I received a call regarding a job application I put in, the position I applied for was for the lead and I was told I "probably don't have the skills" and was asked if I could work part time. Not even thinking about what she said because I barely even spoke or said anything about my experience for her to assume I don't have the skills. I agreed to the part time position but after telling her I worked at amazon she told me she has had people who worked at amazon work there and it "didn't" work for them", even after explaining my schedule and that I could make it work she said very rudely "well it wouldn't work for our company". read more

My boyfriend and I decided to me husband and wife this past July. It was so spontaneous that we were going save for an engagement ring. I was fine waiting. However, we just set our date to marry next June. Got me excited. It's my birthday tomorrow and all I wanted was a wedding planning book. He said show me the ring you wanted in Macy's. Well, Maria was the first jeweler to show me with my mother. So sweet, helpful and took het time. She also said it would bw going on sale soon. As soon as I placed the ring on my finger, I knew it was mine. Today we spoke with Jackie, who was so helpful, and sweet. My man said Happy Birthday and bought my ring! We took pictures and Jackie was kind enough to take a few also. Jackie and I cried tears of happiness. It warmed my heart. These beautiful ladies are now part of our story. In this time of the mall not being able to open except for hours 11 until 7 pm, I just think Macy's has it all together. The cashiers are very informative with all sales on the floor. I go to Macy's to shop when I can and find it very appealing to the eye. I went and shopped for Father's day. The item was not available and the nice cashier took the time to find it in another store. The item was delivered to my home and I now have a very cool gift to give to my Dad. Yikkkes this place has really really bad customer service! I've learned to be patient when I come because I know the service will be trash. From the makeup counters to the jewelry counters. I keep coming back because of the backstage area that has cheap clothes for the whole family. And I love my estee lauder makeup and it seems this is the only place that sells it in the area. But for real I got the managers number today, left a message for her to call me back. It's been 5 years now and I leave annoyed and frustrated almost every time because I'm ignored or I gotta track help down for some foundation for 45 minutes. Something has to give. read more

If you work for Macy's, please read. My experience was horrific. I waited in line for 30 minutes. There were two ladies working and I and the other customers assumed they would have the intelligence to understand to have one line and call each person one at a time. They couldn't even do that. There was one line of about 8 people for one lady ( who assumed there were two cashiers were working both lines) but then we unfortunately discovered that the other cashier was just creating their own line. Our line got so long , that the manager finally came over and made one line for both cashiers(which they should have done from that start) Then when I was next, the manager moved me to a new cashier. I was excited to be next. The cashier's machine died and then we had to move to a new cashier and we were behind the two people that were already in line. I waited about an hour just to buy one item. The people in front of that the workers were so unprofessional that they thought it should be on SNL. The painful outcome was that when I got to the counter they didn't even give me the discount that was on the hanger. They couldn't even find a bag to put my item in. Long store short for Macy's, I will be taking back my purchase because I found it online for half price. I am making this review just to warn Macy's that we are obviously not stupid. They need to understand the new generation. We check online . We are not going to purchase your merchandise, wait with incompetent workers, and overpay, when we can find it online for much cheeper. Your workers are incredibly incompetent. It was almost funny how slow and unknowledgeable there are. I need to warn you that the generation coming up is not going to tolerate this. I went today as I usually do to buy gifts for Father's Day. I was lied to about my coupon not being accepted before the cashier even read it. This Macy's is very basic and small compared to some of the other ones i've visited. I will say though, their customer service is great. The shoe department staff members are always willing to assist you and don't make you wait around like some other places. I'm that annoying customer who always requests 10 different shoes before choosing the perfect one and they're always willing to help me pick instead of giving me attitude or grief. Everything else through out the store is just...meh.... The service isn't always the best in other departments but still nothing to complain about. Over all, it's my moms favorite store and I feel like I end up here just about every weekend. I'm giving them 3 stars because of the lack of merchandise available. Nothing too great. Disappointing & unacceptable Is this location about to close? There are not enough people on the floor to assist or purchase items. This is true on regular fa, sales days, weekends and holidays. Disappointing. Looked for an addicted to help a return once. Saw a woman who looked like she was an associate and asked worked here. She said 'No.' I then find a manager and tell him I need help to return an item. He walks up to the same woman and says '... Anita (not actual name) please help this customer with her return. I then say in exasperation 'she just told me she didn't work here!' No response. Unacceptable. read more

Today my son 20 year old African American college student went shopping at the Macy's in Spotsylvania Mall, he was approached by one of the store employees, as he was trying items on in the dressing room. The employee "Jeremy" asked if he needed help my son said no. The employee waited outside the dressing room door until he came out. Jeremy proceeded to take the items from him as he escorted him around the store to complete his shopping. Once again my son told him he didn't need help, Jeremy returned the items but watched him as he completed his shopping. My son made his purchase on the way out stopped a manager and reported this encounter, the manager state this was not a store policy and should speak to the employee. read more

I opened a Macy's card because the Estee Lauder lady told me I would get and extra 20% off on all my purchases on the first 2 days when my card is opened....so I did! So less than a month later, I received my bill and only saw the 20% discount applied to a few of the purchases I made...about $1000 total. I contacted customer service, (Erickson G was his name) and they refused to add the discounts I should have received. He transferred me to a supervisor (Eliana F) and she refused to help me as well. Long story short, what the Estee Lauder lady failed to tell me is the 20% off has a MAX LIMIT of $100. But...to make it worse, Macy's customer service failed to resolve it. They lost me as a customer forever....I was worth less than $110 in promised discounts. Cancelling the card and shopping at Belk from now on. read more

Don't shop here. There only about 3 places in the store to pay. Often there is no one at these "service" desks. Service is a misnomer if ever there was one. There's no service at Macy's. I am handicapped so walking around with my cane looking for someone to take care of me is especially difficult. The guy who was the good manager left. There are so many other places to buy clothes, shoes, whatever you need that are much easier to shop in and so much cheaper. For clothes, go to Old Navy, Target, and Kohls. I often find shoes at Kohls, Target, Old Navy, and even Walmart. J.C. Penney in Spotsylvania Mall has a lot of shoes and you can park right outside the shoe department. If you want expensive comfort shoes, go to Saxons in the Village at Spotsylvania Mall. For linens and housewares, go to Target, Kohls, Bed Bath and Beyond, and even Walmart. Wegmans sells things like spatulas and can openers. Go anywhere but to Macy's. read more

I'm a macys girl and I love shopping at Macy's just cause theres everything to offer at one big department store...I'm a little disappointed on the juniors section they don't have center brand that I look for and they have limited clothing so is the shoe department... I'm a size five and all the shoes are size six and up..every time I go to this Macy there is only one or two people strolling around even on the weekend I never seen a Macy that lacks people... But I actually don't mind it...easy for my to shop and no lines is a plus! read more

I went to Macy's Stores last night and had the worst experience, The customer service was terrible we arrived at the store at 7:30 pm and an associate came up to us while shopping she started to say that the store was closing in 20 minutes, as we continued to shop she made sure she would remind us of the store closing, I came in to purchase a prom dress for my daughter, I honestly have never been so upset by a shopping experience. Not to mention that the intercom announcements were stating the time they were closing as well. The reason I was truly mad about this is that the mall does not close until 9:30 pm so why can a store within the mall, close early. Not a happy shopper!!!! read more

If you want to know how the American diplomats in Cuba felt after they were subjected to sonic harassment, just visit this Macy's during one of their "events." The noise that passed for music during today's event in the cosmetics area left both my wife and I with headaches. And we weren't even in cosmetics. The volume and the subharmonics were overwhelming and we had to leave. But not before asking for the store manager and getting a department manager who said that, "It's only for three hours." Please be very cautious about purchasing high-end watches from Macy's. I purchased a $300 Coach watch at full price, it stopped working after 3 weeks, I had my receipt and went back to Macy's within 30 days & they refused to talk to me b/c the watch had been "altered." The alteration was one link that was removed by them (i had the link). They stated they had no further responsibility b/c I didn't purchase the extended warranty. I guess I was supposed to wear my new watch too big until after the first 30 days?! 2 of my friends and I went to Macy's to try on prom dresses because prom is next weekend. We were at the mall looking for dresses and Macy's was our last stop. We found our dresses and used the largest dressing room because we wanted to see each other's and color coordinate. We did not know the store was closed until a rude employee knocked on the door and threatened us. We asked if we could finish and she said no because the cash registers were closed. We were going to buy our dresses here, but we could not because of this employee. I wish I had gotten her name, but I did not. My friend was only in her undergarments and the employee was looking at her through the slits in the door. She stole the dresses from us, yanked them out of our hands. When we were in our own clothes, we left the dressing room and all the lights were shut out. Our car was parked on the other side of the mall, so we had to walk to the other side. As we approached the doors, we noticed they were closed. An employee was standing near so we asked if she could open it for us. She rudely said that no other employee would do this for us. As we left the store she told us we need to check their hours next time. She was obviously very inconsiderate of our feelings and our business. read more
