I understand why they would be uptight about younger people inside of the furniture area, but a group of 4 of us actively talking about furnishing a house that we plan on renting for college is worth making a fuss out of to threaten to call management up on us is a little annoying. What made me make this review is that we had a group of girls on the other side just sitting in front of employees not talking on their phones. We met up with them and told them what happened and another employee said "we only yell at the boys not the girls" which is a little funny but also annoying. Tend to shop on line more now but not because of Covid- stores are dirty and crowded. Lines at checkout are always long because they are understaffed. This was a tradition in our family when Hudson's was on the marquee. Shopping then lunch- Maurice Salad and fresh popovers. Macy's - Department Stores Near Me - Taylor, Michigan

Went in there this holiday season to see what they had in terms of clothing for family members. While the staff is nice, it is still simply a dirty store. It is not at all what you would expect from Macy's. For the love of God, please invest in carpeting for your store. It is the same carpeting since you were Marshall Fields The ONLY good thing was that they seemed to have put more effort into the buy online and pick up in store program, and have less racks cramming the merchandise onto the floor. read more

I like this Macy"s it's a solid store. I had some coupons so I couldn't let those go to waste... Being somewhat of a fashionista them coupons were burning a hole in my bag plus I was at the mall.. The only thing is I had to use my in store credit card to use them coupons which I just paid off in March.. No matter this location is good found some good additions for the summer wardrobe and didn't break the bank, used my coupons no bigee pay it off next month. This location has very friendly and helpful service plus unlike other locations you can zip through the cashier line pretty quick and swift. All in all a solid rating love me some Macy"s! read more

Clean but worn. No one's noticed that the "a" is missing in "Lauren". Carpets are Humane Society clean. Tiles are chipped. Stock is minimal compared to Novi or Somerset. Most of the associates look terrified to talk to anyone. Kathleen on the third floor in Holiday and Kimberley on the first floor near the Yogurt place were the only ones with old-time sales spirit. Recently one of my ship to store order was sent to Macy's Southland store in error. It would have taken me over an hour each way to drive to this store to pick up the order. I was able to reorder one item in my order while the other item in the order was sold out. I contacted the store and left a message with the contact I was given, Elizabeth (Administration office?). Elizabeth called me back the same day and was very pleasant. She went above and beyond to ensure I would get my order. I received my order today. My wife was innocently entering the stock area while searching for the fitting room, in the women's apparel department. A Macy's associate, Linda, snapped at my wife who had an arm full of clothing, obviously looking for somewhere to change. The associate was very rude about about the mistake. It really hurt my wife's feelings. Nobody should be treated like this. I must add that much of the store is very rundown. read more

The star rating is based solely on the upkeep of the store. I went into the men's department and the carpet is so filthy and outdated. There was also a terrible smell I considered needing to walk out because I was grossed out. I'm thinking the smell comes from the dirty carpet. Oh how I wish I wasnt in a passive frame of mind when on yesterday 6/11/22 I was attempting to utilize my Mothers Day gift card. The young clerk who rang me at the Mac cosmetics counter was friendlly and customer service focused. We had a minor issue in reading the code on the card...but she was eventually able to read it and successfully ring me. Fast forward to someone I will refer to as "Becky" sauters over to womens clothing seemingly reluctant to provide service. She attempts twice to ring my order when she encounters the same issue the clerk in cosmetics encounterd. I showed her my receipt in which the previous clerk jotted the code onto. She advised me to return to cosmetics because she cant figure it out. ...(I walked away mindlessly left not demanding that she gets assistance from her manager... and I return to cosmestics and there's a different clerk with a line formed. I threw the article up on a display...sorry you dont get to play with me or my money. Game over. Where oh where is customer service training? I worked retail from ages 16-18 yrs old. Never would I ever treat a customer this way!!!! Online shopping is the way to go. read more

Love this Macy's location. Although they do not carry the higher end stuff like the Oakland County locations, they almost ALWAYS have great suits on their clearance racks that are not too picked over for aMAZing prices. The girls at the MAC Counter are helpful and friendly and I love the entire INC line of clothing. Awesome clearance sales all the time in all departments. Last time I was there, a cashier gave me a coupon to use without my even asking. One downside is the shoe department is almost always out of my size in shoes. But, maybe this is good since I have a shoe addiction, ;). read more

Used to love Hudson's, Marshall Fields, and now Macy's. I'm sure I probably missed a name or two. Anyway, I prefer the one in Ann Arbor. Briarwood Mall Circle whatever they call it. To me that's the best Macy's. Our last trip there was a couple months ago to purchase gift cards for Christmas. I know being in sales at Christmas is hectic, unpredictable, and doesn't bring out the best in everybody but wow!! Rude, ruder, and rudest sales associates I have ever came across. I'm not saying they're all like that but the one we had to deal with was. The only reason I am giving it 1 star is because a sales lady noticed the rudeness of her coworker and tried to be extra friendly because of his unprofessional behavior. BTW he was a grown man not a teenager, not in early 20's or even 30's for that matter. If you're having a bad day please call off, quit, go anywhere that doesn't involve dealing with the public. I would give the lady 5 stars who stepped in on his rude behavior. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She came from like 2 counters over in cosmetics just to be nice. Worst Macy's I have ever been in. They are doing construction so you can't get to the top floor, the escalators are not working, the layout is confusing and not easy to navigate. The clothes are thrown everywhere and are organized unlike any department store I've ever set foot in. Overall just go to a different Macy's or a different store- maybe it will be better when the construction is over but for now it's a huge waste of time read more

I went to Macys food court in Southland Mall and decided to get a chicken Caesar salad. The service was good, but when I went to back to work to eat my salad it look great until I began to eat and realized there were bugs throughout it. I was very disappointed because I stopped there on my lunch break; and the fact that there were bugs THROUGHOUT it. I'm sorry but it is very important to wash lettuce before you serve it. I was buying a homecoming dress and I went to FOUR REGISTERS and they were ALL CLOSED and the people who worked there were AT ONE but still said "I'm closed" LIKE JUST LET ME PAY AND LEAVE . I went to the store because a friend told me of a sale on FitBits. My initial experience was negative with the clerk as well as with the item I was shopping for being out of stock. However after I voiced my concerns to customer service I received a very prompt response from the store manager, Malika. I could tell that she was very serious about my initial complaint and she apologized for my experience and discussed ways that she is remedying the concerns I had. In a large store not everything is going to be perfect, what i appreciate from my recent encounter is that store management truly listened to my concerns and made a sincere effort to fix a problem. While I haven't really shopped at Macy's much in the past, I have to say that I am very impressed with the responsiveness of the store manager to my concerns over a small ticket item. I think the manager's commitment to customer service is the best I've experienced and so I'll be shopping here in the future. read more
