Macy's generally comes through for me. From its variety of styles, sizes and department types, it's where I find the bulk of my most worn, quality clothes. Plus MAC make-up and shoes! I love searching their Last Act clearance for cocktail and formal dresses. You can find great deals! I shop before I need the occasion outfit. This last round I walked away with a $50 formal dress and I'm excited to wear it to an upcoming gala. I do recommend having a Macy's credit card. I don't use it often but it's how I get access to coupons, and there's always coupons. Sometimes the clerks have better deals than me and they will offer me the higher discount. This location is an anchor store for Oxmoor Mall. There's plenty of parking near its entrances. I also appreciate their hours may extend a bit longer than other mall stores, especially during the holiday. read more

The Oxmoor store was remodeled a while back & has a nice little coffee shop in front on the Shelbyville Road door entrance. I love Macy's even though I feel like the store doesn't have as many options as use to pre Covid. But most stores don't. I was surprised to see that they are selling Burbon now Macy's (a little on the expensive side) prices. There was even a cute little sitting area. If Burbon isn't your thing, then there is a Starbucks. I went to look at the clothing . The last act/clearance rack is my fave. I couldn't shop because stuff was everywhere. I just spent $6000 for a bed, leather couch and recliner. It was supposed to be delivered on 8 March 24 at 3 pm. No one called and no one showed up. We had the door open for the delivery. I called customer service and they said. 1. The driver came by and no one was home? We were home with the door open. 2. Then they said, it was already delivered at 3:15 pm? 3. Next excuse was. It will be delivered at 8 pm? No show or call? I called customer service to get the drivers name and number... customer service hung up on me??? So, I cancelled my order. Never doing business with Macy's. I took off a full day of work and they couldn't give me a courtesy call. Very sad. I also heard that they are going out of business.... so... We waited two weeks for this order... which we really needed for guest. Really bad business... then they are going to lie to you... which makes it worst. read more

We made the huge mistake by buying a couch from them. It took over 7 months to get it. Then the couch broke down about 8 months after getting it. They came by to look at it and said it needed a new part. They ordered the new part to have it delivered here. The first time they forgot to order it. The second time when we followed up, they finally ordered it without providing a tracking number since it's being shipped to our house. They said it would take up to two months to get the part. Once we get the part we have to call them back to schedule an appointment for them to fix it. I will never ever again buy furniture from macys. I much rather pay an extra 500 dollars for the same thing from a better company with better customer service. read more

I am SO THANKFUL for the Macy's at Oxmoor Mall in Louisville KY! I was able to purchase much sought after Size 5 Ladies Boots at a reasonable price. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find my shoe size - 5! While service is just acceptable, selection at Women's Clarins in Cosmetics is despicable. .5 oz Clarins Total Eye Lift for $100 is false advertising and profit gouging to their optimal bottom line. When you open the container to scrap more out, your greeted with a small Aluminum bag. The .5 oz. Doesn't reflect the value nor the quantity within the Red vestibule. Loves that Macy's does the Make A Wish Foundation Santa letters! The ladies and guys here have been nothing but amazing. The ladies at the men's department and cologne are always so helpful. It smells amazing over there. The ladies in the executive office are always so sweet and helpful. The store is always clean and very bright. I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand I've gotten some amazing deals here on some great clothes, but then again, the effort that goes into finding and ending up with those great clothing deals is always such a hassle. First of all, I don't know that I've actually ever just decided to go to Macy's itself alone, but instead typically end up here when trying to get to other stores in the mall. Macy's is just the closest store I can enter to get to the other stores (usually Sephora, a few others) I want to visit during these pandemic times (The side doors at the mall are closed and, at least as far as I can tell, the only entrance points of the mall now are at the big department stores like Macy's). So, it's not really somewhere I really think about when thinking about shopping and what I need to get, but since I always enter the mall that way, I end up shopping around. Part of the reason for this is I am drawn to the 75% off sales (it just seems to be lately, I guess because department stores are struggling, but they have been having tons of racks of 50 and 75% off items). The way I found out about these racks though, is mostly because the organization of this store makes no sense and I always get lost or end up sidetracked, trying to get to the exit of the store that leads to the rest of the mall. So, there are usually racks of heavily price-reduced clothing, but they don't seem to be in any particular spot. You just kind of wander around and find them. I genuinely cannot figure out their set-up regarding the women's clothing section/s. They just seem thrown together. One day I thought it might be by brand (which is kind of weird, I guess you are supposed to memorize where each brand in the store houses its wares?), but then again, it seems like things get moved around a lot. There also are so few workers around and the majority of the ones who are there are unhelpful, ignore you (even when you're next in line ready to check out, they'll start talking to somebody else or just be like in a weird daze moving crap around the register without looking up). The workers typically are just unbelievably unaffected by anything (except when I saw an argument up front between two workers, I've never really seen workers go off on each other in a store until here). I did end up there today and a decent fellow checked my stuff out. It was hard to hear him behind two masks, but, hey, that's the world we're living in now I guess. I was just glad to (for the first time of the several times I've stopped by here) had a pleasant and kind customer service experience with the cashier this time. Though while he was trying to work, another worker kept stopping him to ask him inane questions and apparently they messed up everybody's schedules and we're working part-time employees full-time hours? I don't know, she was going on about something like that and going off on him not taking a long enough lunch break. I felt kind of bad for the guy if this person above him is just willing to interrupt everything and go on about things that don't need to be discussed in front of customers. In the end I got some great deals. I just found some sales racks randomly across various parts of the store (it's weird, why have like one rack here, another sales rack in another section, another on the other side of the store? The layout seriously makes no logical sense). Anyway, the place can be a bit of a hassle, but I can't be too mad over items normally being above my budget being on sale for $5 and $15 (seriously got an adorable dress I'm going to wear the hell out of for $14 bucks that's cute beyond words), but it would be difficult to give this particular Macy's more than 3 stars for the other issues. So, good deals when you happen to get lost and find them, but the rest of the experience, meh, usually not the best. read more

I've never really been a fan of Macy's. The clothing options aren't that great, the store tends to stay a bit messy, and it's just not my vibe. But there are still some good qualities to this store. I only come here if I have some spare time to kill at the Oxmoor Center or I am looking for a really good bargain. I pretty much only shop in the junior's section, which is a majority of cheap-looking clothes for a price more than it's worth. If you really look, though, you can find some great deals. They have a pretty big clearance area, but it's pretty much just clothes all over the place so you have to put some effort into it. I think downstairs has a lot more to offer, they have a nice shoe and contemporary section, plus it is the home to the only MAC (that I can think of) in Louisville. read more

Macy's has some really good sales and their clothing is well-made. But, if you have a disability and need your spouse to help you change formal gowns and such....they frown on him helping you. While I understand that some women may be uncomfortable with the idea of a guy being in the dressing room (in your own room with doors and walls and no one can see inside or vice versa)....Macy's would not allow that or accommodate the request. Therefore, if you have a disability....it seems to me that Macy's staff were not willing to help. BUT, I do want to say, the Macy's in Lexington KY were willing to help; which is why I gave Macy's a 3 star review. read more

I know the holiday season is a tough time of year and challenging for retail workers. I do not envy what their day must be like. That said, I cannot believe how rude the sales people were to EACH OTHER. I may have gone to the store on a bad night, but I was blown away by the verbal interactions between staff members. It was so disrespectful; people yelling at each other, this in turn was reflected in how they spoke with customers. I bought three suit sets for work and felt extremely uncomfortable in line while staff argued with each other. That lack of help they offered each other also extended to customers. I am 22 and have been going to Macy's for event wear on and off in my life. Usually my experiences are whatever. Department store mirrors and lighting in the dressing room is not ideal but we can work with that. However, I have never been to a shittier Macy's than the one at Oxmoor today. Multiple staff gave me blank stares or didn't even look at me when I asked them a question. They legitimately looked like zombies and were extremely unhelpful. There was only one dressing room open in the dress department upstairs and there was a perpetual long line. Not to mention their racks are messy, unorganized, and several items were marked with clearance prices in one area yet marked with full price tags in another. I'm not sure if this utter depletion of spirit, customer service, and organization is due to the pandemic but honestly Macy's at Oxmoor please hire new people. Your employees suck. read more

Had an exasperating experience at Macy's yesterday. I saw not one staff person on the 2nd floor while I found my way through the woman's section. The fitting room was "temporarily " closed as was the case in the next department. Finally found one near formal dresses and it was a terrible mess. Clothes thrown everywhere as was the case in Some areas of where I shopped. The floor of the dressing g room was filthy with a dried liquid brown and clumps of brown stuck to the floor. I quickly tried on the clothes dodging the clumps. There was only 1 place for most of the floor to check out but I was done. I just left. To make matters worse I must've dropped a bracelet in the store but for the life of me cannot get through by phone. This place is down spiraling. It was short staffed before the pandemic but very unpleasant place to shop now in my experience. read more

I ordered furniture, and it was to be delivered today between 10:30 and 12:30. I called around 1 and was told they would be here by 1:19. Well it's now 1:30 and still no delivery. You spend several thousand dollars on furniture, they charge $200 for delivery, and nobody shows or bothers to call. My lesson is learned. read more

The store can be a bit disorganized but I think that is mostly due to the fact that they have so many huge sales. When there is a big shoes sale- look out!! Women go crazy in there. Not Macy's fault though. The sales people in the shoe department specifically have always been helpful. There is one elderly lady that works on the 2nd floor in the Juniors clothing department that I absolutely love. She is so sweet and always gives me coupons to save extra money. I read through some of the other reviews, and I hate that so many others have had such bad experiences at this Macy's location. Personally, I have experienced nothing short of great service here. The store itself is usually a bit messy and unorganized, especially the fitting areas, and that is why I am giving a 4 star review rather than a 5; however, the service I've received has always been great. I have had experiences at this Macy's location with shopping assistance, fitting room assistance, online order pick-up, and returns. My most recent transaction was for the return of a pair of jeans. Macy's has an awesome return policy, accepting items for up to 180 after the purchase date. The jeans in question had the tags removed and I did not have a receipt, but the sales associate was extremely patient and helped me every step of the way to still be able to return the item. I feel that this location needs more staff in the store at any given time. I think their lack of staff attributes to many of the issues mentioned in other reviews, as well as the issues I mention above. If they had more people working they would be more equipped to properly staff each store location (shoes, purses, clothing, customer service, etc.), as well as keep the store and dressing rooms more orderly. But, overall I have had only positive experiences at this store and I will definitely be shopping here in the future. read more

Also only 1 fitting room open, which doesn't make sense in this Covid time; lines were a mile long and no social distancing was happening. I've had relatively good experiences at this Macy's in the past, on par with most major department stores, but my visit last night left something to be desired. I was in the market for a suit. Having bought a Tommy Hilfiger suit (say what you will about the man, but he cuts fabric that fits me pretty much perfectly) at this location a couple of years ago, we decided to go back and try to find at least one more. The selection is very good in the men's department. There are a large number of designers and a wide range of sizes. I particularly appreciate that they carry slim cut suits as I hate the look of swimming in professional clothing that was made for someone shaped very differently than me. My wife and I had already told at least two salespeople that we didn't need help, but this third gentleman wouldn't let up, offering to take my measurements to insure a proper fit. I'm a 40R, had tried on 5 jackets that size which fit pretty well, but sure; measure me. The gentleman asked my height, took my chest measurement and informed me that all other measurements could be estimated from those. I'm not sure where this law of golden proportionality originated, but I've had suits tailored and those required at least 4 measurements (Chest, shoulder, length and sleeve). Even if I hadn't had this knowledge, it still only requires about 3 seconds of critical thinking to dissuade one of the idea that everyone has the same proportions. Look around. To exemplify his understanding of tailoring, the gentleman walked me over to a mirror, pulled a 42L off the rack and informed me that this is my proper size. With the sleeves going past my wrists to hide all of my shirt and encroaching on my thumbs, the sides flaring away and the back hanging below my tookis, we both informed him that this was not, in fact, a good-looking jacket for my body. My wife was done arguing by this time and walked away. I kept waiting for the gentleman to talk about when the jacket would be tailored to fit, but that never came. Instead, he informed me that the jacket should hang right where the seat meets the legs. Being familiar with where my butt stops being a butt and starts being a leg, I asked, "Right here?", pointing a little less than an inch above the hem. "That's where the jacket stops," I was informed, contrary to what two of my five senses were telling me. "No, it isn't," I said as I pulled my hand away and let the jacket fall. I was then informed that I clearly didn't need his assistance and that I was to have a good day. We took note of the suits I liked and saved them on Macy's online store to order later. We needed a break, so we went upstairs to look at furniture. There's a nice selection of rugs and furniture on the third floor for most rooms of the house. Most of the selection isn't super exciting, but it does appear to be good quality pieces to let your accents do their work. We were looking at couches when a woman approached offering her assistance. "We're just looking," my wife said as she flipped through fabric swatches. "Only these three fabrics are on sale for this couch. The others are a lot more money," the woman said, pointing to the swatches my wife was examining. Both our brows furrowed. "Why would she say that?" I asked, confused after the woman left. "We don't dress like people in St. Matthews." I was informed. After a beat it dawned on me. "Oooooh. They think we're poor!" That explained so much! To be clear, we weren't dressed to the 9's, but I don't think I am going too far in saying that each of us were dressed "nice casual." So, I say this from a place of love and concern: this is a mall in Louisville, Kentucky. Get over yourselves. Once we noted what rugs were of consideration, we went back downstairs to look at shirts and ties for my suits that we'd be buying online (at a lower price than in-store, btw). It took a while to make the matches, but we ended up being assisted by a very helpful young man who was courteous and even told us that the discount for opening an account was currently being doubled. So, rather than buying online, we were the first people to open an account with him, purchased three suits, two shirts and a couple of ties. Nick brought my review up a whole star. read more
