Kim chi dumplings
Yvonne M.

A fun lunch date, really enjoyed the Kim chi dumplings and Parmesan truffle fries were amazing, so crispy! Tried the soy garlic and spicy version, omg it was super spicy! I would opt out to try regular version with no sauce next time. Server was super friendly and atmosphere was nice with bar and TVs, fun vibes!

I went to Mad for Chicken at Astoria to grab a quick bite. The store, although it is on the smaller side, was very nice and cozy. When it came to me and my friend's experience, not only was the food delicious but the service was great as well. The servers were very diligent and made sure to check up on me. I will definitely be back when I am around the neighborhood again.

Best halal Korean fried chicken I've had in nyc!!The chicken was so tender it was almost melting off the bones. At the same time, the coating of the chicken was so crispy, had the best crunch ever. Their fries were also really good! 10/10 would definitely visit again

Ok... I will start with the food. It did not disappoint. I'm talking finger licking good. Everything we order was fresh and delicious. The service was great, and I have walked past this place numerous times. Today was the day. Today we had Servas as our server he was wonderful. He went over the menu with us and let us try the additional sauces. However they were spicy for me. They have plenty of seating for you to sit down and enjoy yourself. The drinks are great along with a fantastic happy hour menu.

Crispy Chicken Bowl & wings combo

Was excited to go since the food is halal now. We got a combo ($12ish) 5 wings (garlic soy) with 1 side (fries), Parmesan truffle fries which comes with ketchup & spicy mayo ($11), crispy chicken bowl ($15). The soy garlic sauce cuda been stronger. The wings & the Parmesan truffle fries were too crispy for me. The fries were def over cooked. Was disappointed in these 2 dishes. The plain fries were better since they were less overcooked. I liked the chicken in the bowl better than the wings. I despise raw cabbage, unless it's kimchi, so I didn't like that the chicken bowl contained raw cabbage. The selections of veggies cuda been better. Can't say I'd like to go back.

I enjoy going to Astoria Mad For chicken, is smaller than the normals ones but I feel that makes it more cozy! We had a flight of Soju for $20 which was really good deal! The food was delicious as always and I feel the location, central astoria, makes this location great! The bartender was the main server which in some sort of way is easier cause he is very attentive to what we want !

Last Saturday I stopped by to try the brunch menu and the bottomless I was sold by the bulgogi eggs Benedict unfortunately I was not explained eggs weren't served pouched so I got what literally was two hard boiled eggs I put the eggs aside for my server to noticed I wasn't happy but he didn't realize until much much later When asked me what was wrong I mentioned I don't eat hard egg yolk I didn't get an answer back other than oh okay Nor was I offered to get new eggs I work in the industry so I know the protocol.

Bulgogi bowl with fried chicken and kimchi sandwich with fries

The food here is full of flavor. The fries are perfectly crisp and tasty, they don't even need sauce, and that's how you know a fry is good. The kimchi chicken sandwich was very flavorful. My friend ordered the bulgogi bowl with crispy chicken and she enjoyed every bite. We also got complimentary popcorn.

My wife had brought home some mad for chicken the other night. She got me some honey barbecue wings along with there mango habanero wings. My first bite was the mango habanero wings. I said these are good. The sweet mango taste with the spicyness of the habanero sauce, goes great together, nice mixture. I also enjoyed the honey barbecue wings as well. I would order from them again in the future.

The second time, we had to deal with stupid bouncers or security guards before being let into their bar/pub. That's a huge turnoff for me, and it's only worth it for strip clubs and concerts. Sweet Afton is a hip Irish-style pub known for its craft cocktails, extensive beer selection, and upscale pub fare. It has a cozy interior with exposed brick and a sought-after outdoor garden area that is enclosed in the winter.  A few of their menu items include "Astoria's best burger" (using Pat LaFrieda beef), the Dirty Pickle Martini (featuring McClure's pickle juice), and beer-battered fried pickles. I learned that they have a sister pub called the Bonnie in Ditmars, which I have been to and had a great time. Last Saturday I came back for a third time. I was surprised at how things had changed; much more laid-back, with good customer service, good vibes, and one of the most delicious bar burgers I have ever eaten, with a side salad, in any pub or establishment in Queens. Furthermore, Sweet Afron had some nice alternatives to bear and larger, and I selected a cider instead. First, I was offered a sip, and then, upon my approval, a full glass of cider. In conclusion, I do plan to return!

We had our own dedicated server, which made everything feel really seamless. They kept our drinks flowing the entire time, and it was a huge plus not having to flag anyone down. For food, I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The coleslaw on it added great flavor (honestly, I just wish there was a bit more of it). It came with fries that were perfectly crispy--exactly how fries should be. Overall, I had a really enjoyable time. If I'm ever back in the neighborhood or if anyone asks me for a good brunch spot for groups, I'd definitely recommend this place.

My partner started off with a bloody mary which he thoroughly enjoyed (and considered opting for a bottomless brunch option until i reminded him that he drove here). I got the lemon ricotta pancakes which was pleasantly sweet, without the drizzle being too overpowering. The fresh fruits complimented the fluffy stacks of pancakes and was perfect for a light meal. My partner on the other hand, was famished and ordered the steak and eggs which he happily devoured. Service was great, our server was very attentive and never had us wait. I would highly recommend coming here for brunch!

We arrived around 8:00pm last Friday to an empty dining room and were seated immediately by the bartender, who may also be the owner. A few minutes later, another customer came in and sat at the bar. From that point on, the experience went downhill. The bartender focused his full attention on that guest and appeared far more interested in engaging with her than in serving the only occupied table in the restaurant (us). When he eventually approached us to take our order, his demeanor was standoffish and impatient. He removed our menus before we even had the opportunity to order drinks to accompany our dinner. His attitude made it clear that he did not want to be bothered with us. After some time, our actual server came to the floor, delivered our appetizers, and placed our drink order. He was attentive, professional, and ultimately the only redeeming aspect of the evening. While I understand that the bartender may not have been primarily responsible for our table, he made it apparent that his priority was his regular patrons, not new or less familiar guests. By 8:30pm, the restaurant became filled with what appeared to be their usual diners. I overheard the bartender and server sharing the evening's dinner specials with other patrons. At no point were those specials mentioned to us. We felt uncomfortable and chose to finish our meal quickly. The food was excellent, and I genuinely value having such a great restaurant so close to us. However, the service left a lasting negative impression. We felt dismissed and mistreated simply because we were not regulars. If we encounter the same individual behind the bar in the future, we will choose to dine elsewhere.
