When She fell for second time there, I was asked if I was going to come pick her up and take her to hospital. I insisted that they call ambulance and bring her to hospital even when they said they put her back in bed and she wasn't complaining of hurting anymore. After she arrived via ambulance it was found her door was locked to keep other patients out of her room and she had fallen sometime that night to 10am when she was checked on. Her hip was broken and she had a brain bleed. I lost her less than two weeks later. Often I would be the one cleaning her room, bringing her food for her that she liked, and showering her. I did her laundry because the other residents laundry was washed with hers. I had started looking another facility but it was too late. The staff there were doing the best they could but often only one person was working by themselves with what help from staff in the assisted living facility next door could give. The fire alarm and doors were not functioning properly from November 2023 and still were not compliant when she left there in April 2024 after her fall. They had 4 star reviews.

Vista Lake Assisted Living:…read more (almost entirely 100% dependent care, memory impaired residents), has very inexperienced cooks, that cannot cook food because they never have been trained on how to cook food. Examples: (1) Spaghetti is no sauce and no spices because the cook does not know spaghetti comes with sauce and spices. (2) Toasted cheese sandwich, (often having burnt bread), may have a light sprinkle of crushed cheese, shaken out of a bottle, instead of having a slice of cheese because the cook does not know you never serve burned food, and that you put a slice of cheese in the toasted bread. A 12 year old child could cook much better food. Food is often burned, often served late, and often served real tough to eat because it is not correctly prepared and cooked for seniors. Sometimes the food is served as hot spicy as Thai food. The food has evolved into being the cheapest food to possibly make to save money. Often the same food is repeated through the week. Salads and soups were ended to save even more money. Some of the nurses and aides may not be nice to the residents because they are not trained on how to work with seriously demented seniors, which is almost everyone living there. Management is poor because resident complaints to the management are not solved. The so called activities person is often gone. The main activities are chair exercises and bingo, something simple, (very inexpensive to do). There are no bus trips. The rooms are small but they are very nice. There is no staff trained emergency call button system in place. You can pull the cord in your room but rarely is it answered. This place is run as inexpensive as possible for the maximum profit for the owners. Do not ever expect Vista Lake Assisted Living to ever follow C.D.C. guidelines of any infectious airborne disease. Since March 2020, since SARS 2, and variants, this place is almost entirely no masks worn over the mouth and nose by almost all residents and staff, with poor hand washing.

My family was so lucky to have found Pat's Serenity Home Care!…read more My 85 year old mom had dementia, was falling down a lot, and became too much for my dad to handle. We first met Pat and Michael on their wedding anniversary and they canceled their plans to take my mom in their lovely home the same day. They provided snacks and healthy home cooked meals, activities to help keep my mom and other residents engaged, and top notch care around the clock. Pat & Michael rented a van over Christmas and took my mom out to see the pretty lights. They celebrated her birthday with flowers, presents and decorated their house. During a hurricane warning, they invited my dad to come stay with them. My family and I were always welcome to visit and stay however long we wanted. They regularly sent us pictures and texts to let us know how my mom was doing, which was really sweet. Being in a private, loving home is so much more welcoming than a sterile facility. Towards the end of my moms life, Pat was feeding my mom every meal and trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. They treated my mom and family with kindness and respect, and we are forever grateful. I can't say enough great things about Pat's Serenity Home Care. I highly recommend the family as they take excellent care of your loved ones!

The entire operation and everyone involved has been professional and focused on providing the best care possible. Dad experienced some medical problems (completely unrelated to the care provided by Visiting Angels) after a year into the VAO care program which resulted in changes to his living arrangements. VAO was understanding, cooperative, flexible, helpful and supportive in making adjustments to Dad's care program. It has now been nearly 18-months since VAO began providing services. We have never had a problem with billings, services, care-givers, or compliance with the scope of services provided by VAO and the outstanding staff. Dad has been cared for by one person for the overwhelming majority of time - but there has been a limited number of days when other caregivers were required to fill-in (due to illness, doctor visits, family emergencies, etc) for Dad's primary caregiver. The "substitute" caregivers were each well informed of Dad's condition/personality before arriving and each provided good, friendly, quality support that was welcomed by Dad. If you're ever in need of a reliable home health care service to provide care, companionship, light housekeeping services, assisting with meal preparation and clean-up, personal hygiene and grooming support, and a compassionate friend to help care for a loved one, I would certainly strongly recommend VAO. Reach out to Elizabeth or Kandice and find out how VAO can work with you in developing a program that works best for your loved ones needs and interests: the costs for care are very reasonable given the quality and reliability of services.

They have a vibrant program for MC and a slew of mature volunteers who keep the residents engaged. What I like: the food is delicious and it is bright and airy. The rooms have built in storage....so much I didn't have to even bring a dresser if I didn't want to. The bathroom has ample storage too. The deep cleaning occurs weekly and is done so well-even the corners are reached. The Executive Director is approachable and responsive. The staff are helpful and responsive too. I can access staff quickly and directly via phone. Cameras (no audio) are allowed and that has given me peace of mind to see my mom's routines and her interactions with the staff. I am pleased that TS wants so much transparency. The questions I have had are answered quickly and a win/win appears to be the goal. I have had experience with 3 different facilities and this is head and shoulders above the other 2. I highly recommend Trinity Springs. btw, a friend moved his wife in and he is/was very happy with the facility and the staff. When she passed, he invited her caregivers to her service. There are 1200 lots currently and all but about 15 are built on. If you buy a lot or an existing home you are a shareholder of the community. Many retirement parks have shares that have a $ value and you can buy one and then pay a much lower amount in rent. Here there is no $ value to a share and they are not bought or sold independently, they go with the home or with the lot. Thus there are no residents who pay lower fees by owning a share. All residents are owners of one share and pay the same amount, regardless of lot. Home prices vary from the 20's to over 100,000 dollars. Lots can be priced more than others if they hold a desirable location. Yet everyone pays the same monthly maintenance fee and that is $268.
