Woman's clinic waiting room. Clean and pretty tidy.
Ashley L.

Appointment was at 1:30, checked in at 1:25, went back on time. Waiting room is tidy and clean. Not sure why the escalator is not operable. Women's clinic was very nice and I was seen promptly. Provider was very thorough and made sure I had resources to contact other departments as needed. Nearly no line at the pharmacy. 5 min wait for labs which was more than reasonable for 2 phlebotomists only. They were also as helpful to guide me to another location I needed. Out front the Security dude smoking *RIGHT* in front of the no smoking sign under a camera is crazy though. Should probably address that- especially if he's the same one who scolded me for being a civilian trying to park. (Crazy thought that people can be pregnant after their military service- I know.) That's where the two stars go. Especially since I've seen another reviewer stating the exact same thing. Another issue is how no one from the county services will take you to the VA? (Cops, emts, ERT) Why is that not even a thing? They will take you to the opposite side of the county but not the VA that's in the center. Should probably review that contract...

My wife needed surgery and a special treatment only available at Hopkins. The surgery was…read moresuccessful and she spent a night in ICU and 4 additional night in a regular room. 95% of the staff (doctors, nurses, techs, etc.) were super nice and attentive. My wife had a spacious private room and I was able to sleep there on a super uncomfortable sofa for the duration. I appreciated this as my wife had never spent a day in the hospital and was very anxious. The building is dated and nowhere as nice as Sibley where we would normally go, but the attention and service was great.

I should have looked here to see the 2.5 star rating before I even reached out to them but I had…read morecalled because I saw lots of good ratings for a specific doctor there who might be a fit. Called Johns Hopkins Hospital today to try to schedule a consult. I started off saying that I had an MRI with certain results noted and wanted to schedule with a certain doctor for consult. I was given a lot of pushback by the scheduling person that I needed a confirmed diagnosis. We went back and forth multiple times and finally she was like oh your MRI note qualifies as a confirmed diagnosis. Wild considering I said it a couple of times already though I don't know what exactly a confirmed diagnosis is as a patient! Then she proceeds to ask for all this information on DOB, address, demographics, and other info. Creates an account. She only asked if I allow texts from the clinic for notifications but not if she can create an account. Then says you still need to gather your medical notes and imaging then upload in one spot and fax in another. Then subjected to a review before knowing if I can see this one doctor. Or I can go on their website and pick another doctor to request a consult and that doctor will confirm if it's a fit. Either way it feels like it was an invasion of privacy without consent or desired outcome...I only want to provide all this info if we're actually scheduling something and I thought that was where we were headed. It was not. I feel like this process has major data privacy issues - creating an account without asking me, collecting personal data without need, and just wasting my time in not even being able to set an appointment. I provided all of this only to find out that no we can't schedule an appointment yet and I never gave consent to creating an account like this (got a text message saying an account was created) and would not have if I knew I was not being scheduled at the end of all this back and forth. It should be upfront that this is the process then asked if I want to proceed. Instead, all the data was collected then I was told. The initial pushback suggested that I had to undergo a review by a group of folks to approve for Dr. He to see me because I didn't have a confirmed diagnosis. Then it turned into this is just the process in general to see him. Overall, process was incredibly frustrating and I would not wish it on anyone who is going through a trying medical time. 1. Pushback based on saying I didn't have a diagnosis when I already shared what she was looking for even if I didn't know what she was looking for 2. Pushback trying to redirect me back to my PCP for a diagnosis when I shared the MRI finding and that my PCP said it is best for a specialist to handle next step as we were not clear what to do 3. Pushback saying I need a group of people to review my case to see if the medical circumstances qualify for Dr. He to consult on because I supposedly didn't have a confirmed diagnosis - fine but then we confirmed the diagnosis and then it shifted to this is the general process 4. Pushback that I misunderstood her pushback that I either do all this legwork of collecting paperwork and uploading and faxing in two different spots to hopefully pass this mysterious group review to schedule an appointment or find another doctor and request a consult and hope they believe it's also a fit While I don't doubt the doctor is great, the front door to clinics is incredibly important - not only to help ensure the providers can focus as much as possible on what they do best but also being responsible in how they interact with patients and their data.

Changed providers to someone under the LifeBridge Health umbrella and I have to say I am impressed…read more I think we can all agree that switching doctors is a drag of a process, but it was a pretty seamless onboarding for me from Hopkins. Filled out an online appointment request form and had someone call me the very next day to route me to the correct office for scheduling. I thought the next opening would be months later - given that many offices are reducing #s of patients seen daily to space appointments out better - but they had one the following Monday. You mean, I don't have to wait six months to see a specialist for my dire healthcare needs? How rare is that?! I immediately got the patient portal sign-up and paperwork emailed to me. The portal is much more intuitive than the one at Hopkins, with the ability to message doctors you're seeing across the LifeBridge system. Two thumbs up experience for me.

Kristian is kind & attentive. 1) I'm 65. Been on the same scripts for over 30+ yrs. Months fly by like weeks! Obtaining convenient additional refills (even albuteral inhaler) are not issued. I can't even get the 3 script refill option to receive discount. No win for me, having to add to my monthly to do list: 'call in/follow up on'refill's'. Life is too short; surely for the old-timers! Doesn't help the office staff admit they are delayed in filling all scripts timely due to the high volume of patients. I no longer allow pharmacy to call Drs for refills, no longer call the office, as thru trial & error the patient portal is most effective; not flawless. Unbeknownst to me, 1script is reduced from 30 day refill (3.5 doses a day=105 pills) to a 20 day refill (3.5 doses a day x 20=70 pills). This means, every 15 days I must begin the crappy process to TRY & obtain a refill. *Last month (ex) took me over 2 wks to get a refill. Pharmacy called in refill approx 4/10. As of 4/20, LBH had not contacted pharmacy, to refill. Had to call office myself. Refill not ready until 4/22. Was in withdrawal from Alprazolam until refill date. Who compensates me for how terrible I felt & what I was not able to get done? Guidance, new Dr availability, office hrs, office billing protocol (friend was seen 1 time. Wasn't asked to pay. Was mailed a $25 co-pay from a collections Agency), prescription refill preferred process & current name of facility, etc, would be helpful. Many patients have taken to FB to vent, share & learn of alternative options. We truly miss the staff who had become family to all of us & our former Drs. The empty spaces remind us of what used to be. Thank you! mcarney5758@gmail.com

Parking was half-a-block south, with a covered walkway to the reception desk. Reception here was prompt, with an escort to the admitting room. Admission was friendly and efficient. We had an assigned time, and preop started about 30min later than we expected. This was communicated to us in advance, and the waiting room was comfortable enough. During prep, we met the team members who would do the procedure, including the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, a doctor and a nurse, and an intern . All communicated well and gave us both information and confidence. The procedure went as-expected, and the surgeon spoke to us directly afterwards, again communicating well and in detail. Now, ten days later, we can say that the of the procedure, the outcome, and the aftermath were all exactly as-described to us. These are great, caring staff. All of the staff whom we encountered were efficient, communicative, and friendly. In addition to giving us confidence, we got the sense that they liked working together, which gave us an extra feeling of comfort in a somewhat stressful situation. We couldnt have asked for a better experience.

As a first-time mom, I expected more communication, guidance, and information during these visits. Instead, I often left feeling like my concerns were not addressed and that the appointments were a waste of time. Another major issue was the difficulty contacting the office directly. Being required to call a central headquarters and constantly being transferred made it very frustrating to get simple questions answered or handle paperwork.
