Two years ago I purchased two queen sized mattresses and boxsprings. One of the purchased mattresses was defective and Macy's was quick to resolve it to my satisfaction. The amount spent was well worth it to me because of the customer service. Customer service started the moment I talked to the salesperson on the floor until I received and was happy with the order I had placed. Went to exchange a present in the coat department in Springfield PA - finally found one I liked but it wasn't on sale so I asked someone and she scanned it on the customer's scanner - no sale. I went to the counter to return the coat (present) and the cashier looks at the receipt and says "Oh, CASH. I'm not sure...." I said I wanted to exchange it but the coat I want isn't on sale. She says "Everything's on sale - let me scan it." I told her about the other employee and she says "Let me scan it here." I went and got it and when she scanned it at the register, it was 60% off! This Macy's has a good selection of perfumes and colognes. The men clothing section has name brands like polo and there is a Mac makeup section in this store. I don't really think the clothes are that great for women I think they need to update the clothing selection for women. read more

I shop at Macy's basically because it's a large chain and it's one of the few remaining department stores that sells nicely made clothing at a moderate price. With that being said often I find Macy's to be a junk shop! They do not appear to have enough employees to clean up. Clothing is always on the floor and all over the dressing rooms. Now this is not a comment for management to show displeasure with their workers. Trust me I've worked in retail for years they do not have enough workers in the store. Not enough to sell or clean up the merchandise. My favorite place in the Springfield store is the shoe department. Although they could do a better job with having more options The sales staff is pretty friendly and helpful, especially Tyra. Another favorite salesperson is Avis in INC. read more

I don't usually shop at Macy's anymore. It used to be one of my favorite department stores, but things have really gone downhill in the last 10 years. When I go to a department store, that has moderate to upscale pricing, I expect a different kind of service than I receive at a discount store. maybe I shouldn't make that assumption anymore. Springfield Macy's feels and looks like a discount department store, but many of the prices do not reflect that. There is absolutely no one out on the floor to help you with anything. When I went to pay for my items, I stood in line looking at two Macy's associates having a casual conversation with each other and ignoring the fact that I was standing there. And this went on for long enough that they knew I was standing there. Had one of them said, we will be with you in a moment, I would've appreciated that. But I was completely ignored while they had a lovely conversation that ended in laughter. Then the gentleman that was free to wait on me, sat in a chair next to the counter and relaxed. I thought maybe he was on break. Then, finally I was waited on. There was no eye contact, there was no conversation, But I was able to purchase my items. I said thank you and this associate did not look up, she said thank you and turned around and walked away. So she did the bare minimum she was required to do. I was happy to leave with my purchase. Then I went upstairs to the Estée Lauder counter. I went around and look for someone to help me. After I found someone, she could not find the item that I needed, and simply said we don't have it. In the past if they didn't have an item they would offer to order it for me and then it will be shipped to my home. There was no offer and I didn't think of it until I left the store thinking I'm never coming back here. I went online myself I ordered the products I needed from Estee Lauder, I thought, I would rather order online than have this unpleasant experience. This Macy's is not attractive it doesn't have a variety to choose from, and I prefer to shop at any other Macy's. I'll be going to Kop or Christiana DE next time I want to go to Macy's. read more

I just purchased an air fryer from Macys in Springfield Pa. Upon setting it up, i plugged it in, looked down inside, and saw food stains on the tray. Enlight of Omicron, Covid, and germs in general, Macys have used products on their store floor, selling to customers. Not only am I upset about the germs, I have to travel back to Macys to return this used air fryer. Do Macys need to hire a quality control, quality assurance department to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen again. Tomorrow, I have to arrange my schedule to return this dirty air fryer. I did call customer service to report this, and I spoke with a person identifying himself as the store manager Jeff, whom I am requesting to speak with 2/3/2022 after 12pm. How inconvenient for me. I like this Macy's. I may not like their liaison with Donald Trump but that's a totally different story. No reason to take it on them. Especially when I got excellent service. Got here after my insurance company paid for all the replacement items damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy. And it was a major purchase that included bedding and bath linens for a three bedroom ski condo. The attendant was patient and didn't leave my side until I was fully satisfied. That included a full lineup of both Winter and Summer bedding, towels, and accessories for my ski condo. Then the pickup. The nice attendant realized my purchase was huge, and she asked me to remain in place and called for assistance, it took two full carts to get everything out of the cash register. Macys is great for work clothes especially when you can get a coupon and a sale. The bad part is sometimes certain items are excluded which happened today. Either way the deal was so good that it didn't matter. Staff is friendly and helpful. The MAC counter is great and I visit it often. I also buy my perfumes here. Plenty of mall parking. read more

i am not a big Macy's shopper - but even for a Macy's this one is lame. I used to shop at the Wanamaker/Macy's (in Center City) and if there were sales you could get some decent clothing, shoes and kids clothing. Here in Springfield? Not so much. It's hit or miss and I usually miss. The Calvin Klein dress I wanted was full retail at $134.99 - and I got a very similar one at Century 21 (in Philly) for $69.99 - so, I am not too keen on Macy's these days. For kids clothes? I went to Macy's yesterday to purchase some cologne. The lady at the fragrance counter noticed me but ignored me for 15 minutes. Then she passed over me and chose to wait on white customers who had just arrived at the counter long after me. Blatant disregard. It's very obvious that MACYS DOES NOT WELCOME BLACK CUSTOMERS with open arms. . But I'm not surprised. I'm sure she is getting marching orders from her bosses. I normally don't shop in Macy's. This is my 2nd time at this particular Macy's. The first time I went, I find a shirt I really liked, and I was able to apply a coupon to it. The lady who helped me was even willing to offer me a coupon, but I had the same one anyway! :) The 2nd time I went there, I went to consider cologne and after shave. It was very difficult to get good help- two employees were very impatient with me even though I was asking all the right questions. They hurried me, answered things out of order, and expected me to just buy a bunch of stuff and run out. I bought something I wanted, and may've bought more if they didn't rush me with the cologne. Sure, I don't have common sense about toilette and perfum genres, but I wasn't being mean to them. I really wanted to know the prices differences and the labeling differences. I believe they also gave me incorrect amounts for one of the bottles, and then they also told me these numbers 1.7 and 3.5? I asked them if the numbers had any meaning. One of them said yes, but instead of answering that question, she kept referring to the 50 mL and 100 mL. Her English was not top notch (good enough though.) Considering that there were 2 employees helping each other out at least, they could have had more patience with me and been much more friendly. They gave me the feeling that I was a little kid with hardly any money and that I should not be shopping here, and how dare I be so naive in a posh shopping center. One of the few department stores left around that I shop in. The air conditioning in this store is utterly AWFUL. It's 80+ degrees in this store year round & I shop here frequently. I try my best to get in & out because I can't stand the heat. Also, it seems to be very understaffed. Can never find anyone when I want to checkout. Went to Macy's in Springfield, PA yesterday to find something for my 93 yr old mom to wear to my daughter's wedding. Happened upon their "Personal Stylist" - Tara Alsaadi. What an AWESOME experience we had with her! It cost us NOTHING to have her assistance - she is paid by Macy's. But her expertise was invaluable! I was having such a hard time finding something that looked good and the very first outfit she brought out for us was gorgeous and looked and fit great on Mom! She gave Mom 4 outfits that worked and Mom selected one. This was the SHORTEST shopping trip I have EVER had with my mother AND everything was on sale, plus Tara gets her own discount to give her patrons. Amazing! I stopped at this Macy's for something specific I needed for a wedding. I was my first time there so I didn't know my way around. I am not new to racism, but in fact, I experienced it here and that is reason I will not return. I had an African American woman look right at me, up and down and she saw I needed help, but proceeded to ask the an African American customer next to me if she needed help. I am a naturally nice person so I proceeded to go about my business and was helped by another associate. The same woman who ignored me proceeded to check me out without thanking me or even handing me my merchandise. It looks like some of your employees need to be let go. read more

They don't have a large selection compared to other items and I've also found that the employees aren't always helpful. I went to get shoes this weekend during their shoe sale, and all of the shoes were all over the place, and the shoes weren't with their proper size category which made it hard to shop. I shop at Macy's Springfield, Pa. almost once a week, maybe more. It's my go-to store. I've been a Macy's customer and card holder for years. That being said, I have to agree with andrea b.'s assessment of some African American employees at this store. I've had one of the women actually sneer at me, as if I were some lower form of life; and like andrea b. look me up and down in a condescending manner. Another women of African descent who works the return counter I periodically encounter is incredibly gruff, loud, and overbearing. If some people have an obvious animus toward Caucasians, it behooves Macy's not to employ them. read more

It's a Macy's just like all the other Macy's. This one is pretty clean and easy to navigate. The employees are usually helpful although I can NEVER EVER use my star rewards coupons because they are never for the items I buy. I love that they have nearly every department I need and it's spread out, everything is not all jammed in together. There also aren't a bunch of people spraying you with fragrances as I find in other Macy's. Parking is good and prices are cool even without a coupon. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewer that no one helps you at this location. If things were easy to find or if they even had a selection to speak of, that wouldn't be so much of an issue. But it's impossible to find ANYthing here-- not sure if it's because the place is disorganized or if they don't really have anything to find. When I walked in the weekend after Labor Day there were a total of 3 dresses worthy of even looking at, and none in the color I wanted. I was looking for a bunch of other stuff including intimates and clothing, and I couldn't find anything worth buying. I was aimlessly wandering around for about 20-30 minutes, and not one staff member offered to help. The one person I did ask for help did not seem to want to be bothered. Terrible store! read more

This review specifically relates to men's clothing I went in last night with a young friend to buy clothes for his high school graduation. He has very little experience picking out dress clothes, so had no idea what his neck size, arm length, etc, was. Fortunately, we came across a wonderful salesclerk named Joanne who went around with us (for probably an hour and a half) picking out dress shirt, dress trousers, belt, necktie, socks and dress shoes. The about-to-graduate got exactly what he wanted, and I didn't loose my mind trying to ferret out the right items in the right sizes. This location is a dump and a half and good luck finding anyone to help you outside of the jewelry, perfume, or makeup counters. If you're looking for clothes in the juniors/women's departments, you're better off looking for what you want on the floor since that's where most of the clothes are. The only reason I spend any time looking through the heaps of clothing is that Macy's does have good sales going on all the time. (Not like you'll be able to figure out which sale signs go with which items - thank goodness they have price checkers here and there.) read more

I was looking at the sodastream and all the syrups where out of date told a sales associate and they did nothing.the displays that are supposed to be white have marks all over them. Ugh, this place is awful. The sales people are rude, lazy, or in hiding if you need some assistance (occasionally you will run across someone who is willing to help you) and the store is always a chaotic mess with clothes strewn all over the floor in each of the clothing departments (dressing rooms are the same way). Despite it being a pretty large store with 2 floors and stuffed tight with merchandise, I think they offer little selection and rarely I find anything I am looking for or something I like (90% of the time if I actually do find something I like, it's way expensive). I have stopped shopping here but someone had given me a gift card here and wanted to see if I could find something. I spent over an hour, and left with just 2 sweaters. I just couldn't be bothered to look through piles of stuff any longer and just wanted to get out of there. I avoid this place like the plague! Oh and do not ever get their store/visa card. They will change your due date and not tell you then slap you with late fees and cancel your card because of your late payment and ding your credit. Sept. 6th was my sons wedding, couple of hours before a make up artist had cancelled an appointment. I didnt know what to do. Despite, she had a customer, she excused herself for a brief moment and ran around the floor to look for 2 make up artists that were available. Every time I go to Mary's I enjoy my experience! The customer service is excellent and when I forgot my coupon it never fails the cashier always has one.
