A couple weeks previous, I had attended a service that was put on by Lindquist Mortuaries in Layton and I was not near as impressed as I was with Leavitt's and Brett and Jase. My mother passed away in May in Colorado and we were in such grief she needed to be taken to a funeral home and also transported to Utah. And, as a daughter living in Texas one call and with Mike's guidance he took care of everything. He took care of everything from choosing the casket and flowers as well as with the entire service. He also took in consideration our budget and worked within it. The staff are so caring and helpful. Each and every family is a special one for them. On trying times such as a loved one passing such as my Mother everything was perfect and beyond our expectations. There is no other funeral home out there I would rather be than at Leavitt's. Jesse went above and beyond for us in the most kind way, with compassion, patience, and warmth. Even the slightest bit of compassion would have been nice, even family that was here with me commented on how unprofessional and cold they seemed to be. I hope no one else has to feel this way. ESPECIALLY when your loved one is leaving home for the last time, just a little bit of compassion goes a long way, and we received none. Made me feel like I needed to apologize for the inconvenience. We had a private small family gathering at their beautiful building with my Mom's photos on display. They were so accommodating with our needs and requests. We had a graveside service with about 80 people and the rain was coming down pretty hard. They provided a tent and several umbrellas for us. They even hurried and wiped down the chairs before we arrived. Easton was an amazing host and made a very hard day a bit easier. We loved the online services of sharing the obituary, photos and videos of our lovely Mom, Valene. Rachael Vandermeide was so abrasive, rude, dishonest, need I go on? The way she treated my kids and the congregation during the funeral was seriously unprofessional. I have many family members that have plots and services set up with Lindquist and if I knew they could get their money back or that it wouldn't be a hassle I would request them to move to a different Mortuary. I will say that there was a sweet gentleman there that was incredibly professional and respectful. Rachael on the other hand was the total opposite.
