The Mad Lavender farm is such a special place that is thoughtfully cared for by it's special caretakers. We have visited a few times now and attended sound healing & a cacao ceremony hosted by Leslee Penny and have had so many connected experiences with the people, the land and of course, the lavender. Thank you for sharing this land and loving intent with us.

We love this place! We have been going to Mad Lavender every June since 2017 and it has been so amazing to watch this beautiful little spot evolve over time. Adrienne and Don are the nicest, most welcoming people and do a wonderful job of making you feel right at home. You can sign up for picking lavender, baby goat yoga and more. Every trip, we are sure to visit the Little Shop and bring home all sorts of soaps, candles and other lavender infused products, made with love by local artisans. This is a "must do" experience in June/July and we highly recommend! Oh, and don't forget to taste the lavender lemonade made fresh daily! Did I mention baby goats???

Unfortunately, this is not the year to go to lavender farms in New Jersey. The lavender was so scarce due to the excessive rains. The owner told us that they're trying to figure how they can overcome this problem in order to have thriving lavender. We did see a beautiful purple flowering plant. Check out my pics. At first, I thought it was lavender. One of the owners told us it wasn't lavender. It was called a Nepeta Plant. I checked out Nepeta. It's AKA is "Catmint" like Catnip (same effect). An Indian teepee stands behind the Nepeta plant. One can sign up for a goat yoga sessions in here. The farm has a small souvenir shop with (of course) everything lavender scented- candles, room mist and a few other items. The dried lavender we purchased barely had any scent. Hopefully, the NJ lavender farm owners can figure out how to make their lavender farms thrive. Mad Lavender Farm is located way way off the beaten path at 452 County Road 579 Milford, NJ. You travel 78 West towards Pennsylvania. After that, you travel down very narrow winding roads to get to this destination.

This is such a quaint farm! My friend and I attended goat yoga here and had a blast. The goats are adorable and playful. We all had so much fun playing with them and taking lots(!!) of pictures. We even got to hold them and bottle feed them. It was an all-around great experience and it's impossible to not walk out of there with a huge smile on your face! While the lavender crop isn't doing well this year due to the weather, it's still a great place to visit and check out their different lavender products. We tried the lavender lemonade which was good, as well as the lavender shortbread cookies which were out of this world! Definitely a must try.

I've been wanting to try Goat Yoga for over 1 year now. I'm so glad I booked the partner yoga class for my daughter (she's 12 ) and I. It's a little over an hour drive from where we live and it was totally worth it. The farm is so quaint, the class was intimate and the instructor was great! The goats were so cute, you have the opportunity to feed them, and at one point I had 2 goats on my Back! Lol.. It was a wonderful experience to have, especially with my daughter. Afterwards, we went shopping in the the tiny shop on the farm, where you can buy homemade lavender items. What a memorable experience! I will definitely be back to check out future events. If you're looking for a cool place to take a goat yoga class don't hesitate to sign up at Mad Lavender Farm!

My first time here. Attended the Sound bath & goat yoga event. Goat yoga has been on my list for a couple of years. I'm glad they are still open & putting together these events. Event was held outdoors in open air as opposed to the teepee. Plenty of open space to maintain social distance. Great vibe. Very welcoming. Peaceful. Awesome products. 100% recommend. I'll be back for future events.

So much fun! Forget yoga, this is get comfortable and play with baby goats! The instructor was very sweet and down to earth. She led the class to experiment with participants to make a bridge for baby goats to romp over you, or the group posed to make L O V E (super cute). The farm is large, and is home to chickens too. I loved the out door sink area in a rustic hut and of course lavender soap. There is a small gift shop for snacks and toiletries and tshirts. Beautiful sunflowers. Outdoor portable potty. Bring a second pair of socks! Great place for a girls day out or couples date. She also can host small parties.

I purchased 3 plants in January for pick-up in May. It was an effortless pick-up and the plants are lovely! I will come back.

Can't wait to go back when the lavender is bloomed. Very cute place to stop, check out their little store and the goats on site.

Ask the Community - Mad Lavender Farm

Are dogs allowed on the property?

I wouldn't think so because of the goats and the chickens. However, you can check their website and or call them. They are very responsive.

When is it the best time to go to get the best experience? What months in the year?

The owner told me in June

This orchard was one of the last ones to still have apple picking available in the first week of November which we were super grateful for. Since most of the remaining apples were on the top of the trees they were thoughtful enough to provide ladders across the orchard which was support useful and made our experience fun and enjoyable. The instructions were very simple and were had the best time enjoying ourselves in the orchard. The apples were absolutely delicious and we also bought other stuff in their store. The apple cider was delicious and so were the Donuts. The donuts were not too greasy and fried perfectly unlike a lot of other places which I absolutely loved. I grabbed a bag for my friend who also loved the donuts so much!! One thing I would love to see here is maybe some sort of savory or fresh food options, like a crepe station or panini situation. I would have loved to sit outside in the picnic tables and have a sandwich. After a whole day of apple picking that is probably the only thing that will push this 5 star experience over the top. If you are looking for a fun, family friendly outdoor activity, please come here!!

We didn't want the day to go waste so that's when I found Phillips, a pick your own fruit farm. It was a Wednesday afternoon at around 1 pm so the place was pretty empty. I can see the lot getting filled on weekends though, especially since it didn't seem that big. First, you check in. There's a board that tells you what fruit is available for picking for the day, as well as the price per pound. If you pick a fruit that's not in season, you'll have to pay extra. But don't worry - the groves that aren't ready yet have signs by them to remind you. Next, you let them know what you want to pick and you either get a large bag (for the larger fruit) or you can buy a small plastic container (25 cents) or large bucket ($2) for berry picking. There is a sign that warns you that if you pick a bucket full of berries, it will end up costing $50. I think that's a nice reminder because you can definitely go pick-happy in the fields and it will add up very quickly, before you even know it. We decided to go with elderberries, peaches, and plums. I wasn't a fan of the elderberries but I'm glad I tried them since I'd never had them before. The peaches and plums were amazing though. I don't normally like plums because they're too tart, but not these! We spent about $25, which I don't think is terrible. Plus, there is no entrance or parking fee like other farms have so at least you save on that too. They have apples ramping up for the fall now. It's a bit of a drive for us but I had a really nice experience so I may consider making the trek again.
