The deck has failed miserably! After 11years, the pressure treated wood has rotted, it is not safe. We are just waiting for our building permit and the stairs and deck will be replaced, but not Prestige! The actually offered nothing as far as a warranty or even a break on a rebuild! I was told by Alex, if they replaced the failure of the installations they have done, the company would go bankrupt! Now, not all the decks and other structures they have done have failed as horribly as ours. They did offer me an estimate to do a new deck, my answer was no even though they cheaper than the company we are using! Alex also told me it was not his companies fault but the government because the arsenic was removed from pressure treated wood. H e did fail mention that the grade of wood that was used was not not premium wood. They used cheaper wood but still charge for a superior product, that is the only explanation for such a horrible failure. They should have offered to replace the structure at their cost if they cared at all about customer service. And no, we didn't count on it the replacement being paid for, we are completely prepared to cover the cost!

You are charged at least $850.00 for him to visit your property to review the work that is needed to be performed. That fee is added to your final bill. (2) His claims of STONEWOOD are suspect. His is extremely evasive when additional information is requested - referring you to the "internet". When one does a web search on "STONEWOOD", it goes his web site. He REFUSES to provide any information on that product, including an MSDS. His price for "STONEWOOD" is at least 100% times of that of what seems to be an equivalent product from Home Depot. He delivers that "STONEWOOD" product in an unmarked 2.5-gallon plastic container. When pressed on the STONEWOOD "lifetime warranty" he claims it's with the manufacturer (which he refuses to provide any additional information AND one cannot find on a web search) warranty, not with him. (3) His "Deep Wood Fungus Killer" seems to be nothing more than a highly concentrated bleach solution. (4) He WILL NOT allow you to purchase your own supplies. He claims his "4 times retail" charge is needed to allow him to pay his subcontractors. (5) The payment schedule in his contact is biased toward him. He demands cash/check payment with every milestone the he defines. He does not accept credit card.

AMAZING! If I could give Whitmer Decks six (or more) stars, I wouldn't hesitate…read more Cliff Whitmer and his entire crew--Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, and Keen--truly knocked it out of the park from start to finish. From our very first meeting with Cliff (the company owner!) to the final walk-through with Sam, the project manager, the experience was exceptional every step of the way. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Not once did we feel anything less than a top priority. Texts were answered within an hour, and emails were always returned within hours. That level of responsiveness gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Mike, Pavlo, and Wade were the primary builders, and they were phenomenal. They treated us like rock stars during the entire three-and-a-half-week build. Mike, the lead carpenter, took the time to explain every phase of the project in detail, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Whitmer Decks removed our old deck and built a beautiful new 14x12 screened porch, along with a 10x10 deck and staircase. I'm no professional photographer, but the results speak for themselves--we are absolutely thrilled. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can fully enjoy our stunning new space. The craftsmanship is simply incredible. These guys are true artists. Every time we look at the work Whitmer Decks completed, we're blown away all over again. Thank you to Cliff, Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, Keen--and Spark Roofing as well. You are all amazing, and we will not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone who asks. I want to mention that their estimate/upgrade process was incredibly easy and actually fun to work with! Each upgrade came with about 5-10 photos that were VERY helpful in envisioning what the final product would actually look like! With gratitude, Shawn Purcell

They poured a concrete patio over the high voltage electrical lines which I understand doesn't meet code. Our contract clearly states that Dream Builders will install drainage as required. After the first hard rain storm, see photos and video, Dream Builders salesman Rob, claimed that no one could foresee the amount of water that would drain to the patio. Looking at the photos, it is very easy to see that the downhill grade of the parking lot comes toward the patio. Yet a professional deck builder stated that it couldn't be predicted because they did not want to pay to make it right. Water has been inches from our door during several rainstorms. Late this afternoon, Dream Builders emailed us and stated that they would not be completing the job and offered an unfair partial refund for a fence and incomplete drainage along with the mess documented by Tom Keogh. Please examine the photos and video and form your own opinion. Update #1 We received a text message from the Dream Builders Project Manager stating that they would come fill in the holes that were left open and clean up the mud. See the attached last 3 photos. Stay away from Dream Builders at all cost! If everything goes well, everything will work out with Dream Builders. As soon as any problem arises they will cease communication, stall and attempt to turn the issue on the customer while asking the customer to pay for their mistake. After severing a high voltage wire, it took 6 months for Dream Builders to make an insurance claim and get the electrical fixed. The owner (Nick) and salesman (Rob) have zero moral courage and did not show up on our site since June of 2023. You would think the owner would be concerned about making things right but look at the last 3 photos, those were taken post cleanup on 15 Dec 23.

For those who don't want to read this whole thing: We don't recommend dream builders and suggest…read moreyou use a different company. We hired dream builders to replace the back porch on our house. We wanted to move from wood to the more permanent and long lasting Trex building materials. We also wanted stairs to the ground which we did not have on our porch. We were thrilled with the initial presentation. We hired them for, what was for us, a pretty large project. We were very disappointed and wish we had gone with a different company. - dream builders does not employ the workers. Our project was sub-contracted to a carpenter who sub-contracted to the workers he brought every day. On any given day, we had no idea who was coming to our house. We rarely saw an employee of dream builders. - In the demolition stage of our project, the crew ripped through both our underground downspouts and our sprinkler system requiring both to be repairs. I was informed that the contract requires me to put flags were all of those are located throughout the yard. Since I didn't, they are not responsible for the damage. I have no earthly idea where all of the sprinkler lines are laid throughout the yard. I find it hard to believe the workers couldn't stop when they felt a little resistance so they could determine if the item was important and fragile. It seemed lazy and unprofessional. It also seemed like a fine print scam. - We made an adjustment to our plan as the project got started (moving where the stairs reach the ground). We were provided a picture of what that adjustment would look like. When the stairs were about 1/2 way done, it looked nothing like what we expected. The stairs now were going to terminate right in the middle of our patio opening. We protested and we were told that the picture couldn't look exactly like the finished project; it was just an estimate. ??!!?? Are you serious? Even if that is the case, which I don't believe, we were never informed that such a result was a possibility. We were then charged more for them to correct what I fully believe was their error. Though they came down some in the cost they intended to charge us, from this point on we felt uneasy about the project and again scammed. - Included in our project were lights for the stairs to illuminate the steps. The finished project looked ridiculously amateurish. The wires were strung up under the wood panels with simple nails and remained totally visible. The power box was simply placed on a couple of nails driven into our siding. Nothing was wired into the house or stored in such a way as to look nice. It looked like I could have done it myself on a weekend project. Again, we protested and were told that the job they did was standard procedure. They don't employ an electrician and what we were asking for was both unrealistic and expensive. For the size (and cost) of our project, it deserved to look better. - Speaking of the electric box, the lights were merely plugged into our outdoor outlet. I asked of the safety of such an arrangement and was surprised it could even pass code. I was again told it was standard procedure. I was later told (by a contractor I trust a whole lot more than these guys) that the arrangement was neither safe nor up to code. He fixed it for us while doing another project (free of charge, BTW). - We had the wood posts under our deck wrapped to look nicer. Some of the posts were a bit taller than the wraps however and the wraps were not secured; they could slide up and down. - the project did not actually meet code initially. The carpenter did not install 2 x 8 beams under the bottom of the porch for extra stabilization. This was corrected but it makes me wonder where else they cut corners. Speaking of which, while building the upper landing for our stairs, we saw a small chunk of wood fly off as a result of being hit with a nail gun. Rather than replacing the board that now had a piece missing, the worker just kept on nailing. Agin, we were assured the piece was not structurally required and nothing was wrong with the board. In the end, the porch and stairs are completed and look adequate structurally. I have little doubt that they will last and I have no concern with my family being out there. That's the end of the good news. The process cost far more than we thought it should have for the work they did. The communication and interaction with the company was substandard. I did not appreciate having our project subbed to someone who then subbed it out again. We felt cheated out of money for their design flaw. The accessories look no better than doing it myself (we hire other people for a reason). We paid them a significant amount of money (at least for us) and it constantly seemed like they were trying to cut corners and maximize their profit instead of focusing on a great finished project. I wish we had gone with someone else.

Among the things he called me was "fucking idiot" and "coward." He also wanted to "meet" me somewhere. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We needed some major repairs to our deck railings which were in danger of coming apart. After searching Yelp and Google, we came across this business and it looked as if they were exactly what we needed. Their website specifically mentioned no job too big or small and that they specialized in the type of repair we needed done. Based on the positive reviews on Yelp, we really wanted to hire them. So, on the morning of September 3rd, we called and left a message on their answering machine giving them our name, phone number and a very brief message about what we needed done. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for a return call. The good news is that we got the repairs done this week by another contractor we had used in the past for other things. Sorry to say, it appears this company is out of business. It's too bad; it looks like they did good work.

Unfortunately he had taken on one too many contracts and hired a subcontractor who was awful. Showed up late daily, brought their child to our home (which we would have been liable for if an accident occurred), worked few hours, never met commitments, used bad or broken equipment which resulted in an inferior deck, etc. A two week project lagged on for months. We asked Dennis several times to intercede and correct the problem but he said he didn't have the capacity not means to do anything about the problem. Dennis then had the audacity to want payment for a complete job when only at 85%. Stupidly I paid him in full. Deck was never completed. The only reason I gave two stars was he was inexpensive and choose to use an ex-convect trying to get his feet back under himself. Sadly Dennis didn't take responsibility for any of the poor quality workmanship nor the sporadic and delayed work that occurred resulting in numerous delays. My husband and I had to finish the job. I would not recommend him.
