I've had relatively good experiences at this Macy's in the past, on par with most major department stores, but my visit last night left something to be desired. I was in the market for a suit. Having bought a Tommy Hilfiger suit (say what you will about the man, but he cuts fabric that fits me pretty much perfectly) at this location a couple of years ago, we decided to go back and try to find at least one more. The selection is very good in the men's department. There are a large number of designers and a wide range of sizes. I particularly appreciate that they carry slim cut suits as I hate the look of swimming in professional clothing that was made for someone shaped very differently than me. My wife and I had already told at least two salespeople that we didn't need help, but this third gentleman wouldn't let up, offering to take my measurements to insure a proper fit. I'm a 40R, had tried on 5 jackets that size which fit pretty well, but sure; measure me. The gentleman asked my height, took my chest measurement and informed me that all other measurements could be estimated from those. I'm not sure where this law of golden proportionality originated, but I've had suits tailored and those required at least 4 measurements (Chest, shoulder, length and sleeve). Even if I hadn't had this knowledge, it still only requires about 3 seconds of critical thinking to dissuade one of the idea that everyone has the same proportions. Look around. To exemplify his understanding of tailoring, the gentleman walked me over to a mirror, pulled a 42L off the rack and informed me that this is my proper size. With the sleeves going past my wrists to hide all of my shirt and encroaching on my thumbs, the sides flaring away and the back hanging below my tookis, we both informed him that this was not, in fact, a good-looking jacket for my body. My wife was done arguing by this time and walked away. I kept waiting for the gentleman to talk about when the jacket would be tailored to fit, but that never came. Instead, he informed me that the jacket should hang right where the seat meets the legs. Being familiar with where my butt stops being a butt and starts being a leg, I asked, "Right here?", pointing a little less than an inch above the hem. "That's where the jacket stops," I was informed, contrary to what two of my five senses were telling me. "No, it isn't," I said as I pulled my hand away and let the jacket fall. I was then informed that I clearly didn't need his assistance and that I was to have a good day. We took note of the suits I liked and saved them on Macy's online store to order later. We needed a break, so we went upstairs to look at furniture. There's a nice selection of rugs and furniture on the third floor for most rooms of the house. Most of the selection isn't super exciting, but it does appear to be good quality pieces to let your accents do their work. We were looking at couches when a woman approached offering her assistance. "We're just looking," my wife said as she flipped through fabric swatches. "Only these three fabrics are on sale for this couch. The others are a lot more money," the woman said, pointing to the swatches my wife was examining. Both our brows furrowed. "Why would she say that?" I asked, confused after the woman left. "We don't dress like people in St. Matthews." I was informed. After a beat it dawned on me. "Oooooh. They think we're poor!" That explained so much! To be clear, we weren't dressed to the 9's, but I don't think I am going too far in saying that each of us were dressed "nice casual." So, I say this from a place of love and concern: this is a mall in Louisville, Kentucky. Get over yourselves. Once we noted what rugs were of consideration, we went back downstairs to look at shirts and ties for my suits that we'd be buying online (at a lower price than in-store, btw). It took a while to make the matches, but we ended up being assisted by a very helpful young man who was courteous and even told us that the discount for opening an account was currently being doubled. So, rather than buying online, we were the first people to open an account with him, purchased three suits, two shirts and a couple of ties. Nick brought my review up a whole star. read more

Macy's at Oxmoor Mall the day after Christmas is packed, chaotic and understaffed. Shoppers have attacked the clothing displays and it reminded me of the Will and Grace episode of the Barneys of NY sale. I'll have to give Macy's another try after the holiday season. Wife and I went to Macy's in January and almost purchased enough furniture for entire house. I never purchase a protection plan but due to our investment we did this time. We filed clam on Cannon tables that easily scratch and chip. I went to Macy's to see if the have a repair kit and they stated no. They directed me to there "Worry No More" App to file claim. Purchased one year ago and have five year unconditional warranty. Gentleman came out and inspected furniture and said he would issue replacement of two pieces. Soon following I received notice on the app that my claim was denied. ??????? Salesperson is working on it but I have great concern in regards to Macy's business practices. I had a great experience at the finish line inside of Macy's. The employees were very helpful, and made sure the shoes I was looking for were the correct fit and style. He also apologized for the wait (which was less than 5 mins) I can't base this review on Macy's as a whole, but the part I was shopping at was lovely . read more

Horrible "mystylist" experience with Terri Cardwell, who cancelled my appointment the day before by sending me an email- "I'm so sorry but I will have to reschedule. My calendar is challenging this time of year and I double booked for a wedding party tomorrow morning. Is there a next time soon we could meet?" The appt was made 2 weeks prior and she never responded to any of the 4 emails I sent to her. I did not appreciate the short notice and the fact she did not respond to any of my emails. If I hadn't contacted her to confirm I guess I would be out of luck when I went to the appt the next morning. This is very poor customer service for sure. I'm sure she just conveniently bumped my appointment because she felt the wedding party would generate bigger sales. read more

Macys posted a part time Admin(seasonal) position on Wednesday morning. I applied that night and called the HR dept the next morning. They gave my information to a Manager named Michael to call me to follow up. Friday I didn't hear back so Saturday I called and a young lady pulled my application and scheduled me for a interview Today (Monday Morning) at 11 am. So when I arrived to my interview, I told the Indian woman in the Exec office what I was there for and she said 'Oh that job is filled'. Hmmmm.. I told her I just spoke with someone on Saturday morning and she sat there and looked at me like I made up the interview. Then asked if I wanted to interview for something else and I was uhmmm no. I didn't apply for anything else. Then she just continued to sit there and stare at me and then said it must have been a miscommunication... First the fact that she sat there and just stared at me like I was ghost was just RUDE. Then just unapologetically blowing me off like I was disturbing her day. I was PISSED OFF!! I drove over a hour just to interview for a job that was filled. You may have wanted to update the posting. And having someone come all the way out there is just unacceptable and unprofessional. I used to work here a few years ago and the office staff was different. I will never apply to a job here ever again. Just a waste of my time!! I see why they can't get anyone help there. I was driving around town shopping all day, looking for a dressy and professional looking coat. I had a picture in my head of what I wanted. Everywhere I went, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. Then Bingo, Macy's had what I was looking for. I was expecting to pay a crazy amount, but to my surprise the style I was looking for was on sale. It was marked 50% off. Then when they rung it up, it actually was cheaper at 70% off instead. Great, at this prize, now I can buy two different styles. Macy's is a pricey store, but they have awesome sales. Sometimes they mark stuff on sale you think is a great deal, and when they ring it up it's even more marked down than expected. Then of course I also got tempted with their perfumes. Don't go around smelling all their perfume testers people! Because as soon as you get a smell of one you really like, you have to have it. Then you have that lady employee that all the sudden produces a perfume gift kit at a great bargain, if she thinks you are about to walk away. There was only one con about Macy's today. They have a coat area, but I also noticed they had other coats mixed throughout different departments with other type of clothing. That was kind of annoying. If I'm coming to buy a only coat, I want to go straight to that area. I don't want to also look around every inch of the store for just a coat. I'm thinking they do that on purpose thinking that will force you to look at other things too and maybe get tempted to purchase more. I can understand them doing that as a business, but still a little annoying as a customer. read more

I usually go into the store to make a payment,but due to the pandemic it was closed.I mailed a payment that must have got there late,because it is not listed on my statement.I asked not to add the late fee,you did any way plus why do you charge 39.00 late fee even when your bill may be less than 39.00.This is FUCKED UP!I am now retired and can not afford to pay anything extra!!!Plus you do not even have a billing office in the store,this delays transactions.Which is to the stores advantage.FUCK YOU MACY'S!!!You are FUCKING over Loyal customers!!! read more

This review is ONLY about the shoe department. Overall in that section, all the other sales people were wonderful and very helpful...except for one. I can't remember her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag, but she worked for finish line. She consistently would bring the WRONG shoe in the wrong size EVERY. TIME. Not only that, but she looked as if she didn't give a flying f*ck about her job or any customers. She never apologized once for messing up, and looked at all the customers as if doing her job was the most inconvenient thing in the world. Other sales people were constantly apologizing for her and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had at Macy's. read more

Went here to do a second of 2 online returns. I was able to find a customer service desk fast but there was no one at it. After wandering around looking for someone to help me, a worked had returned to the first desk (I had seen her walking around but she had nothing that showed she was an employee instead of a customer). She was able to process my return fast and was friendly. read more

Deceptive advertising. Check the prices on your receipts. More than once, I have had items ring up for more than the advertised sale price.

Bad customer service, also the manager spit in a trash can right in front of us before checking us out.

I bought 2 gifts here tonight and asked for gift boxes. I was told they didn't carry them anymore until Christmas because they were just too much trouble. I was sent to four different departments to ask if they might have them. The sales people were nice and I realize it isn't their fault. Macy's is not inexpensive and I would expect to be able to get a box with my purchase. I was told by one lady that if I went down to Von Maur, they could probably give me one. The employee in Coach handbags is phenomenal. She is more than willing to help, and she is interested in making sure you find what you need. If her store does not have inventory of an item, she will find it at another store. Sometimes employees won't take the time to do this - but she was wonderful! read more

We have not gone to Macy's in quite some time because we really hate fighting mall traffic and dealing with kids running wild. Yesterday, however, my wife decided that she wanted some underclothing that were a bit nicer than what she has been wearing lately so I let her talk me into going to Oxmoor, and specifically to Macy's. When we got to that section of the store, we were being helped by a nice older lady named Suzy, and things were going along nicely. Then this young kid named Dora came up and began insulting the lady that was assisting my wife, making very rude comments about her ability to provide assistance as well as her overall intelligence, right in front of us! I could tell that it was taking all of the other lady's composure to keep from punching the rude kid right in the mouth, and I have to admit that it required a bit of restraint on my own part, as well. We ended up leaving without buying anything at all and stopped at Target on our way home, instead, to get those items that she wanted. I have to wonder if Macy's training program includes a section on how to alienate the customers that you claim to be there to help, as this does not appear to be anything close to an isolated incident based on other reviews that I am seeing as I sat down to write this. It had been quite a while since we had been to a Macy's before, and this was most likely the last time that we will ever go there, again. read more

If you order online from Macy's do NOT elect to use Paypal as method of payment. At least, not if its something you may need to return. No where on their website does it state that you won't be refunded thru Paypal. They will automatically mail you an in-store gift card. I attempted to return a pair of boots that I had ordered online to the store and the service agent told me she couldn't do a refund to Paypal. So, I decided to just mail them back... certainly that would ensure my proper credit. Nope. I returned the boots on November 18th, and I'm still waiting for my refund. I've contacted them twice to remind them that my return was made within the valid return date on my receipt.. and it even has a checkbox on the shipping form if you'd like your refund to be the same manner of payment!! Macy's told me it would be 10-15 days for my refund to show up. What?!? That is absolutely unacceptable. Paypal is electronic!! What Macy's is doing is jerking me around and is trying to push me into using the store credit. Horrible. HORRIBLE customer service. read more

April, 2016. My daughter and I received the worst customer service imaginable at Macy's shoe department. We went in about an hour before closing, doing some last minute shopping for a pair of prom shoes. After we choose several pair to try on, no one ever came around to assist us. So we stood up by the cashier counter with shoes in hand, and still no assistance as about 3 employees stood and chatted with each other, while another cashed out customers. I attempted to interrupt one associate, by saying "excuse me" and walking up to her. She ignored me, and walked the other direction and disappeared. The young man finally asked if he could help us, he was sarcastic and not friendly, and went on to tell us they did not have our size in either of the 3 selections we had. Later in the mall, 2 of those same associates passed me as I sat on one of the benches resting and said, "There's that lady". I don't shop at Macy's much, and will not be back, not even online. read more
