Brought my teenage daughter here for a piercing and they were professional, friendly, and really helped put her at ease. She loved the jewelry she got and was very happy with the piercing. It's been several weeks now and we haven't had any unexpected complications. It was easy to get in for an appointment and they were on time. Overall a very positive experience. read more

Came in on Thursday to get a simple $50 piercing, was told the only person who knew how to do it wouldn't be in until Saturday at 2:30pm. I returned Saturday at 3pm and was told the piercing person wouldn't be in until 3:30pm. I came back at 3:35pm and the entire lobby was full with this persons clients waiting, no problem except the person was now running late. I left and came back at 5:30pm and the staff had left for the day leaving only the piercer to do everything. People in the lobby complained about waiting over two hours for piercings alone. No one ever greeted us at the front desk for 15 minutes. Hopefully they are better staffed eventually read more

I walked in about 30 minutes before they closed and they gladly took me in. Spider was my piercer and pierced my second holes. My friends were also with me and he made us all feel comfortable and happy to be there even though we had just walked in before they closed. He pierced my ears with no pain at all and it was fast. The cost was reasonable and I would recommend this business to anyone wanting piercings. read more

I LOVE MY TAT!!! Tommy is a wonderful artist and very friendly. He designed and gave me my fairy tat with names in less then an hour. Fantastic prices. Dillon was also there and is a really nice guy. While I was waiting for my design to be drawn, he was great company. I very happy returning customer. I'll definitely be recommending them to friends and family. read more

Madd Ink - My new fairy tat. I received tons on compliments in just 2 days - Tattoo Near Me - Buffalo, New York

Made an appointment to get an impromptu tattoo while working in Buffalo, NY. Chose this place because of the ratings. Sadly, I didn't choose well. It took twice as long as expected and the artistic liberties taken by the artist have made me really unhappy with what I got. The staff was friendly and polite which is why they got 3 stars. read more

Went in today looking to get a tattoo on my ear lobe, I am happy to say they all told me no because after a few weeks the lines wouldn't look the same. Joe ended up giving me an amazing thin line tattoo on my arm instead and touched up my fading one. Everyone in the shop was super friendly and it was very clean. The tattoo ink was also vegan!! I'm happy I went in and they were honest with me about how my tattoo would look in the future. Would 100% recommend going here! I'm so pleased with my tattoo!! read more

Madd Ink - Thin line tattoo on back of arm - Tattoo Near Me - Buffalo, New York

Best tattoo shop in Buffalo period. Mark Madden is a genius. He takes your idea, works it out, gives suggestions, and takes his time. He is so careful with the detailing and coloring as well. A+ studio read more

I got a hood piercing done by Spyder and it ripped out because he didn't go deep enough. Told me it was just a tissue tear and if he were to pierce it again it wouldn't happen again. So I went and got it done again for a second time and the same thing happened, the piercing ripped out. Horrible experience. read more

Always a great experience. Joe has done 3/6 of my tattoos and I never leave unsatisfied. Very welcoming environment with friendly staff. Thank you Madd Ink for my latest ink addition! read more

Spider was awesome! Completely worth the drive from the south towns. Made the experience quick, easy, and comical! Would totally recommend. Definitely going back again read more

Me, my boyfriend and two friends spontaneously decided to get tattoos done yesterday as some sort of impulsive decision. Two of us (including myself) never got a tattoo done so we were both pretty anxious about what was to come. After getting turned away from by three other shops who claimed to do walk ins but weren't taking any once we arrived, we ended up here. We were greeted once we got inside, did the paperwork and saw the designs/stencils of what we all wanted. I went first to just get my anxiety over with and so I wouldn't back down after everyone else went. All new materials were opened, and the artist (who's name slipped my mind) applied my stencil where I wanted and started tattooing. It took a short amount of time due to the size, but I'm extremely pleased with the outcome! All of us had a wonderful experience and are in love with our new tattoos. Will return for smaller pieces from this shop! read more

I've been getting my tattoos from Chuck G for years. The shop is clean, they use all the proper sterilization techniques, the pricing is reasonable and I am happy with every single one of my tattoos. I only see Chuck for my work, but have seen amazing work by the other artists there as well. read more

I am satisfied with the tattoo. However, they are not professional. For starters, I was never asked for ID. Then, the guy doing that tattoo had a terrible cold. Ummmm why would I want a sick person giving me an open wound?! Lastly, and the worst part of all, while getting the tattoo I overheard a conversation in the back (between 2 employees) about white supremacy, which needless to say made me extremely uncomfortable. And no, they were not talking about it negatively. In fact, they were laughing about it. I won't be going back nor recommending this place to anyone. read more

I have been getting tattooed by Mark Madden for 6 years. In my eyes, THE BEST IN BUFFALO. He's reasonable in pricing, usually about a 2-3 month wait (which isn't bad), and has 3 different locations with multiple artist and piercers. The shops are always clean and tidy. Kenny at Madd Tat2 is wonderful as well! read more

We were walk-ins...my sister wanted a tattoo for the bday tonight. Tommy was more than accommodating, patient, professional and a true creative artist. I would MORE THAN HIGHLY recommend Tommy over ANY OTHER TATTOO SHOP ON ELMWOOD! read more

I came here with friends for a piercing. We each came in wanting the same exact thing, it was about seven of us, so the owner gave us a group discount. I plan on going back soon to have my next tattoo done. I am very skeptical when it comes to choosing tattoo shops, I usually would wait until I go back home to NYC, but this place is great! Very clean and they have great service. read more

Here I was nervous about moving from the city to Buffalo for school. But as a tattoo lover, I was even more paranoid about finding a good tattoo shop! (Especially after my first tat I got in the city) After shopping around for sometime I stumbled into this rather... Interesting to say the least... shop not too far from my campus. The staff is overly friendly and helpful. They are more than willing to answer any questions and concerns you may have. After speaking about the sankofa tattoo I had been vying after for about a year, I was booked to come in and have it done with Tommy! He's absolutely awesome. Took just under or about 30 minutes to do it, was nice, kept conversation at a good level (not too chatty and not too quiet) and it looked EXACTLY like the picture I brought in. Clean lines and affordable too. The base price is $70 which I complained about at first. Being a broke college student is no joke but if I can muster up the money for a tattoo it might as well be well worth what I'm paying! I even tipped... Tipped! Tipping in college?! Unheard of. I loved Tommy's work so much I'm already booked to get my next tattoo with him once we return from break. read more

Impressive! Dillion is a very talented artist and Jose is a fantastic piercing specialist. The moment we walked in we were extremely impressed with cleanliness of the establishment and friendly service. We had a blast and laughed the entire time! Can't wait to go back! Bravo gentleman! read more

Jose is great! He's professional and fun. Will defiantly get another piercing done by him.

Always a pleasure to work with Mark is so talented, along with the rest of the Madd team!

Got my Tragus Pierced by Spyder and he was so chill the whole time! Went with my 2 best friends and we all got piercings done. He made jokes to lighten up the mood and talled us through so it won't be as scary for a new piercing. Overall such a chill vibe and I WILL be coming back! Much love and respect! read more

I recently went to this shop with my friend to get a cheek piercing. The piercers name was Spyder, he was very rude and unprofessional. He continuously made smart remarks and had a bad attitude in general. But bc he said that he had been doing this 23 years my friend was still willing to let him pierce her. He didn't clean the surface of the area he was piercing, he pierced it crooked, and also with a plastic retainer. He also put a regular sized jewelery in so there was no room for swelling and after having this piercing for two days she had to take it out because her cheek was swelling so much the jewlery was no longer visible. read more

Joe Claypoole has been tattooing me for nearly 7 years. Before he joined the team at Madd Ink, I sought his services at Ink Spot in Cheektowaga. I have a half-sleeve done by him with birds and flowers, as well as a half leg-sleeve of tigers, and other various arm tattoos. His precision and attention to detail are impeccable. Joe manages to be exceptionally professional, all while maintaining a friendly and comforting demeanor. He makes clients feel as though he's known them for years, providing a calming atmosphere with music and conversation throughout the tattooing process. I could not ask for more original and well-done artwork, and I am so proud to permanently showcase the amazing talent of Joe. He has the ability to transcend multiple genres of tattoos, as I have some traditional, Japanese and realist pieces - each done perfectly. I will continue to seek him out for my next projects and to highly recommend him to friends and family. read more

Went in for a touch up on Friday. I already had an appointment set up with Dennis, who I thought did my tattoo last month. As it turns out, it was not him. My artist was named Jared, but he quit. Dennis was very caring, knowledgeable, and hilariously irreverent. He actually said this soon after we went in the room: "You know, normally I would charge you for this, since I didn't do your tattoo. But what kind of f**king shop would we be if I made you pay for this because your artist f**king quit?" He was actually supporting me for why I got the tattoo. As you might remember from my previous review, I got the tattoo, that simply says Mingus, to commemorate Charles Mingus's, a famous jazz musician's, 95th birthday, because he's inspired me more than any other musician. He made it darker, as it should have been, and he was just an all around cool guy. I don't expect to get any more tattoos or touch ups anytime soon, but I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo and I will tell them to go with Dennis. read more

Worst Tatto Ever! I went to Mark Madden for a cover up because I heard he was the best in the area. HE IS NOT! The tattoo looks like a big black blob. He cant even color in the lines he draws. I wish I could post a pic of this monstrosity so others can see what he did to my arm and what I now have to live with for the resat of my life. read more

Completely unprofessional. I had gone to the shop last Monday to set up an appointment with an artist, he took all my information and told me he would send me pictures of designs through out the week. My appointment was that Friday. He also told me he would email me to remind me about my appointment the day before. Thursday rolled around and I hadn't heard from him. I messaged him on Instagram because that's the only way I knew how to get ahold of him considering he never emailed me. It took him all day to message me back and he told me he had to cancel bc something had come up (no big deal yet) and that another artist would be able to do it for me. He told me he gave another artist all of my information and rescheduled for the upcoming Monday. I never heard from this new artist so I drove all the way to the shop the day of my appointment just for him to tell me he wasn't feeling well and I should reschedule. Now, I understand things come up but he had all day to contact me so I didn't waste my time driving 45 minutes to the shop and then back home. Also he was rude to me when I told him I wouldn't be coming back. I spend my whole day with clients and if I wasn't feeling well I would let all of my clients know hours before. Just really wondering why I had to going out of my way to contact both of these artists for them to cancel. read more

awesome experience! absolutely in love with my tattoo! mark madden is the ultimate professional and artistic skills are unmatched! tysvm

I went to mark for my first tattoo at 18...over the course of 8 years or so I had mark do up some pretty sweet tats.... im not gonna say a word about price...very reasonable. ..not gonna say a word about the work....great work.... I am gonna say that over the course of 8 years or so you'd like to think you develope a friendly relationship with the dude putting ink in your body for the rest of your life..... eh ... not the case... mark is a busy dude...I get that...so when you scheduele a tattoo with him and you wait 3 months...you want him to tat you .... so after rescheduling time and time again and waiting 3 months here and there to get a tat you've set your sights on ..you start to realize that you're not that important to the guy...especially when he pawns you off on another artist there because he forgot your appointment. .. ive sent friends and fam there for the longest. ....the dude isnt good at keeping an appointment. ..bottom line..very unprofessional and and I will not be returning to mark madden for a tattoo... I dont care if he tattooed ray j or dennis rodman.... im not letting an unprofessional put anymore ink in my body ... it would just be a reminder that the tat you have came from a guy ya dont respect....that being said....tattoo removal is expensive read more
