Recommends lawyers right out of the gate and is very pushy about extra services and surgeons etc. Offers weekend hours and says he's there anyways but doesn't tell you he's charging extra after talking you in to coming in on a Saturday morning. Charges outrageous rates to read xrays (check your bill as mine listed same charge multiple times). Will blow your phone up like a scorned teenage girlfriend if you're not coming in enough or discontinue service. He's a con man in a lab coat. read more

Mike is the best Chiropractor I've ever been to. He's Not one of those chiropractors that has four or five moves that are performed on every patient in the same fashion. He has the exceptional skill of sensing precisely where the block is and applying the perfect level finesse and/or force to release it. He has a vast repertoire of moves and approaches to remedy any kind of spinal ailment. He Knows exactly how to adjust an angle or approach to move even the most stubborn subluxations. Dr. Maddox was my first introduction into Chiropractic, back in the early 90's. I suffered from chronic TMJ pain and was unable to open my jaw for many months. His knowledge and expertise set me up for success! Fast forward 30 years and woke up one day (during Covid) and my knee didn't work! I was in extreme pain and couldn't do anything. I wasted a year doing MRI's, X-rays and virtual Doctor appointments only to be told, " I had RA and Lupus" and there wasn't much I could do but take prescriptions and learn to live with it. If you do, they make you sign a CONTRACT for all and future treatments putting a lean on any funds you may need to take care of yourself. This " physician" is a ambulance chaser in an office. I have been seeing Dr. Maddox for several years. I recently had a knee injury and went to an orthopedic clinic twice and was pronounced good to go. From a Monday night I started to feel muscle ache in my neck, which by Wed. had gotten so severe it brought me to little screams. My son found Dr. Maddox as having his practice nearby, in the Tech Ridge shopping center, in the S.E. corner of the intersection of Parmer & I-35, and my appt. was for that. afternoon. By that time the pain was exacerbated by spasms, around 1 every 5 minutes, that made me scream. Dr. Maddox adjusted me in the neck area, and feeling no different I managed to sleep that night. The following morning, almost all the spasms had disappeared, and subsequent days with adjustments on each day the rest of that week including Saturday, made me almost entirely who I had been before. It was nearly miraculous, without any medications after all. I went back a week later and received one more adjustment, of the back this time, and that is it.  Medicare covered all my expenses.  Apart from technical and medical knowledge, this man also has excellent people skills and is soft spoken and so nice. I neglected to look at this guys reviews before going and I really wish I had and probably wouldn't have gone to him. He appeared to be drunk the first time I went in and suggested that I was nervous.. He made me uncomfortable especially when he asked 3 different times to monitor bruising on my butt even after I assured him bruising never appeared. The second time I went in I noticed that he keeps Shiner Bocks in his mini fridge which made me assume he was drunk the first time I saw him. Dr Maddox is the BEST chiropractor I've ever been to and over 10 years I have been to 5-7 different ones. He got me completely out of pain so fast and seriously knew more about my autoimmune condition than my MD. Called and asked if they accepted my insurance. Was told that they did. Then after appt was over they gave me bill for $200, now told that they didn't accept my insurance, and didn't even give me an adjustment. Sent me home in pain w an ice pack. Was told I would have to come back next day and pay another $48 for an adjustment. This is a dishonest practice. Writing this review so others don't get conned out of money like I did. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Maddox for about 10 years, and can not recommend him highly enough. I was referred to him by another chiropractor who was one of several Dr.s at a large, "corporate feeling" clinic that was very pricey and(right off the bat), wanted me to fill out a questionnaire indicating friends and family that I think would benefit from their services, etc. (Frankly, the experience, just rubbed me and my wallet the wrong way). At the time I had no insurance and worked as a self-employed auto tech full time (not a body friendly profession). I've sustained several injuries from my "bulletproof" youth including, 2 "neck-wrenching" car wrecks in my teens (ever seen a 4000 lb car "bounce" 5 feet off the trunk of a tree ....while inside of it ?) and a "thrown-out" lower back ---(from an exercise machine of all things.....anyone remember "the Cardio-Glide"?)-- that have persistently flared up as I've gotten older. After paying this other Dr. $40 or $50 ("10 years ago dollars") a visit to adjust me a couple of times. I said: " I can't afford you. Can you offer or recommend a realistic option? " And thank God, this Dr. put my care before his bottom line, and told me about Dr. Maddox. I've not seen anyone else since. Dr. Maddox had and has a VERY REASONABLE price structure. He's always offered a "Gold Care" plan whereby he charges one flat rate for a year. (I think he offers 6 month plans as well). I know he accepts insurance too. I'm always welcome to see him for an adjustment when I need one. With MY body's particular issues, I would have gone bankrupt at the first Dr.'s "each visit" prices...and, perhaps worse, been unable to do things like: walk w/o pain, much-less play volleyball (almost every Tuesday night) for the last 6 years. MOST IMPORTANTLY I felt and still FEEL TRULY CARED FOR by this man. He obviously cares about people and enjoys helping them heal. Dr. Maddox is very upbeat, has a great understated sense of humor (his outgoing phone mssg encourages one to leave a mssg for him OR his beloved dog Radar), (btw Radar....if you're reading this, you need to start returning some of those calls :-). He takes the time to explain, in layman's terms why my body does what it does and sometimes even why I "might not want to" do to it some of the things I do. I even sleep in a different position because of him. I always slept on my (ahem...seemingly ever growing) stomach and would draw one leg up higher than the other. The afore-mentioned "C-Glide" lower back injury did not like this at all. (Take note "stomach sleepers" I now sleep on my side with: a cervical memory foam pillow cradling my neck and head... another pillow between my knees (as per his recommendation) relieves strain to my lower back and (my own addition) a pillow under the "top-side" arm). I've never slept better and I no longer throw out my lower back...not from sleeping "wrong" anyway. (He was recommending sleeping on my back...this was the compromise). I haven't even touched on this years neck issue (resulting from frequently holding the phone with tilted head at work) with which I clearly had a pinched nerve...we're talking numb fingers...radiating "electricity feeling" spasms going down my left arm. This one really scared me. Since this condition was taking a lot longer to respond to adjustments than my array of other previous issues, in addition to chiropractic, I sought out the advice of an orthopedic Dr. along with massage etc.. The orthopedic was recommending steroids with surgery as the bottom line. This was a "line" I was willing to consider, only as a very last resort. It took a few weeks of adjustments including "drop table" adjustments on my neck (in conjunction with gentler variations of the adjustments I usually receive) for the condition to gradually start to improve. It is now totally back to "normal" (for me). I played volleyball with the gang for the first time in quite a while last night !! I could go on....and...I know...I already have. But this review is long overdue. A lot of his other regular patients call him Mike (which he seems to have no issue with), and even though I now count him amongst my best friends (he's a good listener too) I've always call him "Dr. Maddox" as a show of my respect and heartfelt appreciation of the part he's played in the improvement and continued maintenance of my quality of life. If you're reading Dr. Maddox....THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you've done for me and by extension, my family. read more
