If there was a negative rating I would give it to the Macy's store in Fargo. I bought a dress there at the end of June for a wedding. After I got it home and took it out to try on with accessories and shoes I realized that they had not removed the security tag. I called the first day and explain the situation as I lived 200 miles away, 400 mi round trip. I was told to take a big magnet and try and get the security tag to release. After utilizing several big magnets with no success I called back the next day. I was then instructed to take it to one of our local stores and see if they could get it removed. A shout out to TJ Maxx as they tried diligently to get the tag to remove. Unfortunately that was also unsuccessful. I called back a third day and explain the situation. I have left my contact information each time I called for one of the managers to call me and see what my options are. I have yet to receive a call 4 days later. I need the dress for next week. I finally called the online customer service. I had to repurchase the dress and have it express shipped to me, they did cover the express shipping. I also have to box up the current dress and ship it back to the Macy's store in Fargo. All of this has been very time-consuming and I've wasted lunch hours trying to clear this up. I find it very disappointing that no one could call me back from the local store. At this point you think they could have given me a little bit of a discount but nothing at all. read more

The West Acres Macy's is like a 1980s Superstar that fell from Grace their signs of former glory riddled in a carpet of needle scars and bad habits. I wouldn't be surprised if they were $6,000 in the hole and dead by Christmas. They must have all openings for management positions because there's zero leadership visible to the naked eye. A good example of this is a manager named Tristan; I asked them for help and they immediately bypassed me to another person who was already in the middle of something. I saw them do this to eight other customers including their own employees. This Tristan avoids leadership like covid. I'm assuming with an educated guess that 99% of all the other leadership is in the same position; people who fill the position but don't have a proper leadership bone in their body, theses people are not leaders they're parasites sucking the life out of one of the most renowned names in capitalism. I make this educated guess based on the experience I had. I was immediately bypassed (by Tristan) to another employee named Sara. This poor woman was already in the middle of what seemed to be five different projects when I was dumped on her she stayed calm kept her composure and gave me the best service she possibly could for that and only that I give Macy's one star. However if I could give zero I would because management like Tristan makes customers feel like burdens who are unwanted. Whoever designed the store is a complete imbecile putting the cash registers as far away from the West Acres entrance as humanly possible shows their lack of critical thinking and understanding of Logistics 101. Macy's thinks people are coming to the mall just to see them without a thought that maybe just maybe the biggest store in the entirety of North Dakota might have other things to offer. Macy's has everything you expect in a dying retail store; staff trying to do the absolute best with little to no help, worn out furnishings, dead light bulbs and dust bunnies as far as the eye can see. Obnoxious plants and fake vases are everywhere not for sale but it distract you from The Wretched atmosphere. What they don't give you is selection of quality Goods. I hope the CEOs flush this turd quickly because there's no way in polishing it. read more

Never had an issue here. Found some stuff to buy. I think that it is a fine store to go to.

It's been eons since I've actually gone to the mall, but today I took my elderly mother shopping and she wanted to see what Macy's had to offer. I'm guessing the cleaning crew must have quit years ago as the place was filthy. I don't mean 'it's winter in North Dakota and customers brought snow covered shoes in filthy'; I mean no one has used a vacuum cleaner to pick up the dust bunnies that were the size of the illusive Jack-a-lops you hear old timers talk about filthy! I also had the pleasure of getting to use some force to remove my shoe from the sticky - not because a small child spilled a sticky beverage - but because the floor hasn't been mopped in who knows how long sticky residue that could require a Haz Mat team to clean up (by the men's fragrance counter). I won't even mention the stained carpets. Seems like this could be an anchor store that's about to be shuttered. Sad, considering what it once was (pre-Macy's). read more

Nice deals here after the holidays, although their petite selection is a bit lacking. Still, nice if you want to get some decently discounted pre- and post-holiday sales with 60% off some items, add 15% if you have the Macy's card or a WoW holiday card, and 20% off coupon from the newspaper. Went to Macy's to purchase a pair of shoes. I found two pairs I liked and asked the associate for the size I needed. When she brought the boxes of shoes, she had the wrong shoe and wrong sizes. I was not amused and walked out. I will not recommend to anyone going to Macy's. Customer service needs some cleaning up and training! read more

It's a small Macy's. I will only evaluate the men's section which is where I'm used to shop from. It's never busy and you don't really see the sales staff at first view but they pop up when you need them. They are nice overall. In terms of selection, this Macy's is quite basic. I think it carries some Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole and their INC brand. They also carry Polo and Hilfiger but IMO only middle age people should wear that stuff. Other brands like Hurley, Nike, Underarmor are available in limited selection. Boss, Lacoste, Buffalo, G Star, Marc Jacobs are MIA. The shoe section was so small I just ran away. Pretty much I just buy from Macys.com and just come here to return stuff that doesn't fit or I don't like. read more

Since this incident, I have visited this location around a dozen more occasions and have noticed an improvement in customer service which seems to have to do with the new blood that have been hired. It's been a slow but steady improvement and one I am glad to experience. Maybe the older cashiers were just too complacent? read more

There's a manager named Diane working here and she is the nastiest customer service worker I've come across. I'd avoid her and come shop if she's not around as her temper is out of control read more
