Saw quite a few films here in the past as it was one of the closest movie theaters near me at the…read moretime when I still lived in California. What I liked about this theater was its size and design. There are so many movies you can watch here in IMAX or 2d or any kind you want. Best of all is how big each theater is inside the building. There are always plenty of seats and since its never too busy, it's overall easy to find parking now these days. The last movie I saw here was Avatar Way of Water in 2023 with my brother and we ended up getting the full 4d IMAX edition which was fun and enjoyable. Had comfy seats, the special effects like water being splashed on us, the seats moving like a roller coaster during certain scenes, and all the other awesome effects that made the movie a joy to watch. However, the reason I am giving the theater a 3/5 stars is because it can be a pain to navigate the kiosk used to purchase tickets. In the past they used to do it where you would speak to someone behind the glass and they'd give you the tickets. Now it's changed to where you just use a kiosk and purchase the tickets yourself which can be a bit of a hassle because of how confusing it is to navigate the kiosk. Another reason for the bad rating is because the floors tended to feel a bit dirty at times and sticky when walking around. In the end, it's still a good theater to visit and it has a bar and plenty of drinks or food to choose from if you want to go here to hang out with friends.

I love when a theater location has plenty of parking!…read more I prefer buying tickets ahead of time; it saves the hassle of using the kiosks, and I already have my seats picked out. No fuss, no muss. When we arrived, I had my QR code ready from my email, and getting scanned in was quick and easy. We used the restroom when we got there (no line, which was nice) but they were running low on paper towels. It was funny because the concession line was almost nonexistent as we came in, but by the time we headed over, it had gotten really long. That said, the employee who helped us was quick and efficient, and even recommended a combo that fit what we wanted. The auditorium itself felt a bit dated, I do wish they had upgraded to those recliner-style seats. After the movie, my partner noticed a spill on the floor and pointed it out to two employees walking by. Unfortunately, they either didn't hear us or chose to ignore it, which was a bit disappointing. We stopped by the restrooms again before leaving. This time, my stall was low on toilet paper, and in the men's restroom, the urinals weren't working, leaving only two stalls available. We chose this location mainly for convenience since we were trying a new lunch spot nearby, but overall, it was a mixed experience.

BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more DO NOT BUY ANY CONCESSIONS!!!! A bottle soda and SMALL bag of candy is $17! And the prices are not set and will change depending if they think you're rich. I was going to buy a bottle soda and a bag of penut m&ms and was horrified when it was rung up as $16 then put the soda back and they said the candy alone will be $7, put the candy back, the movie was long so I decided to buy the $7 candy, new person at the register and he tells me the candy is $8.75 plus tax when he saw my ring and then was rude to me when I asked why the price is now $8.75 and not $7. Go to the dollar tree beforehand and sneak it in, do not give them money and reward their price goauging.

Here are my impressions: First, I got an offer from Fandango to attend a screening of the new Wicked film, Wicked for Good. Without reading the fine print, I clicked on the accept button and found myself committed to driving from Modesto to Livermore for the show. That's OK as we enjoy the nearby Cattlemen's Restaurant and so went there for dinner beforehand. Life was good. After dinner, we scooted over to the parking near the theater and heading to the entrance. Unfortunately our Google took us the long ways around (when going from the parking to the entrance, cross the street, then turn LEFT to get into the place. Right works but will double the time and steps. From the start, we found the staff friendly and quite helpful, the automation to convert our printed code to actual tickets a little challenging at first but if we came a second time, we would have it nailed. The place was well run, clean, (bathrooms and theater) with the quality of the sound system spot on, and the screening, state of the art. We highly recommend the Livermore 13 Cinema - Cinema West if you live closer than we do!

The way they design the entrance after you scanned the ticket is interesting, where after ticket scanning you have to pass the snack/food/drink area. I usually get the popcorn. At this theater, it also have caramel and cheese popcorn and you can mix with regular popcorn. It also have other food like chicken strip and nuggets. It also serve alcohol drink. The studio we watch movie is pretty big and nice screen. I like the theater compare to other group as the sign to each studio is very clear. One not so pleasant experience was one person stands next to the grab and go popcorn. He doesn't looks like going to watch movie. The person also has unpleasant smell and when I want to grab the popcorn, he didn't move eventhough he kind of blocking the way to get the popcorn. I think the management need to control the hygiene and cleanest of food area and only allow people who watch movie in this area. I saw the person after a while walked out from the theater.

This theater is my favorite theater and #1 go-to in the Bay Area! You can't find many theaters…read morelike The Chabot Theater anymore, and I'll tell you why! The Chabot Theater has been around for 75 years. With only 1 movie screen, it has been visited by long-time residents and newcomers who share a passion for film and reasonable pricing. They may not have reserved seating or the best state of the art surround sound systems, but that's what makes it unique and what a 1990-2000s movie theater used to be like. Also, they feature local commercials, bands/music, and upcoming events before the movie starts, which is great to see the support for the community! One of the best things about this theater is that you can purchase tickets for 1/2 the price every Tuesday! As of August 2025, 1/2 priced tickets will be $6/each (Regular: $12), which is a steal these days and especially when you can watch some of the biggest blockbuster films! Keep in mind, if you are a child or senior, regular pricing is $10 (still a bargain!), but Tuesday pricing will remain $6/each. You can purchase both tickets and concessions together in the lobby, which makes the process simple and smooth. Parking is relatively easy - no dedicated parking lot, just the street so adhere to the posted signage. Most street parking is 2 hour limit, but if you're okay taking a short walk, find some side or cross streets to extend the limit especially if you're catching a film that's longer than 2 hours. If you're looking for a place to host an event, watch party, or birthday, they do that here (pricing on website). If you're looking for something fun to do during the week nights, they host trivia nights (free for everyone), family movie nights (tickets required), and karaoke nights (free for everyone) too! This theater is truly a gem, one that I hope remains a staple within the CV community, providing a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

There is always someone who is nice and happy you're there working and it makes you really feel like you're back to where you grew up. I always buy food/drink to help support. The ticket prices are the cheapest around (especially on half off tuesdays) and they even give free popcorn after the last showing lets out if they have any left! The seats in the lower half are probably the original seats (which makes it more nostalgic for me) and probably aren't the most comfortable but the upper half has been renovated with tables and chairs so if you want to eat actual food you can do so comfortably! They also host an array of events so there is always something going on!
