this company -- we don't know what they are hoping for with this harassment behavior!! Bad customer relations! Never again. 7.14.17 Madison Cleaning did the right thing and charged my credit card the $160 that I had originally agreed to pay. read more

My experience was not as I had hoped. First set of gals that cleaned didn't clean and they over charged me. called grace the owner , she sent a new set of girls and did a r clean. Job wax well done but after asking how I would be repaid my overage I was told I received a 400.00 clean . This company reminds me if a bait and switch, looks nice at first but then the true self comes out. I Left with buyers remorse and feeling ripped off. I would and will not use them nor recommend ever! read more

BEWARE! This is the biggest joke of a cleaning company around. I saw them advertised through Groupon but did not buy the coupon. Instead I called them to schedule an estimate and cleaning. It is my own fault I did not have them come to the house and inspect prior to starting to clean. I spoke with Grace on the phone and she seemed nice enough. I stated I had a 2500+ sqft house and it was a mess form top to bottom, kids, and pets. She gave me an estimate of 4-6 hours for the deep cleaning and said her people would show up the next day between 12-1. The next day no one showed up and no one called, after calling and calling i finally got Grace on the phone and she assured me they would be there by 3. At 430 I pulled into my driveway and here were two girls sitting out front of my house smoking cigarettes in their car. needless to say the last thing I want in a cleaning company is someone who stinks like cigarettes cleaning my house. However, I had no choice since I was the one who procrastinated and I really needed the house cleaned by Thanksgiving. Huge mistake because the cleaners took 4 hours to do the bedroom and bathroom only and Grace showed up and cleaned the kitchen for an hour. They left floors uncleaned, toilets dirty, and garbage for me to take out. Needless to say i stopped the cleaning there and paid for the service completed although was a complete ripoff. To top it off, Grace sends me an email using every excuse in the books of why I fired her. How pathetic she can't see through her mess of poor service and support. I hope more people speak up about this shady business. Whats interesting is one of the girls who cleaned our house was named Michelle and the only positive review on this site is form a Michelle. This is seems pretty suspicious if you ask me. STAY AWAY, SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH A PROFESSIONAL FRANCHISE CLEANER.... read more

I regret wasting my money on this cleaning service. I had the exact same experience as one of the commenters below: I purchased a livingsocial deal that was supposed to include four hours of deep cleaning. When they showed up, it was two young men, and they explained to me that it would only be two hours, since there were two of them. They 'finished' in under two hours and did a very surface-level cleaning job. Upon close inspection, they left major things undone: in the shower, they didn't touch the shower caddy, which was clearly badly in need of cleaning. They didn't clean the shutters aside from a cursory dusting in one room, even though I explicitly asked them to clean the shutters throughout the house. They didn't touch the ceiling fans and overhead light fixtures even though there was dust and cobwebs readily apparent (the website indicates that this is part of the service). They didn't even attempt to clean under easily accessible beds in my children's rooms. They missed other surfaces completely, including easily accessible shelves. They didn't take out the trash as the website indicates they would. They did a terrible mopping job, leaving obvious marks untouched. I called Grace twice the same day and she did not return my call. I then called again the next day and explained my concerns. She agreed that it did not sound as if they had done a thorough job, and she said that she would call me and come over the following day to complete the job. Not surprisingly, I never heard from her again. Completely unprofessional and a waste of money. read more

I was shopping for Cleaning service for some time and found MCS. Danielle was very nice and polite. There was misunderstanding in my requirement. I asked for one person/hr cleaning and it was accepted. Since we are starting business I didn't want to stretch too much on other expenses. I also had mentioned that I will not be at office and there will be someone to have the office open when the cleaning service is there. Danielle agreed and i thought everything was understood. As mentioned they came, cleaned and left. I was happy until the invoiced amount came in which was double than promised. I called back, again Danielle answered the call , I explained the concern, she apologized (she was still polite and soft). But she said there is nothing she could do with her limits and said her Boss will call me. I waited and called back. Apparently Ms.Grace had been busy. She called me back next day with harsh and rude tone. She started yelling at me with Job ethics. How I don't know her job as she doesn't know mine bla bla, I said my concern is not the money, it is the policy, what was said wasn't the same as that was in action. i wanted to straighten that out so we could continue their service monthly. (I went by Danielle's hospitality and good CS) But Grace wasn't ready to listen to my concerns. All she wanted to do was yell at me. (may be she got my race from my accent??) and she said she could end up giving that as gift, I said I don't need a gift but service, BUT she hung up on me even before I completed the sentence. I am terribly disappointed. It isn't the money it is the way people run the business and treat people. Very poor Management ( no blame on employees) I wish to give less than one star. there is no choice. Unfortunately I read all the reviews after the fact and I read all her response, it sounds rude to me as well. for one of the response to AMANDA, she herself said she hung up on the client, who would do such kind of business?. And she expects the client to call her back? who is doing business here? what does Business ethics mean? I am lost. My review here is my own experience and I DONT want to see her response. read more

My mother in-law has been using Madison Cleaning Services for years. When it came time for my wife and I to purchase our home, her mom recommended that we try Madison. Her team did an excellent job cleaning the home just prior to moving in. We've kept them on a three-week schedule for regular cleaning. They're always on time and are very courteous. I also have begun using Madison Cleaning for deep cleaning my rental properties after a tenant moves out. They seem to be a good value and I've had tenants leave my places quite a mess! read more

We needed a new cleaning service, so I bought a living social deal for Madison Cleaning. After a lengthy phone conversation regarding the details of my house, including the fact that I have a dog, the crew arrived on-time but had to reschedule because one of the cleaners was allergic to my dog. It then took over a week to reschedule the cleaning. The arrival window was 12:30-1:30, and the team arrived at 1:30, only to sit in the car for 15 minutes and eat lunch. After the team left, I walked around to see how they did and found that they had not vacuumed the upstairs. Weird!!! What type of cleaning doesn't include a vacuum? When I finally spoke with someone about the cleaning, she tried to tell me something about the types of vacuums they use that made absolutely no sense. She then called back later to say she would send someone back out to vacuum, but I declined the offer. I did still owe some money after the living social was applied, and was fine paying the difference. It's a good thing I kept track of when they arrived and left because she tried to tell me that I owed her another $200. It was actually $80. And still after all this, I realized the team broke the light switch in my bedroom. It's not a typical light switch, but has two separate dials, one for the fan and one for the light. They clearly tried and tried to figure it out until it broke, so now we're stuck with a broken switch. After a "sorry about your switch, but nothing like that has ever happened with one of our teams before," they proceeded to charge the full $80 to my card. Definitely not the customer service I would ever choose to deal with again and would not recommend this company. read more

I have definitely had better service at a lower price, with non-toxic chemicals used. I prefer green cleaners but wanted to give them a try since I saw a livingsocial deal for them. They are not upfront about what you get- the deal says 4 hours, and it really means 2 hours with 2 people...one of the cleaners was great and hard working and very nice, the other did not do much and stood around while the other one was cleaning. I also had spoken to Grace about the 4 hour cleaning and she did not schedule us correctly, and insisted I was the one who was wrong, and when I asked questions about what I would receive for the coupon- she said a very deep, full clean- they even do the baseboards... well that might be true if you are a typical customer I suppose, but not for us, it was a cursory clean- and they barely had time to wipe down the floors. The bathroom floors did not look touched. I was very disappointed since I was hoping to find a lasting relationship with a cleaner to use in the future but I will not use them again. read more

Bought this thru a Living Social Deal. 2 Guys showed up yesterday fairly on time and did the worst cleaning imaginable!!! They only had to do Master bedroom, hallway and 2 full bathrooms upstairs. (1 was a guest bath), stairway and small landing, kitchen, living/dining room combo, half bath and family room on first floor. Their idea of dusting is to use a Swiffer on wood and didn't bother to wipe off couch or chairs at all. Did a hit and miss on first floor vacuuming and did NOT vacuum upstairs or stairs at all. Did not wash master bath floor or do the mirrors, Soap dish was not touched nor was the toothbrush holder. When talking to Grace to set up appt, I told her I was doing this as I had company coming and no time to do a through cleaning on my own. I'm just glad that I did the guest rooms myself as I spent time that afternoon either finishing what they started or completely doing something they didn't. I emailed Grace last night and Living Social this morning. LS response was basically to bad, you're past refund time and Grace did not get back to me. I can't tell you how dissappointed I am. If you use them, make sure to watch them and don't take for granted that they did the job you expect read more

I am very happy with the cleaning my rental received from this company. Elizabeth and Diego arrived on time. They listened carefully to what I wanted and worked very hard the entire time they spend at the home. Diego was able to get stains out of my tile that I was sure was ruined. I was very dissatisfied with this service. The only positive thing I can say is that they were able to come last minute (maybe because no one else is using them?) I specifically asked the receptionist what I could expect to be cleaned, it included dusting, floors, cleaning appliances including inside the refrigerator and generally making your home spotless. To my understanding, I was paying for an initial deep, detailed clean, but that is very far from what I received. When I came home, my house did not even smell clean. They didn't clean the bathroom floors, they didn't clean/dust the baseboards, they didn't dust the ceiling fan or the walls that very clearly had dust bunnies, they left a mess on the basement carpet and they did not clean the refrigerator as I was expecting. I was left wondering exactly what they were doing here for 4 hours. I spent 2.5 hours cleaning after I hired them to do the job. This company is NOT worth the money. read more

My wife and I are very disappointed with this company. We recently decided to sell our house and wanted to do a deep cleaning. My wife, who is in her 3rd trimester of pregnancy, called Madison Cleaning Services to set up an appointment. She was advised that 2 cleaners would be coming out. Only one showed up and she was late. I explained what I wanted done, but her English was poor. The second cleaner showed up over 2 hours later and stated that this wasn't her typical job, and the experienced cleaner called out sick. They took a very long time to clean 3 rooms. What was supposed to be a 3 hrs job turned into 7 hrs + hours. We had to tell them to leave because they were taking too long and not doing a good job. Not only did they clean the parts that we did not want them to clean, they also did major damage to the sink and stove. The sink spray was kicked off the sink's counter because one of the girls was standing on the counters cleaning the light fixture. She definitely kicked it pretty good, probably not intentionally, for the entire spray hose to disconnect from the sink's counter top. The damage on the stove was extreme, it turned our stove top where the knobs are blackish grey and had stained streaks from their cleaning supply. We were days from our house going up on the market and our stove looked like it had been burnt! It was a pain attempting to contact them to discuss the issue since they wouldn't return phone calls for days. They eventually agreed to come out and try to fix the stain, but they were late again. They couldn't fix the stain and added more damage to the stove by trying to scrape it with a sharp object. After over a month of going back and forth with them, Grace, the owner finally agreed to replace the stained piece of the stove which we were satisfied with. We gave them the model serial number, and unfortunately, the piece for the stove was no longer available, so she said that she would replace the entire stove. They came and took the old stove and replaced it with a new one. Shortly after the replacement, my wife received degrading text messages from the owner, saying what a scam artist she is. First off, we did not ask for a new stove, we were perfectly happy with our stove that was in great working condition. Second, her employee damaged our property and your company guarantees 100% customer satisfaction, and is insured and bonded; therefore, Grace-the owner, needs to be accountable for her employees when they damaged client's property. We called for cleaners to come over to clean due to my wife's pregnancy, not come and damage my stuff especially prior to selling my house. Furthermore, Grace text messaged my wife degrading and incriminating text messages calling her a scam artist. My wife asked her to call her as it was extremely unprofessional to text message a client those type of text messages NONSTOP for an hour. She refused to talk to my wife on the phone; however, she had an hour or so to continue text messaging my wife and sending her photos of our stove that her husband tore apart. So much time wasted going back and forth with this company. What a headache! I do not recommend them to anyone. Grace is hard to work with and not responsive. In addition, instead of owning up to problems her staff created she goes on about how perfect her staff is and how they could have never created such damage to a stove. However, in a prior conversation with Grace she stated they had to replace an oven door from a stove that was damaged due to one of her employees. This place and the owner are not professional and do not respect your time or your property. Buyer beware. If you decide to use Madison cleaning we hope you have a better experience. Our sink spray is still broken, but we are no longer wasting our time pursuing Grace for damages as it's not worth our time to deal with such unprofessional people like Grace and her team. read more
