    Mushroom pizza

There's quite a few mixed reviews for Mad Pizza but I have to say it was great. We originally wanted to go to Buffalo dining club but when we heard there was a 2 hour wait (gahhhh!!) we decided to go to Mad pizza instead. I'm very happy we did because we ended up having a lovely dinner. Firstly we ordered the 1.5 litre bottle of rose which was beautiful (we needed it for a long overdue girls dinner!). We ordered three pizzas to share - garlic prawn, mushroom and 4 cheese (with chilli which was a nice surprise) and they were delicious. The bases were thin and crispy, toppings plentiful and delicious. On top of that the staff were so so friendly and lovely, I really have to thank them or their wonderful service the whole night. Definitely worth a visit!

Located in Darlinghurst, Mad Bar is a great place to have dinner and drinks before hitting up the clubs. They do an *excellent* pizza, I highly recommend the pepperoni. They also have a great DJ on most Thursday/Friday nights, so give him a wave, it'll make his night. I'm sure it gets boring up there. The music is excellent, the food is delicious, and the crowd is fun, as is the crowd in most of King's Cross. Enjoy!

Situated on the lively Victoria St, Mad Pizza is a great place for a reasonably priced dinner, and a bloody good pizza to boot! They also have a modest, yet decent wine list (majority of them by the glass too, which is a bonus), so you'll have a good choice of liquids to wash down your tasty pizza with. The toppings are certainly generous, which won't please the traditionalists who enjoy their's thin, cripsy and with minimal additions to the tomato, cheese and basil, but for those of us who just enjoy a flavour bonanza, this place is great! On my last visit, I had the Tibia (shredded lamb shank, grilled eggplant, red onion, rocket and yoghurt dressing) - $19.20 for a large - which was an excellent choice (go me!) and was definitely enough to share thanks to the generous topping. The location is ideal for people watching to, and there's not many of us who don't enjoy a bit of people watching! There are a few seats inside, but if it's a nice evening, try and get a place outside. All orders are placed at the bar, so don't sit there and hope a waiter will come and take your order, because you'll be waiting a while! But they bring it out to you, so that's good - I hate juggling food due to a slight issue with clumsiness that comes with holding more than one plate of food. So as the summer months approach and casual, outdoor eating and drinking becomes appealing again, head to Mad Pizza e Bar!

Had the pepperoni which comes on an ultra thin crust pizza base with tomato and olives and opted in for chilli.

The cute bar staff with their hipster big rimmed glasses, styled hair, and low-rise skinny jeans, are not only very attractive, but offer up some acute knowledge on the origins of their wine list, and bar food. To start we were sheltered from the horrible weather outside, to a small thin table, which was a tad too long for proper conversation. Although, with olives and bread, good wine and good music (although a bit too loud) there wasn't much room left for an intimate conversation. We shared 3 plates, starting with the Burrawong duck's liver pate with sweet and sour onions for $14, which was smooth and divine, although the onions were a bit on the small side. Second we had buffalo Mozzarella with shaved prosciutto for $15 which melted in the mouth, the creamy cheese was godly. Third we enjoyed the Sashimi style Whitebait served with olive oil, lemon juice, and mint, thinly layered and served, it was sweet and tangy from the acidic lemon, and smoothly soft in texture. The wine list was amazing, and next time I will get the waitress to explain to me each wine of choice, as the extensive menu put's a damper on being indecisive.

In Sydney, Eau de Vie is better translated as a dim and sultry bar responsible for some of the most creative cocktails in the city. Make reservations, and consider coming during the week when the crowds may be a bit more tolerable. They also boast some specials such as $1 Islay oysters on Thursdays and in Whiskey and Cheese Wednesdays. The Wednesday special is a particularly great deal as 40 AUD gets you a pairing of 5 cheese and 5 whiskies. On our visit, we managed to get lucky with Japanese Suntory whiskey night. Getting to compare the Chita Grain, Suntory Kakubin, Hibiki Harmony, Hakushu DR, and Yamazaki DR side by side was not only a treat for the palate, but made it easier to identify distinctive differences between each. The cocktails themselves come with quirky names, and list of unique ingredients. Lapsang Souchong, red miso, and even Parmesan were used to compliment the various liquors. Most importantly, they manage to slay on the taste in addition to the creativity factor. Not sure how long they stay on the menu, but for example the Black Lantern (Laphroaig 10 yo whiskey, Chivas 12 yo whiskey, coconut and red bean milk, with salt and sesame) was a well balanced masterpiece. The Popcorn Flip (Martell VS Cognac, Curaco, White Chocolate, Honey, Egg, Popcorn; Served Up) was like dessert in a glass. For those looking to pair their drinks with a bit more, Eau de Vie has small "Grazing" items such as potato croquettes, and pork terrine. Also, they offer larger "Plates" like steak slider (severed with 3) or scallops on the half shell. If all that wasn't enough to whet your palette, they adtionally have either single serve selections of meat and cheeses or tasting boards with an assortment of items ready to order. All in all a solid selection to savor alongside your drink of choice. While finding the speakeasy-esque bar off the street may not be the easiest feat, it is certainly worth the effort to do so.

This was our last stop on a secret bar cocktail birthday crawl for the ages, and by the beard of Zeus did it deliver. Straight up, a massive fanboy shout-out to Joy and Camille, who went out of their way to look after us with smiles and good grace even after we were super late for our booking courtesy of some neglectful service at another bar. They looked after the every person in the place with fun, courtesy, care and laughter, here are two hosts who love their jobs and man, it makes for a shit hot experience as a punter, I didn't want to leave. And the cocktails. We'd been slugging booze for the last 4 hours and these still blew us put of our pants and into something more delicious - a White Negroni and a Smoky Bacon Old Fashioned are my new favourite tipples (see you in hell, whisky sour, your services are no longer required). Classy, romantic, fun, fabulous, and everything in between. Best.

Each tasting plate that arrived was savoured from the moment it landed on the table, by friendly and courteous staff. There was pleasure from the way it was so artistically and creatively delivered , amongst shells, pebbles and rocks, and then when eaten how delicious each and every piece was. I was accompanied by two "old" girlfriends and wanted a place where we could hear ourselves think and have a long awaited catch up. This place was perfect. Elegant , stylish and away from the busy streets lined with noisy crowded "cheap and cheerful" places. of my friends and I consider ourselves qualified "foodies" knowing a little more than some, having eaten and personally created many a decent dish or two. The sounds that came from our table may have been reminiscent of the film "When Harry met Sally", fortunately for us we were sitting at an outside table and not heard by others, however we were just in heaven with each and every bite Can't wait to go back , the experience , not just the meal itself was truely amazing. PS. If you're a little hard of seeing or have just spent a small fortune on your teeth, I would consider taking a small torch, whilst the dim lighting was appropriate it could result in one accidentally thinking the decoration was the food and have you with an undigestable shell in your mouth and then another expensive trip back to the dentist for repairs.
