A Teenage server is repeatedly heard on numerous nights barking out "waddaya want" to people waiting on their dinner, The dining room is never prepared, and there are some nights when a resident is completely forgotten: The cooks refuse to do their job until the final second with commitment: The kitchen and Dining room often rushing to close, without actually finishing up the days tasks.

There were easily accessible outdoor gardens, safe and secure. I appreciated having them available to my daily use. There was always an activity going on, inviting to all who were interested. I simply cannot forget Ice Cream Fridays. Definitely among the highlights of my week. The staff always had special goings-on. Circus was one week that was fun. While I was there they had a singer for that days entertainment, and they celebrated the March birthdays with cake and punch and more songs. The place seemed like a wonderful home and I'm thinking about it for my mother. While I was touring I saw the schedule of events for the month, it looks like there are tons of things to do everyday there, from bingo, to trivia, exercise classes, prayer groups and so much more. My favorite thing about Savannah Grand was the court yards, they were so beautiful and peaceful.

My Dad was constantly falling and injuring himself which shows me he was not being watched. I was extremely worried about my father's health and the overall standard of care. He seemed to have declined faster in his dementia at this facility. Once he was moved to another facility, my father is now blossoming. If you care for your loves ones. Don't send them here!!

What I really wanted to harp on is the service. Putting your family member into homes like these can be very disconcerting -- are they taking care of her? Feeding her properly? Giving her love and attention? YES! Peace of mind is something too valuable in instances like these. My grandmother is currently staying here, and she is treated wonderfully. Her hairstyles change more often then mine, and her nails are always groomed/painted. The staff knows her by name, and are able to make considerate conversation, if only momentarily. Your loved one will be well taken care of here, and that, is invaluable.

I deliver food for Meals on Wheels every Wednesday and never once have they dropped the ball in any way. Every person working in the organization that I have met is caring and compassionate. The attention to food quality blows me away. They strictly follow a protocol that is impressive. The hot and cold food temperature is checked and rechecked before being placed into appropriate travel containers for my use. The containers are cleaned after every use. Sanitation is very important. The entire organizations concern over the well being of those being served is honorable. Everybody on the food delivery route is known and cared for by name. A wellness check is a priority along with a hot and cold meal. This is a great organization and one that asks each volunteer to commit to one year of service. It is a worthy cause and this is an awesome place to be involved with.
