This Macy's is a stand alone location. Has everything on a smaller scale than the larger Macy's. Ample parking. The sales help is very friendly and helpful, Especially a young lady named Debbie. Came to this Macy's with no expectations as I never even knew it existed until last week. I didn't feel like driving to Smithhaven so came here instead. The selection is FABULOUS! They had a little bit of everything and everything was of good quality. I was able to easily burn my gift cards and get a lot of bang for my buck. I will totally be returning for more. Only reason it isn't a 5 star store is due to the fact that they left one of those security tags on a sweater I bought. Now I have to make another trip just to have it removed which I really don't have the time for. Quite irritating. read more

The staff is really friendly and helpful. It is not that large of a store, but they have enough. They have a good selection of swimsuits and shoes. Handicap accessibility is good, parking is right in the front, and the store layout itself is spacious, the clothing racks are not tightly packed so you can maneuver around pretty easily read more

Cosmetic section is a complete joke. A bunch of rude, RACIST old hen's stuck in Hampton Bays. The staff in this department are just the rudest of human kind. I went there to inquire about a particular fragrance and had to wait at least 6-8 mins while the cashier continued to converse with her fellow co worker. She finally tried to assist me from the other side of the counter. Forget about it. I am disappointed in the lack of human respect I experienced in the pillow department. John was extremely sassy and disrespectful. John was rolling his eyes and talking rudely at myself and my mother. He is an animal of a human being and I am upset with the service provided in Macy's overall. All the other department stores at the Walt Whitman shops were so lovely and helpful and made the store feel like an environment I was happy to be in. The people they hire at Macy's are arrogant and very difficult. Bloomingdale's is the best store whilst Macy's one of it's competitors who should be trying to step up there game disappoints me time and time again. Although when I was trying to but a couch there was a very nice salesman who helped me work the virtual reality thing. This was the first time in years that someone in Macy's has treated me as a person. I thank him for not following in the footsteps of those before him. John in the pillow department was not only disrespectful so me but also to all the other customers I saw him deal with. I know you have bad days sometimes but when you work with human contact you should e able to put your day aside and do your job. It's a Mini Macy's.. It has a special feel though at the end of December when your running in to get a last minute present.. and it's snowy outside.. and you realize how cute this little Macy's is... out east away from it all. I like this place in the winter. read more

Costumer service makes it not wanting to go back in there again. Specially when it comes down to paying your bill. But, when they want to sell you something they are all over you that it is too overwhelming to make a decision. They hide or ignore you when you have a question or you are looking for something in specific. They freak out when it comes down to asking for a manager. Why Macy's ever decided to slap its name on Sterns, I'll never know. They bought out the throwback department store many moons ago, and didn't change a damn thing about it. This is the worst Macy's ever. I suppose it's because they have a captive audience, as HB has little to no shopping. However, Riverhead and the amazing Tanger outlets are just 15 minutes away, so why shop here?! Desperation. And the older residents of HB probably don't wanna trek to RH. So, they shop here. And I've shopped here. But it generally sucks. Be warned. The upside? Good sales, if you can find anything you actually want in the store. read more

We are all glad to have a Macy's in Hampton Bays! The selection maybe small here but the staff is really nice here and they take the time to walk you over to what your looking for. I know lots hate on this Macy's because of the poor selection but you know what this Macy's is better than no Macy's so don't complain. read more

Macys should really fix up this store and work on the inventory. It is the only department store in/near the Hamptons. With the demographics in the area, you would think that they would beef up the women's clothing and the housewares department. Why not have some upscale household appliances and decorative items? And, the clerks are always standing around looking stupid and chattering away. And, the styling of the merchandise and cleanliness of the store leaves something to be desired. I really feel that Macy's management is missing an opportunity here --- they are thinking of the Hamptons as a summer community --- but, the season is more and more extended; and, if they would upgrade the merchandise, they would probably do much better with this store. The cosmetics counter is the only place on the East End to buy Estee Lauder and top-line cosmetics. And, if they would upgrade their summer women's merchandise they would do better. I don't think they even carry Ralph Lauren in the store; they need some more upscale brands and they should advertise in the local papers, because the Hamptons is the one area where people actually read the local papers. read more

I appreciate the convenience of this store as I purchase moisturizer and make up regularly. The apparel and footwear staff is very nice and accommodating. The cosmetic staff is a different story. So much so that I won't be returning. Over the years, I have consistently been treated with at best thinly veiled hostility or downright rudeness. On a recent visit I politely asked if there was someone else who could help me (after standing waiting with not so much as a "I will be with you in a minute" as I saw the one visible sales woman was helping someone else, I politely asked and was met with "their are ONLY TWO of us on today". Well I would hope so, there was nobody else waiting to be helped!!!! All I wanted was to purchase my regular product and get out of there. Steer clear, buy online. read more

The hallmark of every pleasurable shopping experience is the customer service. The staff at this Macy's are just the nicest & most helpful folks in the world. They've always gone out of their way every time I've been in the store to hook me up with exactly what I'm looking for & the cashiers go the extra mile to incorporate any extra savings or current sales you might have missed. Came in with low expectations as I thought this store would probably be on the smaller side with less inventory than a typical Macys. They did have some designers that I shop on occasion such as INC and Style and Co. but nearly everything here catered to an older clientele probably ages 40-50+. Selection for juniors or any clothing youthful at all was near impossible to find. read more

Let me start off by saying that I would really love to know who the buyer of this Macy's is. I have never been disappointed with a Macy's as they usually have EVERYTHING - this Macy's though STINKS. The women's and junior's sections are severely lacking and they had no high end name brands which you can usually find at Macy's. You would think that since this is located right on the outskirts of the Hamptons, that they would want to bring in a few items that would appeal to the higher class shopper - but no they don't . Their clothes selection is nothing short of tacky. Every now and again I will find something I like in there, but it is a very RARE occurrence. The only reason I am extending 3 stars is because they do have a nice makeup counter. The makeup counter is not overrun with people like in mall department stores, so it is nice to go in there and receive individual attention. read more

The clerks are friendly, and the clothing selection is interesting, but there aren't many sizes-but I have one warning--DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE PLENTI card!
