Wow! I can't state with enough enthusiasm how great the pizza is at Lefty's. We stopped in on…read moreSaturday before heading to the Skokie Theatre to see A Streetcar Named Desire. Lefty's has a very small dining room with limited seating (during the warmer months they offer al fresco dining) and a counter running along the main window for additional seating. In this instance seating and interior are secondary to the superb quality of the pizza. We started with a Sketchbook IPA and Peroni beer on draft. They were brought to the table in chilled glasses with a nice head of foam. The beers were presented in glasses with the beer names etched on each of the glasses. Outstanding presentation! For our entree we ordered a 16 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms. When it came to the table it was hot and bursting with a sweet aroma and bouquet of colors. The pizza was topped with green, red, and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and chunks of fresh sausage. The sauce was sweet and plentiful and was amply covered with generous portions of melted mozzarella cheese. The pizza was hot and the blended flavors of the combined ingredients were superb. Finally, an establishment that values the quality of ingredients and consistently delivers. Lefty's is one of the very best thin crust pizza's on the north shore. "Pizza is [Lefty's] love language, and [they are ] fluent in it". Bravo!

Their selection of local brews and wines is also very nice. The staff is excellent and super friendly. They have seating inside or outside and on a nice night, I'd definitely recommend outside. If you're just not feeling the going out vibe, order in! They deliver and you can swing by for fast pickup.

Waitress was on top of her game and got drinks and order going quickly. Crispy edge, deep dish pizza that was very good. There was a good ratio of sauce to bread and the toppings were very fresh. Friend had the chicken tenders and the jalepeno poppers. Honestly, the tray of fries as an appetizer was a great decision! We were not rushed along- and allowed to sit and chat after dinner. It was a great night with great food! Definitely check out this cute neighborhood spot!

Make sure you read the signs since they can be confusing. Also, they accept any payment except for checks. Do people even bring their checkbooks into restaurants these days? lol. You can dine inside or outside. I believe they have a heated patio outside. We dined inside, it was a shame that we couldn't sit at the booth where Anthony Bourdain's picture is. It was occupied. We ordered cheese curds and a medium sized pizza. For toppings, we chose sausage, mushrooms, and fresh garlic. This is not deep dish pizza, I would say it's more of a pan style. It's not heavy like at Gino's East or Giordano's. It has that famous caramelized crust and that airy dough. The toppings were super fresh. We immediately tasted the garlic. Burt's own special blend of the sausage tasted homemade. If you dine in, they cut it for you. If you take it home, you should already have a pizza cutter in your kitchen. Don't be lazy, it's very inexpensive. The cheese curds were generous and very tasty. They're like bite size mozzarella sticks. Service was great and attentive. Prices were cheap.
