Macy's has gotten pretty bland in the last few years. I guess the recession hit the retailers pretty hard and Macys is no exception...that being said, Macys is suppose to be an upscale retailer. I have seen that other competitors like Marshalls and Norstrum rack has become fairly competitive to offering designer brands at an affordable price. They have been giving alot of coupons and discounts but i dont like the fact that the sales people have gotten a lot more pushy. read more

I had taken advantage over the weekend and shopped one of Macy's great sales. I've shopped here for years but generally only when the markdowns were significant. During my latest outing I had purchased some new dress shirts, slacks and a pair of shoes but when I arrived home and tried a pair of the slacks on I noticed they were a bit too tight. Two days later I finally found the time to take them back for an exchange. It was getting late, about 8:30, when I entered the store. I immediately made my way to the formal wear department which luckily for me, had returned to a lesser state of disaster compared to my Sunday evening visit. I was able to find two replacement pairs of slacks by the same designer with relative ease...although I did notice many of the styles were mixed and could be found spread over several racks. I then made my way to the checkout counter where I interacted with Daniel. I was a little worried that I was going to have a mess on my hands with the exchange as I had removed the tags on one pair of slacks when I tried them on and had misplaced my receipt...from the beginning I already had two strikes against me. It was no problem though as the clerk was able to find my previous transaction using my bank card. He returned the two pairs without any fuss. When the clerk rang up the new slacks I immediately noticed they were no longer at the sales price and had nearly doubled in price. I alerted the clerk but it was no sweat as he immediately clarified that he would still honor the sale price I had paid. A few seconds later and he was placing my items in the bag and I was headed out the door. I have been in the same retail store under similar circumstances and have had problems in the past, so this experience was definitely a pleasant visit. My fiance and I went here to register for our wedding. Our bridal consultant, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She got us set up with a scanner and a sample list of items, and checked in with us several times as we wandered the store. This is a very small store compared to Bay Area Macy's, so we had some difficulty finding even 100 items to add to the registry. Store is well laid out and neat, also not too crowded even on a Saturday. read more

She offered me samples of several products that she thought may work for my skin condition and was open to listening to my concerns. Went in last night to exchange a watch that I had purchased online. Encountered the worst experience at this Macy's. I was not acknowledge by this employee whom worked the women's watch department (tall man wears glasses speaks with an accent) until about 15 minutes later. They were not busy at all. End up returning the watch and took my business to Nordstrom. read more

I went to origins in there and it is not at all close to the river park GREAT customer care or even close to having available workers during work hours in that area!!! I was so disappointed because I'm so spoiled by the River Park Origins being so accommodating and so giving in their free facials and samples. Wonderful service from the folks in the TableTop Department and the Bridal Registry Team! If you want to register for gifts, make a registry appointment ahead of time! Yes they take walks in, but it is on a first come first serve basis. Our consultant, Robert Daniels, was great. Very helpful, not pushy! He went over the policies and procedures on registering. He let us know of all the great bonus programs available to us. And if we needed help, we did end up needing help in Housewares, he let us know which products were great, and the ones that were not so great! If I could give them no stars I would. I went to exchange a shoe for a different size but they didn't have it in stock, therefore the lady said she could order it for me and ship it to my address. Today we received the shoe EXCEPT it wasn't the correct one! It was a whole different shoe. I'm very upset by this. The lady helping us was not helpful nor knew what she was doing. I checked my receipt and it did not have a name on it. She was a tall chubby light hair (blonde/brown) lady who kept calling everyone "kids". Bad experience!! read more

I want to extend my thanks and appreciation to Elizabeth in the Customer Service Department who went the extra mile to resolve a problem with not receiving an item I had ordered from the jewelry department and charged for, and to locate the item. After spending three plus hours on the phone with various people at Macy's who were unhelpful and could not have cared less, Elizabeth really stepped up to assist me and resolve the problem. Macy's is the closest thing you'll come to an uspcale DEPARTMENT STORE in Fresno. They carry brands like Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Seven for all Mankind, Ellen Tracy, AG Jeans, etc. Sunglasses from Dior, Gucci, Fendi, Armani, Kate Spade, Juicy Couture...Stuart Weitzman shoes...Waterford crystal, Lladro porceline, kate spade(china and domestics) and Vera Wang(china/domestics). I love coming here...the largest cosmetics destination in Fresno, combined with Sephora almost all your cosmetics can be met in Fresno...well, no Creme de La Mer(yet?), Prada(cosmetics), no more La Praire, but yea. So if you're passing by Fresno, stop by Macy's...just be expecting something above JC Penney and Sears...but somethings that far below any Nordstrom you may have shopped. Women's jewelry accessory dept has the worst customer service! Will definitely avoid that area to shop for my accessories. I was ready to make my purchase, and when I asked the sales associate for assistance in checking me out, she replied "I'm sorry I'm off the clock I can't help you,find someone over there" and pointed in another direction. Yet she was standing next to the register fixing some stuff. Then a gentleman asked her for assistance, and she told him the same thing.only difference is she offered to get someone else to assist him. When she went to let another associate know a gentleman needed help the other lady replied "I can't help him right now, I'm helping someone else",and rapidly walked away. Seriously, if you work in customer service you should have a more amiable way of treating people. You guys are there for the customers. We are not asking for anything free!!! We are trying to make a purchase....or else we wouldn't be taking or asking for any of your precious time. I just had the worst experience of my life in Macy's. I needed to buy a formal gown for an event in two weeks. I found a gown I liked, but not in my size. I went to the desk, and asked a clerk who was on her cell phone if she could help me find it in my size. She responded that she did not work in that department. I then stood in line behind two other people and then asked the clerk "gayle" to help me find my size. She checked The computer and said they had my size, but she did not know where it was and did not have time to look. I asked if she could call the other Fresno store to see if they had my size. She said that would take a long time and since there were other people in line behind me, asked me to wait. I waited until she helped 2 other people, then stepped up and asked if she could call the other store. She asked if she could help the person behind me who had a return. I very politely said I have waited in line and would like her to call the other store. Instead of calling the other Fresno store, she called a store 45 minutes away and asked them to put one on hold for me. When I found out what she had done, I again asked her to call the other Fresno store to see if they had my size. She said it would take too long and asked me to wait. She helped 5 other customers while I stood there. While I was waiting I used my cell phone to try to call the other store. I was put on hold for 20 minutes. Eventually someone came on the line and I asked her to see if they have the dress in stock. I was put on hold again. When "Gayle" learned I was on hold with the other store she refused to try to call them herself and then proceeded to ignore me. I asked if she could have The dress shipped and she said she did not think it would get to me in time for the event. I asked for the Manager. 15 minutes later the manager arrived and assigned Stacy to help me. It was 45 minutes since I originally asked for help. Stacy had the dress ordered and waived the shipping fee, transaction was done in 15 minutes. We don't have many choices in Fresno for shopping. This review is for Macy's.com, not the actual store. On 12/18/16 I ordered two men's suits and the website said that all orders were guaranteed by Christmas. Within the next couple of days, I received two emails indicating that the suits were shipped separately. Both emails indicated that the items would arrive on 12/28/16, clearly AFTER Christmas. On 12/21/16, I emailed customer service and asked why my items were arriving after Christmas. I was told that if I ordered my items that morning they would arrive before Christmas. REALLY?!?!? I ordered earlier on 12/18/16 and can't have my items by Christmas??? I emailed back and asked if I should reorder the items. I was told that my items were shipped and the shipping time was just an estimate and hopefully they would arrive on time. I explained that these suits were my husband's Christmas gifts and I wanted them sooner. I asked to correspond with a manager. No response. I waited a day and sent a second email requesting to talk to a manager. Again NO RESPONSE. I emailed a 3rd time requesting and manager and letting them know that I would leave a review if no contact was made. Still NO RESPONSE and I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY ITEMS. I am very dissatisfied with the customer service received and false advertising indicating they will send the items before Christmas when this is not true. Thanks Macy's, now my husband will have nothing to open on Christmas! When holiday shopping, BUYER BEWARE! You won't get your items and you will be ignored in response! read more
