They do NOT have an A+ service. They pay to be on BBB and only get that score for purely responding to the reviews. We've previously consulted with Mad City about a Bathroom renovation. It was a poor experience in that the original representative was two hours late and the second person they sent out (who indicated he was a higher rank/position than the prior rep) was rude. The prices are also unnecessarily high and that's after they have talked down the price three times (gross sales gimmicks). BUT, I was interested in a Kitchen renovation and saw an ad for home buddy.com that suggested it would give me the average/going rate for renovations in my area. After plugging in my information, it misleadingly connected me with Mad City. They texted me and I responded with "stop" per the instructions if I was no longer interested. But Mad City proceeded to call me twice that night and 10 times the following day. I picked up and talked a representative THREE times. I told them the website that I put my info into did not mention it was connected with Mad City and had I known it would, I would not have inquired. I relayed the negative experience that I was not interested in their services and the first caller was respectful. The second caller seemed unaware that I had responded to the first caller and hung up on me after I told him. The third time, I very directly told the caller that I had told two other callers that I was not interested and to stop calling me. He talked over me the whole time, like that was supposed to make me change my mind and work with them. Don't let them bully you too. read more

They have very pushy sales people, and are very overpriced. The will, and have pressured the elderly (my mother) into signing extremely overpriced contract/s with lock in dates that they are not able to ever back out of. I advise everyone to stay far far away. Instead get a local reputable contractor at a much better price and quality. read more

I saw an advertisement from these guys claiming a 75% off labor deal. I contacted them late Friday night through an email for their free quote. Saturday morning I received a total of 8 calls back to back from them trying to get the appointment set up..as well as a couple of texts (I should have stopped it there being as that's a huge red flag). I texted the individual that was calling me and texting me requesting we speak through text as it was my preferred method of communication. His response was "we'll only contact you if something goes wrong with the appointment." Fast forward to the appointment date the person that arrived was about 10 minutes late. I watched them walk up to the door. We put our dogs away and went to answer it and as I was walking to do so he was already walking away. (This all happened within about 30 seconds.) in this time frame I'm assuming he contacted the business saying we weren't answering because I received over 10 calls throughout our interaction in the house..Even after he left and we answered the calls saying we are no longer interested they still continued to call us. long story short we wanted a surround replaced and nothing else. But he was insisting on replacing pipes, tub, extending the surround, etc. even when we pointed out we didn't want to do all of that. He quoted us for approximately $12,000 for the tub and surround replacement. Oh and the Labor cost with the discount would be about $800 off... this whole interaction was a joke and a waste of our time. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to measure my tub and buy my own surround for a couple hundred bucks. read more

I was approached at my residence by a very polite sales rep for Mad City Windows & Baths services. In all honesty, I am making the assumption that based on my location; that they were based out of the Green Bay office but I can't be certain. I provided my information and I was asked if my spouse would be available for the quote / visit the next day. I recognized this as a pressure sales technique and I stated that they would not be available nor did they need to be as I would be managing the project. When I was being "verified" by the call center for MCW&B, I was again asked what my spouse's name was, I again stated that they were not available. I was told by the person on the phone that it was "required" that they be available to provide the quote. Needless to say that I immediately thanked them for their time but that because of their high-pressure sales techniques that I was no longer interested in their services. I am writing this not to highlight Mad City Windows & Baths as a poor service provider. In all fairness I have no idea how well they would have performed their services had they not tried pressuring me into a sales opportunity. But I can say that in my many years with the services industry, that I have never had a positive result nor built trust with a company that used these techniques. read more

Run far away from this business, I got convinced to get a quote from a guy who walked up to me while I was picking up dog poop in my yard. When the sales person came into my home he invited himself to set up his computer on my kitchen table and proceeded to put a quote together for a large window. Everytime we said we weren't sure he came up with a brilliant way to knock 10% off the price, this happened 4 times. Seriously either offer a fair price or don't at all. Beyond upsetting they just hope you say yes to the first # they give you, the $500 off for having someone come in is an embarrassment and nothing more than a trap to make you feel good. Sketchy car salesman have more honesty than these people. Alot of places can install a window but this place only wants to rail you on the deal. read more

Had an estimate from mad city yesterday, I am interested in having six windows installed. First of all salesman was late, then proceeded to talk to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Though I cannot leave a review on the services this business provides, I can leave a review based on the moral character of an employee I had an encounter with earlier today. And I don't know about the rest of you, but there is no way that I would allow a business into my home to provide their services knowing they employee people like this. I was driving on the highway on my way home from work as I always do when a truck pulling a trailer with the Mad City Window and Glass logo, whose trailer was to the left of my car, went from the far left lane, across my lane, and into the right lane, driving into the gravel of the exit they had missed. If I had not slammed my brakes I would have most certainly been hit. The employee then looked back my way after nearly hitting me and threw their hands up in the air with what looked like a rude gesture as if somehow it was my fault! I understand that bad days happen, but under no circumstances does that make it okay to nearly drive someone off the road. Would you want someone like this in your homes, especially if children are around? I think not. Please rethink your decision before hiring this company because if they condone this behavior, imagine what else they're letting slide. read more

By no means am I an expert but here is the story. We had 3 new windows installed September 2019....these 3 windows have condensation and have frozen shut, with ice forming on the inside of my house. I called the company and they stated it was normal and condensation needs to be wiped off!?!?! I have several windows in my house and none of them are frozen shut which I explained to the lady and she said that was because thier windows were basically doing thier job and keeping heat in....uhhh so why is ice forming on the inside of my house?!?!?! She finally stated if I wanted she would send someone out like it was an inconvenience because this is normal I have all Anderson windows except these three that were expensive and the sales rep stated these windows were the same used on skyscrapers....huh BS! They remind me of the Salesman joke; where the customer ends up in Hell because the sales pitch seemed so good. The sales presentation was good, however the rep was annoyed when I stopped the presentation to ask questions. This turned to rudeness as I had more questions. Long story short: the quoted price was way out of line. The presentation and quote took 2.5 hours. We never got the quote and list of work to be performed in writing. When I called to speak to a manager, I was told they would not be repairing the floor they will need to tear up to install the new plumbing. The sales rep said it would be a complete remodel, mgr said they don't do complete remodels and that I should hire a tile installer to finish the job when they were done. Had the mgr out to re-quote, He gave me a Take it now or stick with the old numbers hard sell push. He showed no knowledge of plumbing code, and the need to upsize my drain for the project. I politely showed him the door. Do yourself a favor, find another contractor. read more

We had whole house window replacement, 19 total. Sales person was a bit pushy and I was not going to sign any papers that night. However, my wife wanted this done and thought the quoted price which the salesman told us was acceptable. A second representative came through next day and we discovered the first guy left off one window. The 19th window was added and at no extra cost. We received noticed from bank that loan was denied, I expected to receive deposit back from MC; after 3 weeks, contacted them and was told loan was approved and windows were in process of being manufactured. Installation was to start 3 weeks later. Installation did not happen until nearly 6 weeks later. Crew of 2 appeared on day 1 but were 2 hours late. They were to come back next day but did not and when I called, was told they would be on-site next day. Next day turned into 2 days later. Discovered several of the windows which were supposed to be tinted were not and was assured by manager they would be tinted after job was complete. After completion, clean-up was done twice but still chunks of metal, wood and other debree still all around outside of hone and sawdust, screws and other trash throughout inside below or near windows. So clean-up was unacceptable but stuck doing it myself. Also received call from upper management of MC, stating the tinting would require new windows manufactured and would costs upwards of $ 10k or more with installation. This was proof of yet another lie and add that to delayed installation dates twice, poor clean-up, and overcharged; would NOT recommend others. Just have to hope, if anything does happen to these windows, MC will back up the guarantee and fix or replace at no charge and in timely manner. Buy I'm not going to hold my breath. One last thing, even if discussed with salesperson, read all the paperwork. Do not trust that all agreed upon was actually put in writing. It apparently was missing much of what we thought we were getting and price quoted may not reflect discounts, sales or quoted price. As ours didn't. read more

We just had out shower enclosure installed. For as beautiful as it is, it was supposed to go to the ceiling. It only goes to the end of our old enclosure. There is a huge gap under the unit which we would have to fix. We were told ALL work would be included. Aside from that, I found cracked and wet ceiling tiles in the basement (of course after they left), sawdust all over my patio and a huge wet spot on my basement carpeting. The upstairs was left very clean, but as for the rest ... Mad City is lucky they got my money this time because there won't be a next time! read more

I had Mad City replace my tub and shower. The tub is great as is the walls My issues are with the installation, the caulk looks like a 4 year old attempted it, the damage done to the wall around the surround was bad. For some reason they drilled a hole in the wall opposite the tub! Also while doing the plumbing he took a reciprocating saw to the wall cutting into another pipe causing water to spray not only all over our bath but, basement too. If he had looked into the wall first he would have seen the pipe. Then replaced our copper pipe with hoses. Hope it's to code. They were not a cheap install either. I had Tundra land do our other bath and it was a neat clean job. Don't waste your money on Mad city. read more

while the quality of the product is good, I am very disappointed in the bait and switch on reviewing the company. I received an email to earn gift cards for reviews - since I was satisfied with the product and work, I gave a good review on several sites. I then received an email showing I had gift codes for some restaurant.com app (which is of NO value to me) and not for the amounts promised in the email requesting reviews. I have emailed the company twice on this with no response. Product quality is good (if a bit pricey) but not at all happy with the customer service response and bait/switch on trying to get a good review. read more

Have had numerous projects done by "Mad City" however every time we have had "Mad City" come and do work on our house I would ask if the installer lives near here or where they came from and 3/4 times they were from ILLINOIS. Not even Mad City installers or employees. I am highly disappointed in the craftsmanship and my windows are just as drafty as the old ones. We had Ryan from Mad City come o ut to pitch their bath tubs, we did purchase a tub, but found that the things that we were told by Ryan that would be done, were not written up in our contract, therefore were not completed as we discussed. Make sure you read the contract carefully and have the sales person write every single thing that was dicussed in that contract. Regardless of how small or simple it may be, it needs to be in writing. Don't depend on the word of the salesman, but the binding contract. read more

Presentation from hell. It started out good until the quote came through. We tried to be polite by telling them they were $7,000 more than the last quote we received, and we weren't interested, but the sales person wasn't listening. He kept trying to sharpen his pencil. PLUS Mad City wasn't even giving us everything the other company was going to do for the remodel, and yet they were charging so much more. They didn't even have a shower head that we wanted. His solution was to buy their basic shower head and go out and spend more money on one we really wanted and just switch it out. WHAT?! Did we just hear that right! What a joke! The salesman was extremely unprofessional as he talked badly about the other company we received a quote from. He also gave false information about their product, which was done in poor taste. If you feel the need to do that, you must be desperate! The sales person wouldn't leave. He timed out his next appointment that was 45 minutes away and wasted time until it was time for him to go. What a horrible experience,not at all what we thought.A one day job(just a tub surround)turned into a four day inconvenience as we have just the one shower.Never showed up on time, started late each day and many mistakes along the way and now we have leak behind the wall and no fix by mad city we have pay to fix job that wasn't completed by a plumber to begin with. I ordered a window on June 27th of 2016 and had a change order put in July 6th of 2016 to change the color of the window. I was told that the window because of its proximity to the ground would be tempered glass. I also ordered the window with full screens. When the window arrived at the end of August it was installed and I noticed that the windows where not tempered glass and the windows did not have full screens on them. The initial installers also did not install the windows correctly. They did not put proper insulation underneath the windows and the windows were not pushed close enough together so the vinyl mullion strips did not lock into place. I immediately called a manager and told them about the windows. A manager came out with new window sashes but did not replace the large picture window in the center. Even though I told him about the picture window and the full screens he was unaware of the issue. I got an email shortly after for me to sign saying the work was finished so they could charge the finance company for the work. I called and told them that I would not be signing this piece of paper that says that the work is done when it hasn't been even close to be done. It wasn't until the end of September that I called back to find out when my window was going to be reinstalled to spec and I had to call back twice to get them to come out and do that. The young lady that answered the phone both times was argumentative and rude. The windows where finally installed to spec to solve the mullion problems in October. I signed a piece of paper that I specifically asked was just saying the work for that day was finished. I then at the end of October get a bill from the finance company that my finance has been charged with zero communication from Mad City Windows. Needless to say I was surprised because two major things still have not been done. The picture window needed to be replaced with a tempered glass pane and full screens needed to be installed per the contract. I contacted Mad City Windows very upset that my finance company had been charged for this and work is not finished. I got a hold of the owner, Corey who came out and assured me that it would be taken care of in a timely manner on November 2nd. It is not December 9th and I have had zero communication with Mad City Windows since then. Unacceptable. One window. 6 Months. I am also filing a complaint with Mad City Windows Contractors Licensing Board. read more

I wish I would of read all the yelp reviews before signing any papers with this company. reading these review it's like I was writing them myself. we did a custom install and it is a nightmare. the caulk job looks like a 5 year old did, they lie to you about not having independent contractor in your home, they come out to do repairs and I was told they were going to replace all the caulk(since I couldn't paint my bathroom, because they don't use paintable caulk) and when they got here they did not remove it they added more and it looked even worse. we have spent many hours trying to fix what they left us, and for the money I paid it was crazy. I reported them to the BBB and they just lied some more. They said they didn't know that were going to paint our bathroom. huh??? like ever. they made up a lot of excused and would not even give me a discount as I requested.
