The closest place to authentic Mexican food in Sydney CBD.
I'm from California... Santa Ana, CA to be exact - the Mecca of bomb.com Mexican food. I lived 20 meters from one of THE BEST taco stands in the city, so I've been a little jaded eating "Mexican" food in Sydney.
For any of my American YELPers, this place is like Chipotle:
* Choose your main (burrito, taco, quesadilla...)
* Choose your meat (beef, chicken, pork, steak...)
* Choose your filling (rice, beans, salsa, cheese...)
This trip I tried a Small Carne Asada (steak) Burrito w/rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa and lettuce. I only wanted a small burrito since I was still full from my ramen lunch. But for only $2 more you can get a larger burrito (Small $8.80, Regular $10.90)
The marinated steak was a little dry, but overall tasty. The fresh salsa and veggies were a perfect balance. The kids behind the counter were courteous and friendly. It was overall a good eating experience. However, I had to knock off one star for portion size and price. The burrito looks like it's massively packed, but another half a scoop of steak would've made the burrito nearly perfect.
