This is a review for the make-up section at Macy's, and specifically in honor of the amazing saleswoman who helped me - Jazmine. So, it's five in the evening on Wednesday, and I drag myself out to my least favourite place in Columbus: Easton. Unfortunately, you can only buy Urban Decay eyeliner at Macy's or Sephora in Columbus, and as I didn't feel like going to Polaris, I ended up at Macy's. As soon as I walked inside, it started pouring sideways rain and tornado sirens started going off. It figures. Bad, bad, little communist. This is what you get for spending seventeen dollars on a single stick of eyeliner. Anyway, I almost immediately bumped into Jazmine, who informed me that I had to go to the corner with a bunch of other people, because apparently we were all going to be sucked up by a twister. I asked her if she was joking, but she was very calm and approachable about the whole matter, and shuffled us all away into the men's Polo section. Once it was confirmed that a tornadee was in fact *not* going to git us, we were able to shop again. Jazmine immediately helped me when I arrived back in her section... I had a bunch of questions about different colors and products, and she was really helpful and sweet and well spoken and... everything I would hope for in someone who is selling me quality make up products. I swear to God, this is why I don't go to Sephora anymore. See my review of the Sephora at Polaris... those girls... *shakes fist in air* But at the magical oasis of Macy's (omg), Jazmine even did a lipstick application for me - and the color she picked was awesome. (Urban Decay "Naked" - I def bought it...) However, it is almost always my experience that sales people at Macy's (and Nordstrom) are fairly genuine, and this does leagues for their business. I was really just going to buy the eyeliner I came for, but ended up picking up several other products I had been interested in (oh, sinful gluttony!) because I trusted and really liked Jazmine and because I do think good makeup is a quality investment. I'm telling you, makeup and shoes are my weakness. Despite my politics, I am still a girlie girl. But, I want to be treated respectfully and attentively - and this was exactly my experience at Macy's this week. Thus, they have created a loyal customer (AND I had a similar experience at the Polaris Macy's in the perfume dept. a while back). I thoroughly enjoy this Macy's Maybe a little too much at times. 1. Amazing make up counter. The Benefit counter and the Mac counter usually battle it out to get my attention. But sometimes Shisedo or Lancome distracts me. Anyway...the Benefit counter has an eyebrow bar! YES! An eyebrow bar! The Mac counter is just big and lovely and well, a Mac counter. You can't go wrong there. 2. The shoe section is sex on a stick. I just love shoes and they have a lot of them. And they're all gorgeous. 3. The Misses section is great. It has Michael Kors, BCBG, etc etc. Really stylish and not frumpy. 4. The Juniors section is awesome too. They have an AWESOME jewelry/accessories section. Check it out. 5. They have a great selection of Ohio State Buckeyes gear. I am building my gigantic collection as we speak. It's all cute stuff too (think glitter and rhinestones!) 6. There is a Starbucks inside (near the shoes and Benefit makeup counter). Praise the Lord!! Quick tip: If you're ever there during a tornado (I have been), go straight to the Men's dept. It's the safest part of the store. read more

One of the nicest looking Macy's in town. Bright, clean and modern feeling. Not very clumpy like many of the others. A visit over the weekend was nice but hard to find someone to help you in shoes. But that's normal for Macy's. read more

I purchased a Ralph Lauren swimsuit today for 120.00 to take to Myrtle Beach Friday and a cruise at the end of the month. Still looking for the right one, I decided to take it back a few hours later but the clerk turned my husband away stating there was a missing liner, in which at first we didn't understand what she was talking about. As a result, I called and spoke to Toy, a manager after I spoke to a supervisor and explained the situation. Her first question was, "okay, but did you bother to check to see if there was a liner in it before you bought it, mam". I suggested I didn't even know it was supposed to have one since I don't swim and have not worn a swimsuit in a decade. She suggested they have a strict policy and that she would call Easton. That is something I could do myself, and Easton is 35 minute drive, and theirs is 5 minutes. I told her I would make a review and she said "okay", in a tone that suggest she doesn't care. I never even received an apology though I could have been stuck with a unsanitary item, as Toy referred to it. Her excuse was she wasn't the one who sold it to me, but I explained you represent Macy's. We have spent thousands of dollars and the year isn't even over yet on furniture including two large dressers and a computer desk, bedding, dresses, men's clothing, brands like Patricia Nash, Ralph Lauren,purses, kitchenware including crystal glasses, sunglasses, costume jewelry, perfume, cologne, shoes and I just bought 6 material girl dresses within two week's just within the last month. I didn't share this with the manager because I could tell she thought for me it was about money, however it is about feeling like a valued customer. If I told her this she would say it was bragging instead of viewing my feedback the way a professional manager would, and recognize me as valued customer of Macy's, in which my husband and I are. I buy makeup frequently from the Mac counter located inside of Macy's. I had to go to Polaris just to get my face done for my engagement photos because I get ignored majority of the time at the counter waiting, though no one is in line. I don't get acknowledged because they are doing one face and cant be bothered to ring me out, or even say I'll be with you in a moment. That is crazy!!!!!! I have had enough of the attitude at this location and will no longer shop here again just because they are not far. They act as if they are doing you a favor for assisting, and come across as mean spirited. They are ready to argue with you at the drop of a dime too. Not a fun shopping experience at all. Shame!!!!! Thankfully Easton took it back and I will just shop there or Polaris where I have so far o complaints, and they have more of a variety anyways. I won't quit Macy's and this month I spent 166.00 in free money from Macy's awards program, that I have kept since Christmas. I spent 60.00 in free money right before Christmas as well. That's over 200.00 in awards. Shut this Macy's down already!!!!!! read more

I LOVE this Macy's! I always find the BEST bargains on the cutest clothes. They have an awesome "Better Misses" section that has higher end brands usually at 30-65% off. You can't beat it. No other Macy's in the area has a better selection of the type of clothes. They also have a great selection of guys clothes at amazing sales. AND bed lines. Of course when I go into macy's I go straight to the sale racks. AVOID the shoe department. It's a nightmare. No one to help you, shoes everywhere, and the sales are never that good. I like how it has a starbucks. They usually aren't too busy and are quick with drinks. The staff is always friendly and 9 times out of ten someone is at a nearby register to check you out quickly. Plus they'll attempt to try coupons if you're not sure if they'll work. Plus, if you bought something right before it went on sale the next weekend, bring in the receipt and they'll do a price adjustment, no questions asked! Love that! Wife and I stopped in on the day after Christmas. We were there to pick up some stuff for a upcoming wedding. My wife is never one to hook up the expensive jewelry, and just wanted a little trinket piece for around her neck. The display for the item was on the Jewelry counter. However the Jewelry person could not sell it to me, because it was not in the case. She did not know who could sell this to us. We went to the purse counter, who sent us back to the Jewelry counter. Here's the thing: If this was black Friday, and all the seasonal help just started, I could forgive this. But this is the day after Christmas, I would have thought they would have the kinks worked out at this point as to who can sell what. So be it. On a positive note, they have in store-child care while you shop. Downside? wasn't open at 6 p.m. when we were there. We had to keep a hyperactive three year old from tearing the place up. That's not Macy's fault though, but added to the unmemorable experience we had. read more

I'm normally not a fan of Macy's. I've never really been able to find what I want there and head to Nordstrom instead. But today, I really have to give them 4 stars for customer service. My mom found a beverage server online from the Martha Stewart line for $100. She went to the Macy's at Eastland and they didn't have them in stock but they called the Easton location and they had it. Not only did they hold one back for her, but gave her the Friends and Family discount that they had going on right now. And she used her card. A $100 item was now $45. I went today to go pick it up and the staff member who helped me was so friendly! She even remembered talking to my mother on the phone and wished us luck with the party. It was nice that they were so friendly and we were in and out of there within 5 minutes with the item that we needed. I kept asking if that was all she needed because it was so easy! read more

Not the best customer Ive experienced. I can just say I wont be going back. Reluctant guest service and begrudgingly had my online return processed without even a thank you or offer of any assistance at all. Not going back. Ill shop online, maybe if sure the item fits (placemats or something) so i wont have to store return. (Online makes it sounds simple and friendly) its not. The post office is friendlier with packages and at least greets and thanks you. read more

Back when I was a little squirt, Macy's was a high-end affair. It was a cut above the prevalent department stores of the time, like Lazarus or Penney's, and light years beyond my family's mainstay, K-Mart. (No, we weren't poor -my father was just a cheapskate.) By the time I hit college, I realized Macy's was no longer that gold standard of the department store shopping experience. It had become, well, ordinary. To top it all off, while shopping malls were reasonably cool places to scope potential dates in my teens, they had since become tedious. Congested. Disorienting. Just a general pain in the butt. And this is Easton, a place I genuinely go out of my way to avoid for all the above reasons. Just give me a laptop and my Amazon account and let me do my holiday shopping in my pajamas. Yes, getting older can be so liberating. My recent trip to Macy's was the result of an unexpected meltdown of my beloved Cuisinart coffee grinder. Anyone who knows me knows I start twitching when I am deprived of my coffee, so I immediately did some online price comparisons on a sexy new Breville grinder, and oddly enough, Macy's price-matched the one I wanted and had one at the beloved Easton store. I groaned but, knowing caffeine relief was a 20-minute drive away, placed my pickup order and drove out there. What happened next was mostly my fault. I didn't notice the small print on the website which stated my grinder should be ready for pickup in a few hours. I scoffed at the admonition, thinking, for years, 15 minutes has been the standard pickup time for even the lesser retailers. I was certain this was just a written safeguard; what would they need a few hours for? To manufacture it? True to their word, when I arrived at the pickup counter 45 minutes after the order, the sleepy-eyed clerk could scarcely look up from inspecting her nails to sigh that it wouldn't be ready for another couple hours. I had it coming, I suppose. They warned me and I ignored them. I grumbled and decided to putz around the mall until then, when she perked up and added, "Oh, looks like the guy who fills the online orders left for the day. You can get it tomorrow." My eyes widened. I wanted to say something, but this was my fault. I betrayed Amazon and came to Macy's for what I thought would be convenience. To add insult to injury, by the time I got home, I received an email stating my grinder was ready for pickup. I guess Sleepy Eyes' crystal ball was a bit off that day. Clearly my two stars is not reflective of the sum total of Macy's, but it's probably more reflective of my general opinion of Macy's (3 stars), minus my experience and their somewhat ridiculous pickup wait policy. It's a store, folks. You can drive there, park the car, walk in, and buy stuff. But I just don't like brick and mortar shopping anymore, and any negative experience like this one is only going to further cement my love affair with Amazon. But then I'm one step away from telling kids to get off my lawn, so this should come as no surprise. read more

I love this Macy's store! I have shopped here for years, in all departments. I especially love the men's suit department with the free personal shopper, which you can set up an appointment with to help you with fittings and picking out the right style. I love the shoe apartment because I wear an 11, which most stores do not carry. The cure a pretty good selection of shoes, if they don't have them, they will order them. I also like the women's clothing department and housewares department. When I go there everyone at the store is friendly and very helpful! I noticed people only write reviews when things go bad, so I thought I would write about my favorite Macy's store. read more

DO NOT USE YOUR MACYS CARD HERE! The other day I went to make a purchase at this Macy's. The woman asked I would be using my Macy's card and I said, "yes, if it is still open I will. Can you look it up?" The woman then had me type my ssn and income in the keypad- this did not strike me as odd as I figured they were seeing if I was eligible for a targeted CLI since it had been so long since I used the card. Then the system started asking me more questions that seemed like a crowd card application so I stoped typing in the info and my husband asked, "are you just having her do a new application?". The woman assured me no, and after typing in all the info told me my old card was closed and wanted to know if I wanted to apply for a new card. I told her no as my husband and I are trying to build credit to purchase a home. A week later I get a letter in the mail telling me my application was declined due to not enough information. The information she had me fill out WAS an application and we were lied to. Additionally, when I called customer service to address the issue they said they saw my old card (under my maiden name, which I had provided to the sales associate). Fortunately I work in the credit card industry for a major financial institution, so I understand the impact that these sorts of deceptive cards practices have. I sent an email to complaints, and called their customer service. Customer service *said* they were removing the hit- but I will be ordering my credit report to ensure this was done. For someone who is trying to build their credit and doesn't understand what was done/what their options are this is disgustingly predatory. Do not trust this location of looking up your Macy's card or give them your business if you are looking to open a new card as they clearly do not respect their customers credit decisions. As for the store, if you are liking to pay cash or use another card I do feel as though it has the best selection of any Macy's in the area, so they have that going for them. I for one though will not be back to any Macy's after this experience, but that's just my personal decision after this experience read more

We were looking for a sport coat for my husband...Mike our sales person was so helpful in the fit and selections of the beautiful jacket. His suggestions were on point & so helpful. The sleeves needed alterations about an inch. I went to Macy's at Easton on a Sunday morning, just as they opened. The women's plus size section was trashed. Clothing laying on the floors, clothing heaped in piles near the dressing rooms, what was on the racks was disorganized. I visit thrift stores that look nicer. There appeared to be just one person working the register, nobody to tidy up the area or provide any assistance. Then, because I came in to actually try on clothes to determine my appropriate size, they don't carry all the brands they have online, and their selection, sizes etc. were pretty limited. As I was leaving I noticed the other clothing departments appeared similarly trashed. I would think Macy's could staff a bit better to ensure their store looks decent, at least when it first opens. Went in to Macy's to buy a Tux for my son's prom and ended up finding the new Tux shop @ Macy's. Instead of buying a suit I ended up renting a wonderful tux from the very nice ladies there. They were very helpful and knew their stuff! Highly recommend renting from them! read more

I love Macy's! I find the cutest dresses for less than $15 on their final clearance and they are always having a great sale. This location has a lot of great find, but the customer service has always been lacking. When I'm checking out I've always felt that I was bothering the associates, if I see someone on the floor and ask for help or direction they always look so annoyed. I've always just dealt with it, however this past weekend after shopping the women's section I went over to the men department to do some present shopping. What a different world! Still great deal but the employees were so nice! Multiple employees asked if I needed help, however not in the annoying way or the "please say no" way they were very genuine. Incredibility helpful, offered to set some of my stuff aside so I wouldn't have to carry it, and when I was checking out (and did have A LOT of items) Ron didn't seem rushed or bothered at all! Because he was so pleasant I was actually receptive to the credit card pitch and actually signed up! read more

I want to give this Macy's 4 stars, but there seems to be a huge discrepancy in the competency of their employees. Some of them are incredibly friendly and helpful, and others are unbelievably slow and uninformed. Exhibit 1: I did an online pick-up-in-store order, but it had both jewelry (which is typically picked up in the fine jewelry area) and non-jewelry items (which are held upstairs). I ended up going to regular pick-up area since my confirmation email wasn't very clear about where to go, only to find that it wasn't there. To save me from having to run around the store, the employee upstairs called down to confirm that my order was held at fine jewelry (it was), and the people downstairs had everything ready for me in the 30 seconds it took for me to ride the escalator. All in all, even with the initial error, my visit took about 10 minutes. Great service! Exhibit 2: I needed to make a return on a few pairs of earrings, so I just went to the nearest service counter. The cashier was ringing up a woman (no line), so I figured this would only take a few minutes maximum. Somehow, fifteen minutes later, she's still figuring out how to finish up the purchase, but more annoying was her blatant indifference for how long the transaction was taking. I was about to go to another register when a different employee finally showed up to help me with my return...only to tell me that jewelry could only be returned at the fine-jewelry counter. At the fine-jewelry counter, I was told that although *fine jewelry* did need to be returned there, normal jewelry (i.e. the two less-than-$25 pairs of earrings I had) could be returned at any counter. Which makes sense - if I can buy them at a register in any department (pretty sure I made my purchase in the men's section), then why can't I do the same for returns? It only cost me an extra maybe 2-3 minutes total, but the principal really irks me. I do like that the store is kept very clean and well-organized, and you can always find good sales occurring. Over priced. They got rid of the only things that were decently priced. Trying to be like Nordstrom. Also they have drastically cut back on product and now have more bouquet like items. The service while ordering furniture (a combination of in-store at Easton and online) was excellent. However, every piece of furniture I ordered has arrived damaged. My coffee table was replaced, and the replacement has a big scratch in the side. Now I have to call customer service again and arrange a replacement coffee table for the second time. My couch arrived damaged and I had to schedule an appointment with a "touch up" specialist. He determined that he could not fix the base, so he ordered a replacement part (new base) which will arrive in 6-8 weeks (not here yet). When it arrives, I need to call Macy's and schedule an appointment again for it to be attached to the couch. The furniture looks nice but apparently Macy's is unable to deliver a piece of new furniture undamaged. Given that their items are not cheap, I would recommend you shop elsewhere for furniture as this has turned into a long, drawn-out process that will last several weeks or months. read more

During this visit to the Easton Macy's, I was shopping in the men's shoe department. The service was wonderful. Unfortunately, I don't remember the man's name that helped me but he definitely enjoyed his job. He was always smiling and willing to get another size if the current one didn't work. He even gave us a discount on the display shoe without me having to ask! Macy's was having a sale storewide when I went and I didn't have to show him that coupon either, he took it right off the price. I walked out with who pair of shoes because he was so helpful. Needed something they do not have in store and one associate told me where I can get it and it was not a Macy's store she referred to. Very thankful I moved. This Macy's is really clean and well organized. I can't afford most things here, full price or sale price, but they are good quality. My mother-in-law bought me some pieces for work and the sales woman was nice enough to ring up about 7 different transactions so my mother-in-law could use all the coupons she receives as a Macy's cardholder. I really enjoy the INC line they carry. read more

I called to place an item on hold. After being transferred back and forth between departments I found out the department I was being transferred to was not even staffed at the time I called. When I was transferred back to the only staff in the men's department she was rude and told me she was assisting a customer and didn't find another associate to assist me until I had been on the phone for 20+ minutes. read more

.My husband and I just tried to shop here and no one could help us. We went to the men's shoe department and tried to buy shoes the guy could locate them and the previous customer's shoes as well. Then we went and found a couple other things and some items in children department. The lady clearly only wanted to help her friends. There was no one in line. As I approached the counter one of her friends came up and threw a part of pants in front of me asked how much they were and then bought them. I was the next in line and then her other friend was ready and so she was like hold on I need to ring her. I left there without buying a thing. I hate Macy if it's not one thing it another. Good selection, though recently it seems like their merchandising strategy has changed slightly, and some of the standby Macy's brands (Jones New York in particular) are no longer carried. The reason I only give this Macy's two stars, though, is that it seems to be understaffed. Lines were ten to fifteen people long, and finding someone in the shoe department to bring shoes to try on took fifteen minutes. It turned what should have been an easy shoe purchase into a more than half hour ordeal. read more

They force you to go paperless for statements when using their credit card, but send no indication via email that your bill is ready for payment, and off course their is no paper statement in the mail. I believe that they intentional do this in order to ruin your credit, and then charge you late fees. I will not shop there ever again. No wonder their profits are so low and that they had to close so many retails stores. read more

Store looks completely remodeled and new. Looks nice. I looked around for jewelry and ended up confused where everything was. some associates were friendly and showed me which way was the jewelry and women's clothing was located. This associate who checked me out was nice enough to walk me over to the shoes department. She told me if I had any questions I could ask her and she was willing to help right away. I forgot her name however she is asian. Thanks to her I had a good experience shopping! read more

Nothing worse to ruin a shopping experience than having your credit card info stolen. And I believe it was an INSIDE JOB. My last (and I do mean LAST) credit card use at Macy's Easton last Spring has turned into a credit nightmare. I made a purchase in March. I paid they bill. But my card was used a couple of months later. When I called to inquire about the questionable purchase I was put on the even more fraudulent trail of "investigation". Police reports were filed, affidavits sent to Macy's fraud dept. Nothing. But more bills came, with interest. I sent Macy's billing a copy of the investigation papers. Nothing. They billed me again with interest. Nothing from fraud investigation. And now, the ultimate insult: a letter from a collections agency. Yes, I'll report them to the credit agencies but I won't be a Macy's shopper EVER AGAIN and will be sure to tell my friends with Macy's cards that if they do choose to shop there -- pay cash. read more

I tried to place an order for three items through Macy's website. When I attempted to enter my three gift cards, an error popped up to call customer service. When I did this, I had to go through ordering all three of my items again, and then reciting my three gift cards numbers to the customer service rep. I was put on hold for a long time and when the rep came back on the line, he told me one gift card was worth $60 but the other two would have to be addressed with the gift card department. After 40 minutes on the phone, he was going to take my credit card number and hung up during me giving him the number. I called back assuming that since they had my order and all of my information, I would just have to give them my credit card. Instead, I had to go through the whole process again. Again, we got to the gift cards and again I was put on hold. This time, the rep came back on the line and said that she would have to contact the gift card department for all THREE gift cards. She told me that "since I would not go to the ticket counter" in person, I would have to be on hold for "a while" again. I had never been asked to go to a gift card counter, and if I had been, I would have explained that I'm disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, I cannot drive and I cannot get to a store. After the reps rudeness, I hung up and placed my order online, not getting the 25% discount that both reps had offered me and not being able to use any gift cards. I'm horrified at the service I received! read more
