My final destination was not Oregon so I didn't specially need gifts to take home. What I did want was a state souvenir to take with me. Walking in, you are visually bombed with all sorts of colors and objects. I love stores like this. It requires you to take a minute to slow down and look at everything. They truly have everything here. From mugs to candy to sweatshirts, you'll find an Oregon themed gift here. I have so many shot glasses and mugs from different states that I have stopped at or traveled to. I started doing something different now. I slap a state sticker on my suitcase to represent each state I have been to. I have been to Portland a few times so this was a nice addition to my suitcase. It's an easy souvenir without it cluttering my cabinets. The sweet gal at the register checked me out. She was patient with me as I headed back to the stickers cause I couldn't decided between a couple. I really liked this store! Be cautious of your time! I even bought myself a Mount Hood sweatshirt, as that was the primary reason for our visit. :) The girl working the register was really sweet and helpful. Rung us up quickly and wrapped the delicate ceramic stuff so it would be protected on the flight. Overall really great experience. I recommend it for a more outdoorsy vibe.

But I did need some quick mementos and so I grabbed them, paid and was out in no more than 120 seconds. They have a pretty good collection of all the things that you find at airport shops. Drinks, snacks, souvenirs, you know the stuff. But they also have a few local items that aren't like postcards or keychains; locally made packaged food items like chocolates that will make a great gift. Service was especially friendly on my stop in. A smile goes a long way for wary travelers, and the smile that the clerk gave me was kind enough to get me through the stress of the terminal.

I can't wait to see her in it! It's not a cheap shop, particularly if you're looking for clothing. But they had a sale going on when I was here and the two racks were packed with stuff. And with good reason! Just entering the store, I was suddenly immersed in a calming, nature-filled environment (their patio and garden wares were at the front of the store when we entered. Not sure if this was a seasonal set-up or if the store is like this year-round. All I can say is, to walk into a store and be surrounded by calming greenery and lovely garden items, it was a very welcoming entrance). The store was very garden-focused but the more I explored inside, I found so many beautiful household accessories and thoughtful hostess gift ideas - or items that I'd love to get for myself! Household fragrances and lotions and potions (all high end products, nothing cloying or tacky), lovely household decor items, some gourmet food items, kitchenware.... I could go on. The folks behind the counter greeted us warmly but weren't intrusive as we explored the shop. Still, it was good to know they were there if we had questions or were looking for a specific item. If I lived in the city, this would definitely be a go-to store for me to get gifts or household niceties for myself (!).
