Such an exceedingly wonderful proper department store. And such an exceedingly wonderful Christmas tradition .... The holiday light show! Absolutely charming. It's wonderful to shop in this fine store and appreciate its history in Philadelphia among other cities. The eagle statue is a special meeting place . A beautiful sculpture & it's right near the shoe department ! So much to enjoy. Very precious sight to see.

Good for mens essentials (socks, belts, etc.) Safe parking underneath with elevator that opens directly into the store.

    Worlds largest functioning organ

Interestingly beautiful. Hopefully this place could be maintained well by macy's and other tenants. Few crew for service. Good value, lots of sales. Alot of selections although some needed replenishment as stocks locks low

[1048] 12/2019 This Macy's location is one of my favorites. It's located in Center a City Philadelphia. I love coming here to find cool items on the many floors. The building has many "rooms" which helps keeps things separate and easy for me to find things. The staff is friendly. They have a light show around the winter holidays I'll definitely be back

Had to visit this classic Macys in Philly, in an old school building that looks like a church! They decorated with some holiday decor which brighten the place. Although I felt the men section was lackluster.

Every day at 5:30 come here to listen to the worlds oldest pipe organ. Its pretty amazing!!

This is the only Macy's that I know of that has such beautiful architecture inside.

Let me preface this by stating that this review is just for the Wanamaker organ. Macy's is housed in the Wanamaker building, which is a designated historical building. The Wanamaker organ is the largest fully functioning pipe organ in the world. It plays daily at noon from Monday through Saturday. The music playing from this organ was very soothing and holiday like. I saw one lady closed her eyes while listening to the music play. The pipe organ played for almost an hour. It was great to have a free concert right inside of Macy's. If you want to see it from the first level, just come to the women's shoe section. There's also a grand eagle statue on the first floor as well. You can also see the organ pretty well on the second and third floors. Plus, you can see the person playing the Wanamaker organ from the upper levels. If you want to do some shopping at Macy's and enjoy a lovely concert, come here at noon to get your fix.

Truth be told, I'm not a fan of Macy's at all, and rarely ever shop at any Macy's, except occasionally for cosmetics. However, this one location is the exception. I really liked this store solely because of the super cool architecture in this store. Just step inside, and you'll know what I mean. This is no typical California mall-like store. This was the original Wanamakers Department Store, one of the first department stores in the U.S. It's now an historical landmark, and when you're inside the Grand Court, look up really really high, and you'll see the world's largest functioning pipe organ! I believe they still use it from time to time. See, I told you this is no ordinary Macy's!! I've never been to a department store in the U.S. quite like this. Hubby took me here and said women, including his aunt, used to make special trips into Philadelphia years and years ago from New Jersey just to shop at Wanamakers. Apparently, it was a super big deal back then. Well, Wanamakers is gone, but the beautiful building lives on. It's a must see!

I never went down there but, from the windows everything looked beautiful. So many dresses. There is a pretty good clearance section upstairs. The store does have a staircase and elevators. There is a section upstairs for employees... lets call is the employee lounge/workroom. Anthro products are stunning. I love their dresses and cardigans. I love that they have a plus size selection. Their aesthetic really delivers. They have items for the home, accessories, jewelry, clothing, shoes, candles, housewares and much more. I had encountered a few staff members and they were great, even in passing when we were in the elevator. Now Anthro can be pricey, but I can see why. There are times I cringe at a price for a dress of a candle. But, I just tell myself it is not meant to be.

This is the flagship store in Philly and the outside is beautiful. I have wanted to go for a while but given a triple fractured ankle and a non handicapped entrance I have used a visit as a rehab goal. I finally was able to make it up the stairs and it is a truly a beautiful store with several floors of items. Loved looking at all the pretty things and managed to leave with a couple of items. If you are an architectural buff I would stop in just to look at the building and rooms. Though for me it was some retail therapy and appreciating the old architecture of days gone by.

You are not allowed to touch clothes and if you do not like the things she has pulled for you, she seems upset. She also will dump her personal drama on you. While some of the clothing is unique, there are no tags on anything including prices. Sort of shady, and to be honest, I wonder if some of the stuff is used. She also is rarely there when the hours of the store say she will be. I once found the assistant asleep in the corner on the floor. Kiki was totally unaware she was there. If you are feeling like you have thick skin and want to fight the person you are buying from, it's worth going in there a few times. If you want to feel good about spending hundreds/thousands, you'll go elsewhere.

It's worth going in for that itself. You can tell she puts a lot of thought into every piece that goes in the store, whether its wallpaper for the walls, a curtain for the dressing rooms, or a piece of clothing or jewelry that she is selling. She also really takes the time to help you find the things that work for you, your body, and your style. Though I do feel it necessary to note that this is definitely not a cheap store, it is definitely a beautiful boutique that you should absolutely get to know and love.

I had not passed by since before the pandemic so it's definitely been a while for me, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the array of upscale offerings here in Center City. It was mostly accessories that would appeal to me, since unlike Saks Fifth Avenue, they do not have a plus size section aka anything north of a size 10 in clothing. But their handbags and their shoes were as beautiful as they come. If you're looking for anything from Victoria Beckham, I think this might be the one place in Philadelphia to find her dresses.
