I was so glad to see this shop find a permanent home on Seneca Street, in the neighborhood I grew up in. As soon as I heard about it, I started following their socials, which led me to the artists' individual Instagram pages. I scheduled with Brynn at Grey Havens because I had been following her on Instagram for a while, I loved her style, and her eye for details in nature. After we talked about what I wanted, I would need 2 appointments with her, at least 2 weeks apart, so I had to set a reminder to schedule each one a year in advance. I didn't mind the wait. Anytime my family asked what I wanted for Christmas, birthday, etc. I did tell them Gift Cards for Grey Havens, which softened the cost. It was definitely worth the wait. I'm in love with my tattoo. I spent lots of time chatting with staff at the shop during my visits, everyone is friendly. You can tell that this is a very positive environment, where all of the artists support each other. read more

I was looking for an artist to cover up a 20+ year old tattoo. My friend recommended this place and said Dave is "the coverup king." I sent an email on Aug 13. Heard back on Aug 28, and after some back and forth on designs, was able to secure an appointment for the end of October. (I didn't mind. I consider it a good thing that they are so busy. I just wanted to let folks know in case they don't get an immediate reply.) The entire appointment was great. I was taken right in, and due to the chest placement, there was a screen set up to make the area private. Dave is a great conversationalist and has some fantastic music suggestions. I was concerned about blending in those dark black lines, but the majority of them are completely covered. You can only see the remnants old tattoo in a couple small places, and even then it's only if you look very closely (which no one is. I went to Grey Havens for my very first tattoo and I cannot thank Brynn enough for making it such a comfortable, fun and enjoyable experience! I chose Brynn to do my first tattoo because I loved her artwork, especially the delicate flowers she enjoys tattooing. I reached out to a few artists before deciding on going to Brynn, but as soon as I started discussing my ideas for the tattoo with her over email, I knew that she was the right artist to go to (and I'm so glad I did). Brynn was extremely perceptive when discussing tattoo ideas - she is very easy to talk to and easy to trust because you know that she cares about her art and she wants her clients to love their tattoo. I sent her many pictures/examples of what I was imagining for my first tattoo, and she managed to take elements from each example and draw the most beautiful lotus flowers in her own unique style. What she designed for me was exactly what I wanted and it came out even better than I imagined! When I met her in person, she made sure I was comfortable and walked me through every step explaining exactly what she was doing. Brynn has a calming nature about her so the appointment was actually quite relaxing and it flew by! The line work came out so clean and the shading/dot work added so much detail, the flowers look so realistic and beautiful. I could not be happier with my first tattoo and I cannot recommend this shop and Brynn highly enough! My fiancé and I will definitely be coming back for more tattoos in the future. I love this place! I have got all my tattoos done by the shop owner Dave and he and everyone in the shop are great people. Not only do you get great work from any of their artists you also get a great atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable and welcome. They listen to exactly what you request and make sure before they start it is what you want. From the time they have opened they have been a community partner and great asset to their community. I will always recommend this place because people always ask where I get my work done because it is always so good. They are expanding and bringing in guest artists to bring the best work in the country to Buffalo along with a piercing section done by professionals.
