When there's standing water in your basement - who you gonna call? SERVPRO!…read more Ghosts are pretty bad, but flooding can cause more long-term damage. When our basement had some unfortunate circumstances due to negligent painters, insurance recommend SERVPRO to handle the first response call. They came out on a Sunday (after taking my frantic call Saturday afternoon) to assess the situation. The drained the water, ripped out carpet, baseboards, and drywall. They also set up industrial fans in each room and, upon request, a plastic barrier between the doorway leading from our upstairs kitchen to the basement stairs. That way workers could still get to the lower level by entering in from our side door. However our upstairs would be sectioned off from almost two months of work to come. After setting up and cleaning up Sunday, SERVPRO came back every day for about a week to check moisture levels and readjust fans to dry out the wet walls. They also sent someone to do an asbestos test and check for mold. Luckily we did not have either. Our basement eventually dried, after 5-6 days and it's inhabitable once again. Insurance paid them directly and we were given all clear to bring in a contractor. That's a whole other review, but SERVPRO did a great job with the first big steps.

No reasonable payment plan was provided for the expensive service. While they offered two payments, they had to both be made in two weeks time frame from invoice being serviced or else face threat of lein. The notice of the lein was not given until a week prior to application of the lein.

CONS: I have no idea how she spent those 4 hours, because I had to spend the entire weekend scrubbing the things she missed. I hired Traci (based on great Yelp reviews) to deep clean an apartment the landlord had not cleaned well (pre-move in). The place is old and imperfect... I knew going into it that it probably wouldn't sparkle, but told her that I was primarily interested in a good scrub to remove the grime and gunk left in the kitchen, bathroom, and on the light switches. When she was done and it came time to inspect, I was shocked to find the amount of things that were missed, including a large, dried puddle of stuck-on goo in one of the cabinets, left by a previous tenant. This is something super gross and in plain sight. I am seriously astounded that this was overlooked after 4 hours of deep kitchen cleaning. I then pointed out some stuck on grime under the stove ledge (which I had pointed out during the initial walk through). Her response? "Yeah, I don't think I can do much with that... You could probably get it off with some Goo Gone"............. I thought that is what I was paying YOU for!!!!!! Bottom line: this company may be fine for some light dusting or vacuuming in a well maintained home, but AVOID if your job requires elbow grease of any kind.
