I think I need to divide up my review. The initial painting process would be 4 stars but the customer services end when picking up my pieces would be 2 stars.
Let me explain by saying I was part of a bachelorette party & we rented out the room so we could have snacks & make mimosas. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had everything when we set up & they explained all the paints/glazes then let us do our own thing. The room was big and has a refrigerator and a counter, so we had plenty of room to set up our food table. The only downside to the rented room would be that you don't have complete privacy. They have two entrances/exits and 1 of them is in the private room. So we had complete strangers walking in & out of the party every 10 minutes or so. Also, the only restroom was located inside of the party room. So again, more random people walking through a bachelorette party asking for the restroom. We had kids walking up to us as we are sipping on mimosas, so it was kind of awkward. Not that our group is rowdy or gets crazy, it just wasn't the privacy we had anticipated with our $50 deposit. We could have saved that money & just sat out with everyone else. Overall, we had a great time.
The part that would get 2 stars would be when it came to picking up our party. Since we were in a party of 5 people & I work the closest, I volunteered to pick it all up for everyone. They took down all my contact info, home address, phone number & e-mail and said it would be ready in a week then contact me when it was ready. So a week goes by & I haven't heard from them but we did it on a Saturday, I let it slide that they were busy. Finally two weeks go by & I call them asking what happened to our pottery pretty politely. The girl on the phone got snippy with me and said I should have picked it up a week a go & it's been sitting here waiting for me to come get it. I explained that I was told I would be notified when it was ready and she said they never do that & I should have known to come back in a week. I was like ok but I have you all my contact info( I mean why let it sit for a week when you have every form of communication to reach me & the rest of the party). She just said you misunderstood & hung up. Horrible phone customer service. I then picked it up that day and when I looked through the bag to make sure all of the pieces were there she gave me a snooty look. I don't live close to this place & with 5 pieces, I just wanted to make sure everything was there b/c I wouldn't be driving over there again.
The pieces turned out great and the initial experience was good they just need to work on communication. I don't see how hard it is to call the customer once the pottery has been fired & is good for pickup. Instead, just let it sit & get snippy b/c the customer was told by employee they would be called. Work on customer service. read more
