Unfortunately my spouse involved in a major car accident in NJ and was medivac to this hospital…read more Being in any hospital especially seeing a loved one in this type of condition is never easy. However, the staff here made me feel welcomed and assited me any way they could. Originally my we were in the TRU (Trauma Resuscitation Unit). This floor is not for the faint of heart as it is the first one you arrive on once your have been flown it. It is like ever hospital drama you have ever seen with people rushing around in large teams. Once they were able to get him stabilized they moved him to the 6th floor to the CCRU (Critical Care Resuscitation Unit) to get ready for surgery after which he was moved to T5S ( Multi Trauma Intensive Care) where he stayed for weeks. This is where I felt the most support from the nursing and doctors as they were truly more hands on even with family. Giving tissues as I needed to cry, making sure I was as comfortable as I could be staying overnight beside him. Your dedicated trauma team (you have the same doctors from day one)On these floors it is one dedicate Nurse that sits between two rooms to constantly watch monitors and have large windows to view patients at all times which I personally found helpful during this stage. Eventually as he improved he was downgraded to the north side of the 5th floor and then finally down to the 4th floor before being discharged to impatient rehab. You are in a single room during all these floors until you get to the 4th floor. Depending on your needs you will be placed either with a roommate and have a TV that comes from behind the bed on an arm or be placed in your own room. No matter the option all of these have their own bathroom so you no longer have to leave and go down the hallway. The food court there is actually pretty good. The sushi/ramen restaurant was definitely my go to along with the pizza restaurant. The cafeteria (limited hours) was a hit or miss but the onion rings and chicken sandwiches were always available. On the plus side the Subway is 24 hours so you can always go that route no matter the time. The coffee shop offers Starbucks coffee and some of their drinks but definitely not your typical one. Security is very serious about badges especially overnight ones so make sure you always get those from the unit secretaries and pay attention to the announcements as some can get snippy if you don't do it right at 8pm. You cannot get back inside the building either at the front doors after 8pm either and will have to walk all the way down the block to get in. Always remember to get your ticket validated so you will pay a cheaper rate for the garages and be careful is walking by yourself no matter the time of day as there are a lot of addicts sitting outside the doors as well as a lot of young kids (saw two that tried to snatch a ladies bag), which is crazy when you think as there are a ton of security outside the hospital even with dogs. Recommendations: While none of the floors have the best of views it is nice to be able to look at out. The 4th floor from what we understand use to be the psych ward so you cannot look outside with these windows because there is a special film on it. I definitely think this should be changed! Inform all the nurses (Wasn't until halfway through our 2nd our of 4 weeks) that we had a nurse put in the system a companion meal tray. So up until this point I had to buy meals multiple times a day. Once this was put in I was able to order my meals and eat along with my spouse which was nice and gives a sense of normalization. When you have family that is staying multiple nights especially ones you know are not from the area (i stayed overnight for a month) not once did anyone mention that the bathrooms in the hallways have showers that are available. All you have to do is ask a unit nurse and they can unlock it for you to take showers. This would of been more nice knowledge to have so you arent constantly have to wash in the sink. Also would recommend the hospital may be looking into getting some type of laundry facility for guest since some stay for long periods (. No matter the floor the night shifts seem to lack a little bit especially when using the call button and the secretary or nurse techs answer. They always seem more bothered then the day ones. Also the night shift doesn't stay on request as much compared to day either so you will definitely have to request things multiple times. Special shoutout to the nurses that stood out the most to us: Lauren and Khris (male) on 5th floor south, Gabby 5th floor north, and Kiana on the 4th floor. The PCTs that made our stay the greatest was definitely Jordan (while he was on the 5th floor but she said she normally worth's the 4th) and Ronnie on the 5th as well. Sean from transportation was also just a friendly person we kept running into our last week and was always helpful to us to push the wheelchair and others in and outside the hospital.

It's definitely not a place you'd choose to be unless it's necessary. Our neurosurgeon Dr. Aarabi and the ICU nurses and techs were just incredibly compassionate and experienced. We felt that my husband was in the best of hands. So encouraging and kind. We will remember their gentle kindness for a long time with much gratitude. Unfortunately, all the good things pretty much end there. The front info desk people and others you encounter around and about are not very kind. They speak sharply, and sometimes truly rude, which you really don't need when you are traumatized and grieving the seriousness of the injuries and visiting everyday. I'm in my late 50's. I really don't appreciate people speaking in a condescending tone like I'm bothering them.

This was the worst medical care I've ever received. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by…read morerude staff with zero bedside manner. It was not very busy at all. I was the only person checking in. Yet I was yelled at for asking simple but necessary questions about copays/insurance. It was a bad start. I was in Baltimore for a work conference when I tested positive for COVID-19, for the first time. Since I have an underlying condition, was concerned, and wasn't going to be able to get back to CA to see my primary care doctor in a timely manner, I came here for help. Instead of getting help, I was told they couldn't prescribe me any medication (not paxlovid, and not even prednisone for my cough/asthma) for me because they "didn't know enough about my medical history." Wtf?? Since when does an URGENT care need someone's entire medical history to give them help? This was even after they confirmed that my asthma peak flow reading was low compared to what it should be. They said I wouldn't be a candidate for the ER either- so where was I supposed to go?? They gave me a nebulizer treatment, which didn't do much, and told me to take mucinex, Pepcid, and follow up with my primary care doctor. I wasted so much time for literally nothing. Once I got home to CA, my primary care immediately put me on the medications I asked for and needed. DO NOT GO TO THIS URGENT CARE.

First statement ever received from them, no invoice received. It didn't credit the insurance payments that were sent. It miscredited my out of pocket payment as an insurance payment. I used EOB and was proactive to pay. When talking to the rep I was told the hospital billing isn't their issue. Then why is on the statement you trying collect money for. The bill is paid in full between insurance payouts of over 4000 and my copays and they still want money. Based on the other reviews about immediate collections I am awaiting to see if they get it fixed. I was told to call back in two weeks, after the due date. Rep had a piss poor attitude that sours the experience of an other words good surgery and surgeon. EDIT: for reply from owner. I provided all the details to the rep including EOB benefits paid and dates paid. If you want the details talk to your rep as I have already given it.EDIT: I had the insurance company contact the "billing" department and they said the invoice was sent to the billing dept for review. The insurance company states I have no liability because the office forgot to send in pre-authorization. Their loss not mine, " According to the providers contract advanced notification was required for the service but was not received. Therefore, the applicable administrative reimbursement reduction was applied and deducted from the provider payment. According to the providers contract the patient may not be billed for the amount of the administrative reimbursement reduction," So to reiterate, they screwed up and then are trying to screw me. 1-star now for leaving the insurance company rep on hold and not resolving it when contacted by the insurance company directly telling them they were breaking their contract." STAY AWAY if you can. EDIT: 3 calls- no resolution. supervisor will not contact me. 3 months no refund still, 3 MRI's, 2 CT Scans and now 4 doctor visits went to other places because of this money they will not give back. Telling me to go to a website to leave feedback when I am directly calling is disingenuous to the people that read reviews as there is no resolution but said to try and make your sh!tty company look better. give me back my d@mn money.

Paid off a bill 11-24-20 and was sent to collections 2-28-21. Spoke to the 2nd employee and she said that this was their fault. They update the credit company every 30 days and they have just sent out that update. Then Kiesha tell me that I then have to follow up with the credit company. Like I did something wrong, to make sure they take it off my credit report?????? I asked to speak to a manager cause this is effecting my credit and I am in the process of buying a house, Kiesha said that she will have one call me in 24-72 hours......... that was 5 days ago. I am pissed. They have awful customer service, I have spoken to 3 different employees and no one can tell me what's going on other than it's their fault, and no manager call back. This has dropped my score 50 points and no one cares to make this right.I would recommend ANY other hospital/hospital center for your needs Over this one. Will never go back. Not worth all the headache and lies. Money hungry and no one cares.......
