two bowls of food
Vincent S.

I think this is a perfect example of food. That is exactly what you expect. You know with multiple locations that this is a chain restaurant in the Ottawa area, and you want something that feels healthy with some quality ingredients, but you know that it will not be overly extravagant. For the price I think it is very reasonable It gives you a great selection of different protein, options, including tofu, chicken breast, even battered haddock. The portion of the protein is a little bit smaller than I expected. So you may want to order a double protein if you feel like you are very hungry. I would say that the size of the salad is actually quite substantial , so I think it'll fill you up. It gives you so many different options, including the base you want which can be rice, rice, and mixed greens, or just mixed greens. I was even surprised at some of the bowls include avocado or guacamole since these expensive items, usually now incur additional costs The only downside of the food items is that I think there are rather basic. I would expect people to be less than 10 ingredients. It is good, but also basic. If you or someone who likes to buy food that you don't think you can make yourself this may not be for you

Walked in and was greeted by a cheerful person who made sure we knew how to order and that they had just opened. Salad choices are fabulous. Out of about 15 choices I could order 15 of them. For a brand new place they had their systems down. The only thing that was confusing was where to go to order. Walk to the back. Fill With It salad was great and hubby gave a positive comment on his Mad Panzanella. Portions are generous. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes

I love I love coming to the Mad Radish in Ottawa. Especially the one on Bank Street. You can get a healthy meal and enjoy yourself and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Great place for vegetarians and vegans and for anyone who just wants to eat healthy. I had the spicy mango salad. It was pretty good. It included tofu but there wasn't all that much in it and the salad was dry, meaning not enough dressing. I wanted to order some chicken for more protein, but then it would have been a 20 dollar salad... Our table also had the mushroom soup. On the positive, its vegan and on the negative - its vegan. Mushroom soup made with coconut milk just ain't my thing. The place is very sterile looking and Holy Jesus, was it cold in there!! I'm talking really uncomfortably cold. It was so bad, I had to step outside and stand in the sun for a few minutes to warm up midway through my meal. If you have trouble with stairs you might not like this location as they've just got three tables on the main floor and everything else, including the bathrooms, are up a fairly steep flight of stairs. Kudos for having biodegradable everything!!

Fabulous looking falafel salad bowl. Absolutely love the eat-in recycled bowl and tray, as well as the biodegradable fork.

I did not feel like Mad Radish was worth the hype at all. I found the bowls pricy, not filling and nothing special at all!

Then I wanted the Taco Shrimp salad but was told they didn't have any shrimp either. For real? So I ended up getting the Cobb salad, which was $10.50, and contained spring mix, grilled chicken, bacon bits, avocado, grape tomatoes, and chopped egg. It usually comes with your choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing, but to the dismay of Cobb Salad purists I opted for the balsamic vinaigrette instead. You can get a free little piece of bread with your salad. The ingredients were fresh. I felt that there wasn't very much chicken in it though. However there was a lot of egg. I think there must have been like 2 eggs in there. I really liked the balsamic dressing. It was tangy yet smooth. The spring mix was a true spring mix, not mostly romaine with some token leaves of other greens like some places. Overall the salad was good, but I felt it was overpriced, and it didn't have anything really special about it. However, it was one of the few healthy choices available in the food court.

We were happy that we did decide to give this place a try, as it was everything that we had expected, and more! When we walked-in, we were greeted by a young man, that asked if we wanted take-out or dine-in. We chose dine-in however, the restaurant was quite busy at the time so, we had to be seated at a table near the front entrance. Upon sitting, we noticed the iPad that was on the table for ordering. We were also given paper menus to look at, which was easier. Once we had placed our orders, we waited only about ten minutes for our salads to arrive, along with the hummus and pita bread. The salads were absolutely amazing; the bowls were filled to the brim with cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and feta cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and that dressing, WOW; it was delicious! It tied the salad in so well, it was the best salad we had ever tried at a Greek restaurant. The hummus was also delicious, with heated-up pita bread creating the finishing touches. This hummus was definitely homemade, and marvellous! We even asked for an additional pita, as the one we had wasn't enough for the four of us. This appetizer was definitely a great start! Once our main meals arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were. And the homemade sauce on top of the rice was wonderful; I don't know how they made the sauce, but it was perfect with the rice. The chicken was tender, with the tzatziki sauce not being needed often due to the tenderness. The potatoes were huge, and deliciously spiced. The meal was massive, and we couldn't finish it all; definitely worth what we had paid for! Throughout the entire meal, the server checked on us, bringing us water when we had asked, and making sure we were well taken care of. As we were leaving, the owner/chef asked where we were visiting from, and if we enjoyed the food. This place was hands-down the best Greek restaurant that we've ever been to; down to earth family-owned, amazing food, and great hospitality. Will definitely be back, and would recommend that you all try it as well; you won't be disappointed!

This location has as much character as the old one, but of course in a different way. The first thing I noticed walking in was the colourful floor tile. It made me happy. They still have a simple menu with good choices: soups, sandwiches, bowls and baked goods. Service was pleasant and speedy. It was a beautiful spring day so we took advantage of the large patio to enjoy some sunshine. Food was as good as I remember. I had the salmon bowl while hubs had a chicken squishwhich, basically a grilled sandwich. Happy to have re-found Good Eats.

I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. The food is delicious but you're definitely overpaying and 50/50 on the coffee lol
