I have recently 'rediscovered' Safeway... They really have managed to level up on their prepared…read morefoods sections. I unfortunately have become a lot less mobile - standing for long periods very much harms my leg tissue so i need to limit standing which means that I am not able to cook as much as I would like to. Prepared foods are such a tragedy. Having veggies cut up in advance is such a time saver sometimes! I used to avoid it because the word fresh was a joke but Safeway had such a great selection of very well priced and fresh fruit and vegetables. Also, those horrifically large veggie trays with some ranch - they have small single servings! I go to things like Shakespeare in the Park so grabbing a wrap sandwich and some veggies for snacking is wonderful! Also, cut up bowls of fresh fruit. There are quite a few selections of different small meats, cheeses with crackers and/or nuts. It is so nice to have options for those of us who forgot our lunch too! They are much less than the fast food options and far better for you as well. This location really seems to run a tight ship where everything, even during a pretty busy afternoon was neat and tidy which is appreciated. I even got fast, knowledgeable help from a passing by employee which is always great, especially when there seems to be a BBQ rush of people in the store.

I've never received such amazing service as that.. most cashiers tell you to take it to the front desk if there's a problem after reviewing the receipt. I've always dreaded the thought of going to Safeway shopping, but this experience just changed my feelings a bit. Please Foster other cashiers so that they instill this as a normal practice. Thank you Indi for a great experience. Marty Hummel

For local ingredients the Farmers Market is the best source but be expected to pay 3x what they're worth (trust me I know I used to sell my goods at Farmers Markets). This C&C is clean and well stocked. They have an enormous variety and great weekly specials. I enjoy receiving coupons in the mail and finding new products when I visit weekly sometimes twice a week. You get to know the high volume times as well as the low volume times. Honestly, there are days and times when you have the entire store to yourself or you're stuck in line way back behind all the folks who thinks this is CostCo. Drives me nuts. I loved this store even more back when you had to prove you had a small business and it was exclusive but those days have long since passed and for some strange reason keeps the conversation with the employees humorous. Every time I've picked up the wrong thing - wrong yeast - wrong cheese - whatever, they are totally cool with bringing it back and exchanging it. No questions asked which is more than I can say for most food stores. And plus they will actually start carrying an item if you request it which also a huge bonus (my beloved Shepherd's Grain Flour I could only find at Puratos in BFE). So if you need excellent customer service, a huge selection and don't mind the folks who go there to buy one single carton of eggs to hold up the line you are in for a treat. I know I am - I'll be heading over in about a half hour to get my weekly goods.

I was trying to be nice and the lady just soaked up that kindness and made me feel like garbage. There was a man there too, that had good customer service. The lady there, that was working with him, had an attitude, like I was making her perform brain surgery. I tried to be positive and even mentioned I worked for Safeway too, but she clearly didn't want to hear anything I had to say. She's getting paid for having a bad attitude. I wouldn't want to pay someone for that. It seemed really crammed, compared to the others Safeways near by.

Ambrosia apples are on a "Red Hot Sale" $.49 a pound. Great, I get to try an apple I'm not familiar with for cheap. It rings up as $2.49 a pound. WHAT? Here's where we get to the mixed review. The cashier made it right with no fight, but the attitude was dismissive and borderline rude. I even went back and took a picture of the price tag sign in produce so she could pass it on that the system was not recognizing the correct advertised price plus I didn't want her to think I was trying to pull something. She managed to refrain from rolling her eyes, but it looked like a struggle. I won't say her name because she did make it right, but I will go back to driving further to avoid this store.

If a person comes into a store and intentionally takes an item without paying it's called theft…read more What do you call it when a store steals from the customer? Fraud. Safeway has now topped themselves with the digital coupons not working. The coupon entered did not work. We all know the rules, the steps, the procedure, but still it didn't work. There it is entered into your phone as well as using it's number to I.D. as your issued card is nearly worthless. And here's the correct item to get the discount. All the other items with a coupon worked. Why just this one? A dollar here, a couple of dollars there of non working coupons adds up fast. Notice the price error is always in their favor. Always! What does the attendant first say when you call her over? Well it has to be YOUR fault. Every time, the dumb ones say that. No apology. You'd like to ask them how they even found their way to work. Or, tell them if their damn coupons worked correctly, they wouldn't be needed and the store could fire them. When you got dressed today, did you put your socks on first or your shoes? Do you make that mistake often, lady? Don't work self checkout if you can't respect your customers. We already know most of your day is fixing coupon problems. The white haired lady is the nicest one they have and never gets rattled. Fred Meyer has a class action suit ongoing. It's time Safeway had one, too.

First off, he was hunched over, talking on his cell phone. He saw us, and told the person on the phone that he "had a person coming, that they had to go." He then said " Can you bag for me?" I said, "Yea, I can, that I just need needed to get everything out of my cart. Alex dropped my paper towels on the floor and didn't say anything until I turned around, then he was like, "Oh, those just fell." So I picked them up. My son wasn't feeling well and wanted to get home. I asked Alex if he could help us out bagging and that I'd be there to help as soon as I was done getting everything onto the conveyor belt. He sounded annoyed and didn't help me bag, until he was done scanning everything. I had a big order too, over $300.00. I asked if he could bag the items as he was scanning them. I was done unloading and already bagging myself, but he argued with me and said that he prefers to do things a different way than other cashiers. He prefers to scan everything first and pile everything up on the counter. He seemed argumentative. I didn't want to engage him. It was an awkward moment, especially with my son, right there. I was shaking while I was putting my groceries back into my cart because he gave me such a bad feeling. I asked him for his name. He gave it and said, "I don't mind giving my name out." Then he asked why, I told him, so I could fill out a review. It's good to know other people experiences, so they can be prepared.
