Came in on Thursday to get a simple $50 piercing, was told the only person who knew how to do it wouldn't be in until Saturday at 2:30pm. I returned Saturday at 3pm and was told the piercing person wouldn't be in until 3:30pm. I came back at 3:35pm and the entire lobby was full with this persons clients waiting, no problem except the person was now running late. I left and came back at 5:30pm and the staff had left for the day leaving only the piercer to do everything. People in the lobby complained about waiting over two hours for piercings alone. No one ever greeted us at the front desk for 15 minutes. Hopefully they are better staffed eventually read more

I walked in about 30 minutes before they closed and they gladly took me in. Spider was my piercer and pierced my second holes. My friends were also with me and he made us all feel comfortable and happy to be there even though we had just walked in before they closed. He pierced my ears with no pain at all and it was fast. I got a hood piercing done by Spyder and it ripped out because he didn't go deep enough. Told me it was just a tissue tear and if he were to pierce it again it wouldn't happen again. So I went and got it done again for a second time and the same thing happened, the piercing ripped out. Horrible experience. read more

Me, my boyfriend and two friends spontaneously decided to get tattoos done yesterday as some sort of impulsive decision. Two of us (including myself) never got a tattoo done so we were both pretty anxious about what was to come. After getting turned away from by three other shops who claimed to do walk ins but weren't taking any once we arrived, we ended up here. We were greeted once we got inside, did the paperwork and saw the designs/stencils of what we all wanted. I went first to just get my anxiety over with and so I wouldn't back down after everyone else went. All new materials were opened, and the artist (who's name slipped my mind) applied my stencil where I wanted and started tattooing. It took a short amount of time due to the size, but I'm extremely pleased with the outcome! All of us had a wonderful experience and are in love with our new tattoos. I am satisfied with the tattoo. However, they are not professional. For starters, I was never asked for ID. Then, the guy doing that tattoo had a terrible cold. Ummmm why would I want a sick person giving me an open wound?! Lastly, and the worst part of all, while getting the tattoo I overheard a conversation in the back (between 2 employees) about white supremacy, which needless to say made me extremely uncomfortable. After speaking about the sankofa tattoo I had been vying after for about a year, I was booked to come in and have it done with Tommy! He's absolutely awesome. Took just under or about 30 minutes to do it, was nice, kept conversation at a good level (not too chatty and not too quiet) and it looked EXACTLY like the picture I brought in. Clean lines and affordable too. The base price is $70 which I complained about at first. Being a broke college student is no joke but if I can muster up the money for a tattoo it might as well be well worth what I'm paying! I even tipped... Tipped! Tipping in college?! Unheard of. I recently went to this shop with my friend to get a cheek piercing. The piercers name was Spyder, he was very rude and unprofessional. He continuously made smart remarks and had a bad attitude in general. But bc he said that he had been doing this 23 years my friend was still willing to let him pierce her. He didn't clean the surface of the area he was piercing, he pierced it crooked, and also with a plastic retainer. He also put a regular sized jewelery in so there was no room for swelling and after having this piercing for two days she had to take it out because her cheek was swelling so much the jewlery was no longer visible. read more

Went in for a touch up on Friday. I already had an appointment set up with Dennis, who I thought did my tattoo last month. As it turns out, it was not him. My artist was named Jared, but he quit. Dennis was very caring, knowledgeable, and hilariously irreverent. He actually said this soon after we went in the room: "You know, normally I would charge you for this, since I didn't do your tattoo. But what kind of f**king shop would we be if I made you pay for this because your artist f**king quit?" He was actually supporting me for why I got the tattoo. As you might remember from my previous review, I got the tattoo, that simply says Mingus, to commemorate Charles Mingus's, a famous jazz musician's, 95th birthday, because he's inspired me more than any other musician. He made it darker, as it should have been, and he was just an all around cool guy. I don't expect to get any more tattoos or touch ups anytime soon, but I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo and I will tell them to go with Dennis. read more

Completely unprofessional. I had gone to the shop last Monday to set up an appointment with an artist, he took all my information and told me he would send me pictures of designs through out the week. My appointment was that Friday. He also told me he would email me to remind me about my appointment the day before. Thursday rolled around and I hadn't heard from him. I messaged him on Instagram because that's the only way I knew how to get ahold of him considering he never emailed me. It took him all day to message me back and he told me he had to cancel bc something had come up (no big deal yet) and that another artist would be able to do it for me. He told me he gave another artist all of my information and rescheduled for the upcoming Monday. I never heard from this new artist so I drove all the way to the shop the day of my appointment just for him to tell me he wasn't feeling well and I should reschedule. Now, I understand things come up but he had all day to contact me so I didn't waste my time driving 45 minutes to the shop and then back home. Also he was rude to me when I told him I wouldn't be coming back. I spend my whole day with clients and if I wasn't feeling well I would let all of my clients know hours before. Just really wondering why I had to going out of my way to contact both of these artists for them to cancel. read more

I went to mark for my first tattoo at 18...over the course of 8 years or so I had mark do up some pretty sweet tats.... im not gonna say a word about price...very reasonable. ..not gonna say a word about the work....great work.... I am gonna say that over the course of 8 years or so you'd like to think you develope a friendly relationship with the dude putting ink in your body for the rest of your life..... eh ... not the case... mark is a busy dude...I get that...so when you scheduele a tattoo with him and you wait 3 months...you want him to tat you .... so after rescheduling time and time again and waiting 3 months here and there to get a tat you've set your sights on ..you start to realize that you're not that important to the guy...especially when he pawns you off on another artist there because he forgot your appointment. .. ive sent friends and fam there for the longest. ....the dude isnt good at keeping an appointment. ..bottom line..very unprofessional and and I will not be returning to mark madden for a tattoo... I dont care if he tattooed ray j or dennis rodman.... im not letting an unprofessional put anymore ink in my body ... it would just be a reminder that the tat you have came from a guy ya dont respect....that being said....tattoo removal is expensive read more
