I just had an awful first introduction to this company. I am currently searching for a place to live and one of their properties was perfect! I attempted to schedule a tour through their website and it wasn't working. I couldn't click on any of the icons to find more dates or times. That is not their fault! Websites crash all the time. I decided to give them a call to try to get a tour scheduled. I wish I could remember the name of the employee that answered the phone because she was AWFUL. She answers the phone and gives the usual "Thank you for calling Maddox Management..." So I give her my name and give her the run down of the website not working and what street the listing I was interested was on. She cuts me off to say in the rudest tone, "You're gonna have to be more specific than that." In fact there was multiple times that as I was explaining the issue she cuts me off saying "Our website is working perfectly fine!" and "It probably means there was no times available for the day you're looking at!" After a couple times of her doing that and me saying "Well no, it wouldn't let me click on anything but that's why I thought it'd be easier to call," she finally asks me when I would like to set up the tour. I ask if they have any availability tomorrow or Sunday and I begin to say, "I'm not sure if you are available on the weekend and I know Sunday is Easter-" before she cuts me off again and says, "Well that's why the website wasn't working! We do tours Monday through Friday!" and I tell her that the website wouldn't even let me click the icon for more available dates. She continues speaking incredibly rude and outrageously unprofessionally towards me and I was so upset that I had to end the phone call. I truly wish I could leave an audio recording to explain how rude and unprofessionally she was speaking towards me. It was abhorrent. I shouldn't have hung up on her while she was still talking but I couldn't believe what I had just experienced. I would never dream of renting from a company who allows that kind of customer "service." Every other rental management place I've talked to or worked with has been wonderful when it comes to customer service. Ignoring the fact that all of the other reviews are just as bad if not worse than my experience, do not rent from this company. And Maddox Management, you need to either train your staff better or hire better people. You should be ashamed of the way you allow your company to be run and how your company shows up for your customers. read more

I would never recommend this company for neither owners or renters. Like other post he nickles and dime you to no end. If you pay rent on time still charges late fees fraud I am told Do not trust them Get everything in writing. If sending by mail get a return receipt as says never received Rented same place 20 years and no problem until he messed lease up and now charges late fees even when check clears bank on time DO NOT TRUST!!!!!!! read more

Had a friend live in some of their apartments. The staff of Maddox was very rude to most of the people there and they did not clean up very well and the apartment complex and the dryers were horrible for drying. At least a dozen times the fire alarms went off for the whole complex because their dryers were so old and probably not cleaned properly. Not my words that's from the fire department. I just wish that management would actually treat the people that live there with respect and just basic kindness. read more

I've lived in my apartment for 20 years, since September 2003, & while it's not the greatest it's been home & something I'm proud of having been able to do for myself. Over the years, I've had roof links & they have all been centered over my bathroom. So, when I got a new roof leak in August it was no big shock. I reported it to my property management company & they came out and fixed it. No problem. Until September... Leaks popped up in new places in September & were bad enough to lead to chunks of my ceiling collapsing exposing what looks like rotten, moldy ceiling insulation. I promptly reported it w/pics...see attached pics which are digitally timestamped from September. And...my property manager sent out some guys to patch the roof again but they were ineffectual. (They sucked? Weren't any good? Did shitty work?) The leaks have continued through October & this month & since the roof hasn't been fixed no work has been done on the interior at all so I still have stuff falling & still have exposed rotten, moldy ceiling insulation hanging in my bathroom over 2-months later. I've paid rent up til now. My 2-bdrm is ridiculously cheap so I've always let things slide, not wanting to cost too much money but this feels like it's just too much to deal with. The negligence on the part of Maddox has been surprising and disappointing as they have, in the past, provided timely assistance to maintenance issues when reported. read more

I went online and let them know and they sent someone next day to see what was going on! not only was the problem fixed the replacement has exceeded my expectations! Maddox is the worst management company I've ever rented from...they're rude and dismissive and do not even pretend to act like they care about their tenants. My apartment was absolutely filthy when I moved in so it doesn't seem like they do any sort of cleaning between tenants. I'll be breaking my lease as soon as I find another place. read more

I have known the Maddox's for many years. They have done an amazing job managing my rental property in Albuquerque. When things were in need of repair they always let me know and found quality people to do the repairs. They found great tenants and made sure that all of the financials were in order. Also, they're great people and a real pleasure to deal with. Damon, Barb and Liska are extremely professional and I would recommend them without hesitation for both landlords and tenants. read more

My experience with this company has been very stelar, so far. I've been looking for an apartment in the ABQ, while out of town. It has been a nightmare: the only thing I can find is private rentals, who require you to be in person to hold, or the all too common disgusting chain apartments, with their disgusting brown carpet, and empty promises of the good life. I ended up doing a google search, and found these guys. I called their office and spoke with a very pleasant receptionist. The following day I was able to go onto their website, place down a deposit on a great apartment in a great area. The process was super easy, and done within an hour. Damian was also super pleasant and easy to work with. I very rarely write reviews, but after the positivity I received, after all the negativity the rest of the town showed me, I felt I'd take the initiative to write something nice, because they, honestly, deserve it. read more

Avoid them!! I had set up an appointment to see a property with Maddox Management yesterday. The person was a no show and did not contact me to let me know that he wouldn't be coming, so my mom and I waited for over 30 minutes for him. We were very disappointed by the professionalism of this company both on the phone and in this no show. read more

Worst management company I have ever dealt with. Nice to your face, but fake. I moved in several months ago to my place only to find many issues with it. On top of it, my place was dirty as hell. They didnt care. They also charged me a move in fee on top of a security deposit. read more

The lawsuit went to arbitration and I got my deposit back in full...it was an expensive and time consuming adventure but well worth the satisfaction of being in the right! My advice is to avoid these folks and look elsewhere... read more

I've been a renter from this company for nearly a decade, and I've had a good and fair service. The only incident I ever had was when an electrician destroyed my garden, I complained, And never saw that electrician again. Any repair request or work order is immediately handled I think the longest I've ever waited was just a couple days. If you can pay your rent to keep your property clean I doubt you'll ever have a problem, and if you do Maddox will work tirelessly to help you solve it, at least that's my experience, and I've never heard any of my neighbors complain either. If you're looking for a no hassle landlord who takes care of business, you found it. read more

We were looking for a property to rent. We were assured we were the first in-line to view property. We expressed that we had been looking for awhile and we wanted the soonest available appointment. Andre Norris said we were the firs tones to call and we were the first in- line. He wasn't even sure if they had the keys it was so new. They scheduled the appointment the following morning. Meanwhile Andre with out letting us know they showed the property and had applications submitted. That put us third in-line. The house was rented out from under us. No responsibility was taken. Terrible experience - my unit was dirty upon moving in. I took the time, money, and elbow grease to clean it all up only to have Maddox Management take my entire deposit upon moving out for "damages". I would never recommend this management agency to anyone. I've been a renter for 15 years, most of those years in Chicago. I've never once had a damage deposit not fully returned. read more

I never was on time with rent by a few days and it never seemed to be a problem which was awesome! The people at the office were super friendly. They are nice when you are signing up and they always say there is someone else who is about to sign up for this property. If you have any problem or issue with the property you've rented they try to get out of fixing it or fix it to the lowest cheapest level possible. The son specially is absolutely rude! read more

This is the most unprofessional property management company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. For example, when I showed up to the property that I was very interested in renting, the current tenant was there, but the agent was about 10 minutes late. As I was looking through the property I asked some questions: "How much is the rent", "what do the utilities average", "what year was this built?" I don't believe I was asking any sort of questions that shouldn't readily be answered by a "management company". However, the agent informed me that he "forgot his papers at the office" despite the fact that he was apparently showing this property for two days straight. Overlooking this, I still wanted to secure the property and promptly filed my application. Upon receipt of my letter confirming that I had been accepted I immediately tried calling and emailing the office to pay my deposit as there was not a link in the email. Nobody answered at the office and my email was not replied to. This morning my husband called to pay the deposit only to find out that they had already rented it to someone else. The only reason they get one star is because I have to give them at least one and the owner did agree to refund my application fees and admitted his fault. 0/10 would not suggest this company. read more
