Completely unprofessional…read more This happened on Thursday, I wrote my original review on Friday after I had general anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal, and now that the grogginess and pain has subsided, I've edited my review to be more concise/readable, provide screenshots rather than type out the conversation, and add more detail as she threatened me with legal action: I had an appointment at 3:30pm, got there at 3:36 (mistyped it in one of the texts, but you can see this from the first time stamp). I texted, rang the doorbell, and called, no answer. See the screenshot for when she finally responded, you can judge for yourself if it was unprofessional. There is also another screenshot showing my iPhone significant locations for the time I arrived to that area (3:35). She put me down as a no show (not sure if there's a fee associated) and said she was going to send me a Cease and Desist for slander after I posted this review. I wonder how many people she has said that to and they deleted their review because they didn't have the resources to deal with that. Aside from that, what happened to grace periods? It's standard practice across the US for that to be anywhere from 10-20 minutes. And she commented on this Yelp review that she can't put her life on hold? I was 6 minutes late, but even if I was 11 minutes late like she claims, her reaction would still be unprofessional...so I'm not really sure what she's defending. If you Google it for beauty appointments, the most common answer to pop up is 15 minutes. They don't just leave because the client didn't show up the exact minute their appointment time was (as her texts sound). They're running a business. And finally, what happened to being understanding (or at the very least, not rude) to repeat clients that have been more than understanding for your situations? The appointment I had before this one, I was on time and she had me waiting well over 6 minutes as she was doing her sister's lashes in the back and was flustered getting everything together for my appointment. Although I've been trying to practice asking before I entered any establishment due to COVID, the main reason I had texted her first was because of that situation. As per her response, she's completely ignored that to fit her narrative. Clearly, she wasn't there when I texted 6 minutes after my appointment time either. And she didn't respond at all until 3:57. I wonder if she was even there at my appointment time and is trying to play the victim for her mistake. In the past, she's cancelled on me the day of an appointment. Yes, she said it was because of a power outage, but I've had people who went through that here offer discounts for the last-minute inconvenience, to come to my house, or still do the appointment with back up lighting they had. I was okay with being offered none of that because I know it's hard to run a business and not everyone has the resources to offer that, but why does she expect clients to have basic understanding when she doesn't reciprocate? In this situation, if she had texted me that she couldn't wait or responded to my texts politely, I would've gladly paid any late fees and continued giving her my business, but that is not the case. There are plenty of other people who do great brow work in the area, the hassle of working with Jessica as a person is not worth it. Support businesses who value you as a customer y'all. For their hair care, they really do have it all, including dozens of specialty lines of professional products for every type of hair imaginable. From the looks of it, the back of the store also doubled as a hair salon, since I saw some ladies getting their hair blown out while seated in salon chairs. Towards the front of the store, they sell a nice selection of designer fragrances, and while they may not carry EVERY scent imaginable or all the latest in perfume/cologne, I did see all of my favorites on the shelves. They carried all the best sellers from Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs, D&G, and Burberry, to name a few. Did I mention they carry mens skin care, cologne, and hair cair products as well? They also provide eyebrow waxing, which I'm interested to try out. Ulta offers a rewards card similar to the Sephora card where you accumulate points for every dollar you spend at the store. She takes care while detangling your hair, she does not rip through or cause breakage. It's great. Timeliness 10/10 - I never had to wait between and of the hair care steps. Results 10/10 - I got my hair straightened with a bit of a curl to add layers and movement. The curls lasted for an entire week and I worked out a few times. The roots got a little frizzy from sweat but no hair dresser can prevent that! Little things: keeping you dry with a nice microfiber cloth at the base of your neck after deep condition!!! Good conversation. She seems like a genuinely decent human being. Which is always nice lol Even the location is great. I cannot overstate how happy I am with this salon. I will be returning! Other customers and employees are staring. I show him the photo of what I asked for and how it's nothing like what he gave me. He keeps trying to blame me despite me repeatedly saying that I didn't want this shape or color. As I'm showing other employees the photos, he is still shouting from across the room, and no one tells him to stop. I said "how can he yell at customers like that, it's very rude" someone said everyone says he's rude (then why does he still work there!) and another employee tried to blame me saying "because I changed my mind" despite me only ever wanting one type of nail. I have very thick brows and explained on both occasions she did my brows that I wanted to keep them thick with minimal waxing. Both times, she waxed, trimmed and plucked my brows into thin, unattractive strips, all the while underscoring that she was going to keep them "nice and thick." Then, after practically removing my brows from my face, she coated them with filler that made it difficult to tell how over waxed, plucked, and trimmed they were when I left the store. I have not had this problem with the other brow artists at this Ulta, but this particular person makes me wonder if she is intentionally giving the exact opposite result of what I requested.
