***Please read*** before calling/using another "Septic Service". I live in Virginia however I…read moreinherited my mother's home in Shawnee Ok. Not knowing who to call and unfortunately not asking the neighbors (who practically all use "Jim's) I called the company "Google" said was the closest. The first time they came, they pumped out the system and replaced a pump. I had to call them back out because it was still not working properly. They stated they had to replace a second pump, unfortunately that also didn't fix the problem. They called their boss, who told them to "cut" the lines to the chlorine/nitrogen canister, stating it would fix the low pressure issue. It worked and all was fine. I recently called them out because the neighbors said the system was going off all day/night. I also wanted it pumped out because it was going on the market soon. I asked if they could write out a statement that the system was recently serviced and all systems/pumps were in working order. They stated they would have the technician pump out the system, check why sprinklers were continually going off, check that the timers were set correctly and write something up for the realtor. Service was performed however when I get back to Shawnee, I notice the sprinklers going off literally almost hourly all day. The neighbors now step in and tell me to "only" call Jim's s. I call at 7am the next morning and they are here in an hour. They opened the covers to the septic system and timers. In under 5 seconds, Gary (from Jim's) said, I see exactly what's wrong. The timer is set opposite of what it should be and the sprinklers are going off because your toilet probably has a leak (he was right, it had been hissing non stop). He also noticed that the system needed an inlet T to distribute solid waste. I question why did the other business not notice this after multiple times out? Gary stated the system wouldn't pass code with the chlorine/nitrogen canister lines cut. He said the other company "should have known" that the company who made the canister, came out with an easy fix. It only required the filter to be removed. Now because of the other companies "quick fix", to get it to pass code, I have to buy a new bleach/nitrogen system (it can't be repaired). I asked how much their pumps would have cost, Jim's prices were hundreds less for new and if possible, they try and rebuild them for much less. I also asked their pump out/cleaning price, it was lower than what the other local business charges.... I learned a valuable lesson to always ask your neighbors who they use. This Virginian hopes from my experience, that I can save the sweet people in Shawnee Oklahoma time/money, if they have septic system problems.

If you haven't had your septic pumped (recommended every 3-5 years depending on family size and…read moreusage) then you need to before you end up like us! Last night at midnight I was doing dishes, running the dishwasher and running the laundry machine and walked into the master bathroom and water was flowing out of the drain in the shower (which is right outside of the septic area outside). I stood in the shower plugging up the drain with my foot and was ankle deep as I watched it flow into our bedroom on the carpet! My husband got the shop vac and my kids got towels and we went to work to try to stop the flow and devise a plan. My friend recommended that I call vet septic because they just had this issue a month or so ago! It was after hours but a guy named Brandon walked me through what to do immediately. There is a white cap on the outside of the house that he had me open, and that released pressure and water came out of the pipe and the shower drained and flooding subsided! Grateful for relief we clorox wiped and cleaned as best as we could and made it a point to not flush or put anything down the drains until they got out here. This morning they squeezed us in and Brandon took the time to educate me on what to do next time and on everything septic. He also said to make it easier next time we can install a riser and he won't have to dig to pump the waste. He ended up finding that the installers put a riser on but it wasn't above ground so he offered to install one this week or we could come pick up the part and install it ourselves to save money. Times are tough right now with inflation so I appreciate the DIY option! I put them on my Google calendar schedule to come back in two years, since our sludge level was so deep and we have a big family, and he'll reassess our sludge layer and see if we can go longer next time. We built our home and this was the first time we have had to pump it. I'm glad they were available at midnight to walk us through what to do to stop the water flowing, and today to fit us in so we can get back to using our toilets! I highly recommend them because I always appreciate a company that will take the time to educate their customers! You can tell they aren't solely in it for the money, because time is money, and they offered a DIY option. Thank you, Brandon and Vet Septic!
