I have been a commercial contractor for over 35 years. This is the type of company you always seek for but never get. They have performed new construction, and multiple patch jobs. The finish product always matches perfectly. The smooth Santa Barbara finish is exceptional. This type of finish is difficult for other companies. The work site is always clean, neat, over and beyond all others I have ever dealt with. If you're reading this wondering if you should hire them it would be a mistake not to. read more

Madalex Plastering fogcoated my stucco and made our home look like new. The previous stucco was 35 years old and was discolored and in terrible shape. They were professional, courteous, cleaned up after themselves and even did a walk through with me to make sure I was satisfied. They spent two days prepping which included fixing damaged stucco, filling holes, and they even took down the direct tv dish on the side of our home. Jose's crews were awesome, and I highly recommend them and would use them again for any stucco project. read more

I am a disabled Vet that has to watch my projects and money. I'm a perfectionist to boot. Jose has now done two projects years apart. I kept his number for over 5 years. His work was flawless. I told him he was my stucco guy. He came back out, remembered me and completed the second project. Again his work was perfect. I will never use anyone else when it comes to stucco work. I know people are sceptic when it comes to reviews but you can trust this review and Jose. read more

Jose and his team were great! We needed a stucco patch around a new electrical panel. Madalex Plastering gave us a very fair price, worked with our schedule, and did a great job blending the patch with the existing stucco. The area was left clean after each visit and we are very happy with the results. read more

After comparing MANY contractors and stucco specialists, we decided to go with Madalex Plastering which I'm very pleased with the end result. Jose the owner was knowledgeable and patient when we ask him questions, and I asked A LOT OF QUESTIONS after we had a horrible experience with our bathroom remodeling with a general contractor who lies and forget about what he said and has horrible attitude that left us with PTSD for about 3 years. Jose communicate great and the contract is very clear on what we agreed on which made us feel a lot better knowing we are dealing with a professional. Some of the workers don't speak English that well, but there's this guy Jose who's not the one gave me quote (we'll call him Lieutenant Jose) but he's on-site most of the time throughout the job who's extremely courteous, professional and would address all the questions we have. The project took a little longer due to some foreseen and unforeseen issues, which accompanies with extra charges but I guess that's just part of the construction business. Anyway, after months of the mess with living on the construction site, we are happy with the result and I would recommend Madalex Plastering. The price is definitely better without going through a general contractor which is just going to sub work to specialists anyway(if you don't mind project managing yourself) They also have one-year warranty and Jose told us to call them in 6 month to do another walk through to check if everything's good, if not then they'll retouch/repair them. Side-note: don't bother to water your grass where work is going to be done, they are gonna die LOL Just save that water and hassle knowing you'll have to redo them after the construction, make sure you budget it in! read more

Had an EXCELLENT experience. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with Jose Sanchez, a consummate professional. Pricing is better than fair, workmanship is beyond expectations, and above all, working with someone that is professional, trustworthy, and a genuine good guy is all anyone can ask for. The workers were kind and respectful, they took pride in their work. I was kept apprised of any delays and/or changes, and change orders were submitted. Nothing was ever added without my approval. There was never any upselling, he actually suggested some options that actually cost less and took less time. My property was kept clean and tidy throughout the project. I had an excellent experience working with Mr. Sanchez, he was always available and always answered his phone/text, communication was excellent. He was always around checking in on the project, and he has an excellent rapport with his crew, which says a lot. He handled my project like it was his own home. My home looks excellent! I highly recommend Madalex Plastering! read more

My wife and I have been in and around the home remodel industry for many decades and fully understand the value of a contractor who is BOTH talented and customer oriented. Jose and his crew provided both at a significant patch-match for the side of our home. Crew was courteous and extremely efficient. Color match nearly perfect. Great response time. What sounded a tad expensive before we started proved to be a great value when done! Easy to recommend these folks. Will certainly call them again when the other side of house is in need! read more

This is the second time I have used this company. Jose and his crew are very respectful, they do great work, and the area they worked in was cleaner than when they started. From the bidding of the job to the end the communication was fantastic. If I have work in the future they will be my first call. Removed two windows and a door and it looks like they were never there. read more

Replaced a few windows and doors and needed the broken stucco repaired. Jose called me back the same day and came out and gave me a fair quote to do the repair and do a smooth stucco finish in the area. They were on it for 5 straight days and it came out great, nice lines, no cracks, good clean up. Will use them again. Half of the companies I called before Madalex never even called me back, the other half gave me outrageous bids - I have done numerous remodels so I know what this job should cost, and Madalex came in right were it should be. Jose recommended I use black metal channels around the windows and doors, and he was right it looks very finished and professional. Quality company that does quality work. read more

Jose and his crew did an excellent job on our re-stucco job. We decided to do a white Santa Barbara smooth finish and it looks fantastic. They were professional, fair and understanding every step of the way. Once the job was done and weeks had passed, a couple of cracks showed up, which is absolutely normal and they decided to drop by and fix those as well. I highly recommend them. read more

I highly recommend Madalex Plastering. Jose is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. His crew did a fantastic job repairing the wall and stucco around our newly installed exterior electrical panel. The repaired wall and stucco patch are a perfect match to the existing texture and indistinguishable from the rest of the wall. We have have used Jose and crew several times now and are extremely pleased with the quality of the work performed and and knowledgeable input. Highly recommend! read more

I called and left a detailed message and they never responded. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion. They obviously do not want my business.

We have had our stucco worked on several times through our builder by another company. Thank goodness our builder now works with Madalex! Jose came out and assessed our issues and set out to color match our stucco for repairs. He and his crew are professional, conscientious, and respectful of both the property and grounds. They have a great attention to detail and follow-through in completing the job, even better than expected! They are dependable and go the extra mile, and don't cut any corners like the previous company did. Jose communicated with us throughout the entire process and only considers the job complete when all parties are happy. Excellent experience and we will definitely be recommending Madalex to our family, friends, and neighbors. read more

Jose and his crew came to me through my contractor (the best contractor in the SCV, by the way). It was a big job... lots of repairs and a really big house, 30 years old, and still with the original stucco job. The first thing that impressed me about Jose was, as we were discussing options for the house, he explained there were two processes he would recommend. One was very expensive and one was less than half that cost. Then we took a look around the house and he said in his opinion, he recommends the less expensive option. He knew that our #1 goal was to make the house look great for the next 30 years, and we definitely could have been sold on that expensive option. But the guy has integrity... And sure enough, the house looks amazing. I had no idea this house could look so good. Obviously his crew is very talented at their jobs. But just as important, they were all very professional... attentive and polite.. always showing great respect for our property, always making sure even the smallest detail was attended to. If you are looking for a company that can do a stellar job, be totally honest, and treat your property with respect, you should definitely call Jose and Madalex Plastering. I would recommend them to my mother, and I would tell her not to even bother getting a second estimate. read more

I rarely write reviews unless I am absolutely impressed and satisfied with the work that has been done. If you are looking for a company that does stucco the right way, look no further! Madalex Plastering is excellent. I hate dealing with contractors mainly because as a female, they are always telling me what I should have done, as if I have no clue about what I am looking for. They don't listen to what I want done. That's where Jose was different. HE LISTENED! He was the 3rd person (out of 6 that I contacted) to come out and give me an estimate. He listened when I told him I wanted to re-stucco the house and garage, fix the walls and corners, and cover up various unwanted holes. The other 2 contractors were more interested in selling me something called "Cool Wall", telling me what color I should put on the house and garage and what color I should paint the woodwork (which was contrary to what I wanted) than listening to what I was requesting. The corners on my house were pretty much non-existent. A corner on the garage had been carved out by the previous owners to accommodate a large wooden post. The front of the garage had one side crumbling and some large cracks above the garage door. Jose told me what the process would be to fix everything I had concerns about. He also made some suggestions about some of the doorways on the house that just added a nice finishing touch to the entire project. He told me that he would give me a choice of 3 colors to choose from when they were ready to add the color coat. His crew were all very nice and respectful. They arrived on time everyday and when they were done for the day, cleaned everything up so nothing was in the way. Any questions and/or concerns I had were either addressed by Jose or his crew. I was initially leary about all the "5" star reviews, however, they are entirely justified. Save yourself some time and frustration. If you need stucco work done, you will not be sorry in choosing Madalex Plastering. Thank you Jose and crew for saving my sanity and my house! read more

Jose Manuel Sanchez Lopez provide a verbal quote over 60% of the allocated standard rates in this field and said that is just the way it is. We were insulted as He attempted to price gouge us. I suggest that you all read up on the laws in this area. I only post 5 star and 1 star reviews. Yelp is a forum of free speech to advocate for good businesses and reveal those that are questionable. The date and time stamps on my messages are all of the proof I need. I inquired on stucco, you attempted to take advantage of us. Not a good thing. Integrity wins always. You did not measure the house nor inspect its condition, you were unprofessional by trying to pick a newly painted area with your hands my husband had to ask you not to do that. You breezed by and threw out a number. We are not desperate. I am done. Thank you for your time. Moving on. I phoned him countless times before he was able to come out. He said he would phone me as soon as he arrived in the office, no call. I attempted to call again. Today he showed up after several vm's with his pants sloppy hanging off of his bottom, no business card in hand and a verbal quote. We respectfully decline after experiencing all of this. read more

Jose and his crew did an amazing job on fixing the stucco on our house! Our builder had hired a different stucco subcontractor who messed up many aspects of the existing stucco in our house. The builder couldn't find a new subcontractor to come in and fix the work so I started out to find someone determined to get my stucco fixed. I found Madalex (Jose) through Yelp and thank heavens we did. He came in and tackled a job that no one else was willing to touch. He had a full crew at the house everyday that he said he would, and that crew knew how to do stucco work. It is always a challenge when you have to come behind and fix someone else's work, but Jose and his crew mastered the challenge. Not only I am happy, but the builder is happy with their work too. In fact the builder now intends on using Madalex for the other homes they will be working on in our neighborhood. Thank you Jose!!! read more

Jose and his staff did a great job for re-fogging stucco in my two properties. His staff matched the color correctly. The price was very acceptable. I used this company 4 yrs ago for a complete Spanish smooth stucco exterior. It wa a big and expensive job. But worth it. I love looking at my beautiful exterior of my home. I've gotten a lot of compliments. Now, I needed help with a stucco repair, as I prepare for solar panel installation an electrical panel upgrade was necessary. My house is 30 yrs old , after removing an old panel plus a sub panel and a whole bunch of added pipes , a lot of stucco around those boxes had to be removed in the process. Final electrical inspection for this work included repairing the stucco to code. Jose responded to my call quick and had a team out for my time sensitive job in a matter of days. They matched my stucco color and got the job done quick with no issues . They are great to work with, now my job has been satisfied by inspector and my permit on the way! I can post pics of your two days job. Plaster patch two pilasters for a couple hours. Let dry. Come back next day to paint. In the beginning you even wanted me to do the paint job myself. I had to ASK you to do the whole job. You showed up in your Camry and asked me to write you a check before you did anything and I got no paperwork from you until I asked you for an invoice. All I'm saying is buyer beware. Future customers should be wary and definitely get a quote from a reputable company first. I feel like I paid $150 too much. You told me the extra gallon of paint you had to buy was $55.00 so you charged me $100 more for the job. I just called Sherwin Williams and they quoted me $34.34 for the exact same gallon and I'm not a contractor. There's the truth. Happy New Year. read more

I was looking for a skilled stucco team to complete major stucco work on an older home as our prior contractor just seemed to disappear in the middle of the job. I called several companies and decided to go with Madalex and what a great decision that was ! Jose came out and spent a good deal of time looking at the home and offering up options to complete the work. While they are not the least expensive I do feel they are worth every penny for the premium workmanship, excellent communication on project status and a firm commit to insure 100% client satisfaction. We were extremely happy with the work his team did, and 4 months later when we had a small issue he responded promptly to have some of his men come out to fix one small area. Madalex Plastering, especially Jose the owner, did a tremendous job re-stuccoing two sides of our house. We previously had cracks in our stucco patched by another company, and we weren't happy at all with the results. I then called Madalex Plastering, and Jose came out to our house that same day to discuss our options with us. We decided to re-stucco the two walls, and it looks beautiful! This is a family business, and it shows, with the personal and friendly way Jose treated us. They crew arrived each day exactly when Jose said they would, they covered everything, and they cleaned up afterwards. They had to sandblast the existing stucco off, then they had to add a layer of cement, and then the final step was applying the stucco finish, and it matches the existing stucco on the other walls perfectly. Jose was on site every day, and he would walk us through the day's schedule, so we understood beforehand what the crew was going to do. I would strongly recommend Madalex Plastering to anyone who is considering having stucco work done! read more
