Nothing to write home about. The space is cramped, the women aren't friendly, but they do how to shape a brow. My frequent visits are based on convenience to my office, not of sheer love and loyalty. Perhaps I'd like it more if they smiled some. Blah at best. read more

From my girlfriend: "DO NOT GO HERE!!! They claim to 'specialise in Brazilian Wax'. I can assure you the 2 women it took to completely ruin me had no idea what they were doing. I left injured and covered in wax, with the main part of the job undone, as they couldn't work out how to do it! Terrible customer service. After frequenting this place every few weeks for 4 years, I showed up with a completed frequent customer card and was denied the free 10th service. No explanation. On principle, I won't return. read more

So I want to start by just saying that I'm very anal about my eyebrows and like them in a very specific way... Now continuing on, I haven't done my eyebrows in over a month due to having a new job and unable to go to my person. Since I was in dire need, I decided to give this place a shot as it's right around the corner. I explained to the girl not to thin it out, and just to keep my shape without making it round.. she decided to completely change the shape. No problem, I didn't have a problem with it, however I just asked her to fix one part, she said once she trims it it'll be fine... she proceeded to trim it however was snipping a tad too much, I was worried so I asked her if I could check it, but she stated I just needed to wait. Then she went ahead and started threading more. Long and behold, she pretty much ended up making my eyebrows very thin and decided to blame me because I asked her to "not make it round and keep my shape" otherwise she would've just "cleaned it up"... The people on here discussing customer service is very right. The customer service truly lacks here. read more

I was that woman sitting behind you listening to you whine. i couldn't wait until you got up and left. your attitude sucks and your rudeness to Kelly was uncalled for. Maybe if you calmed down you would have been able to more effectively communicate what is is that you wanted instead of getting yourself into a tizzy, giving mixed feedback and thus your messed up eyebrows. Kelly's been doing my eyebrows for a couple of years now and does a wonderful job everytime. I trust her completely!! Sorry your experience was less than perfect. Ugh. I'm gonna have to find a new place for eyebrow threading in midtown. The women before had the worst customer service skills, but at least they did a good job. The women there now are very nice, but totally butchered my eyebrows. Maybe I should've taken the fact that no one else has reviewed this place as a sign...? read more

Super nice; fast; easy. The lady asked me if I wanted thick or thin brows and how much shape. I replied and away we went. I prefer hard wax to threading but in a pinch, this place is great. read more

Have been a reqular customer for my eyebrows ever since they opened up on 45th. The new girls are professional and do an excellent job with my Eyebrows. Last week i tried their 20 minute summer facials, and it for 20 bucks it was the best deal. worked great!! they girl did a fantastic job and I was in and out in half hour with a great facial, eyebrows and small chatter.... I have been going to this place for over a year bc I work nearby. I have never had a problem until today. It is usually very crowded during lunch which makes me nervous bc then I feel like they rush. Anyways, I went in today around 4p and for whatever reason, the older woman that is always there and usually does my eyebrows, forgot how to shape eyebrows and completely took off the inner parts of my eyebrows. I was horrified. I tried to ask her why she removed so much and why there was no shape. I had her go back a couple of times to try and fix what she had done and I just had to interrupt, pay her and leave. Review from 2010 (was posted on another location's page): This place is right around the corner from my office and not far from my apartment. I've been here several times and had pretty good results (though never quite as good as Thread). After today's experience, however, I'll never go back. I walked in around lunchtime and the place was empty and the one woman was on the phone. I told her that I wanted my eyebrows and lip done and sat down. I FULLY expected her to end her phone call before starting, but that didn't happen. She stop talking into her headset for a few seconds, which made me think she hung up and just after getting started on my eyebrows she started talking again. At this point, I was really nervous. Who talks on the phone while threading your eyebrows? I didn't know what to do though because I didn't want to upset her while she was doing my eyebrows either. After moving to my left eyebrow, I felt MANY hairs get yanked out. I thought it couldn't be good. Sure enough, when I sat up, she had yanked out half of the end of my left eyebrow. I told her this was unacceptable and first she told me she was just cleaning up what I had and didn't do any shaping. After I said this was not the case, she then told me I had ingrown hairs... Might have been nice to know BEFORE she decided to just yank out half my eyebrow. She offered to make my right one match, but I thought that was a ridiculous proposal and left without paying. MadhOusE should be the name....The space is extremely cramped with only two people (who lack any kind of social skills or warmth) working. The one girl made me sit in a broken chair that didn't recline forcing me to hold my neck it a cramped position as she proceeded to thread my brows. At one point she made me put my finger on my eyelid (not to mention that i wear a decent amount of eye shadow) while puting my other hand on my forehead to hold my face steady. OMG...never again. Poor customer service and felt like i'm was being rushed. I had to tell them to redo my upper lips again and still couldn't get a clean threading. The worse was they pull my eyelashes when she was threading my eyebrows. No lotion or offer tissue afterwards. There are many places around the area, I will not come back! I have never posted a review but I was so infuriated by my experience at this poor excuse for a business that I had to warn people. I have been going to Madhu's for the past 2 months since it is so convenient to my office. I have never been particularly impressed with their work or service but it was convenient and did the trick until last week. I was getting my arms waxed and the lady dropped wax on my dress (before I had a meeting and dinner party to attend). She attempted to clean it up but only made it worse and had the gall to say that it was my fault for not telling her to put a towel on my lap. I then asked to speak with the owner on the telephone multiple times which she was not keen to let me do. She then started gossiping with her co-worker in front of me regarding what to do. The co-worker said, call the boss and tell her what happened (your side of the story). She proceeded to walk outside the store and call the boss and left a message for her saying she was charging me half price. I should not have paid anything but did not want to take advantage of the situation. I gave her a larger bill than what would amount to half price and she kept it. She thought I had not heard her on the phone and probably would have pocketed the difference. I demanded my change and told her it was unacceptable for her to try to cheat me. At this point, I was very angry with the situation. Her co-worker proceeded to shout at me saying I was disturbing her customers and that I should never come back to their shop. Needless to say, eyebrow and waxing places are a dime a dozen. I will NEVER return and strongly suggest you do the same. read more
