The sauce had no flavor (doubtful Marsala wine was used in this recipe that I make often) and only a couple thin pieces of mushroom came in "my sauce. The carrots were NOT glazed as advertised, only steamed and flavorless. Mashed potatoes were creamy, but, again, no sauce from the chicken marsala to accompany it. The View here is absolutely gorgeous this is kind of tucked away Hidden Treasure of the marinas around here. The food here is amazing and is five star quality. When my fiance and I started our hunt for a wedding venue, we were so overwhelmed by all the options. We met with Kelli at MacRay on day 1 of our search, we kept looking just incase, however after at least 15 other tours and meetings with various venues and coordinators, we kept on coming back to MacRay. The venue is amazing, it's right on the water with a beautiful view of the harbor. The ballroom, outdoor space and even bridal suite were all incredible. The food and drink options were very reasonably priced and the service from bartenders to waitstaff were everything we needed. No other location had as much to offer as MacRay, above everything else MacRay has Kelli. Kelli was so helpful during our process, she was attentive, responsive and incredibly informative. As someone who overthinks and tries to overplan everything, Kelli really made this process so easy. During our month long search she reached out to us many times just to check in where we were at in the process, she answered all of our questions and even helped give us advice when talking to other venues(she could tell she was our first stop lol!). My fiancée and I are on completely different schedules so we only have availability to meet with venues on weekends. Surprisingly a lot of venues do not have weekend visit times(?). Kelli had no problem accommodating us and had us come in on Sundays when she knew we would both be free. 10 of us went for Thanksgiving dinner. Several of us had been there before and raved about it. This time was horrendous !! The wait was more than an hour and when the food arrived it was cold. We never saw a waitperson to refill drinks nor was anyone to bus the tables. The only saving grace was the bartender Marcus who began to assist on the serving floor. We have gone here for various holidays for almost 20 years. We went here for Thanksgiving and all I can say is that we were beyond disappointed and disgusted. They decided to serve family style this year and failed miserably. The food that finally did come out was cold and tasteless. The waitstaff were overwhelmed as was the kitchen staff. No refills on drinks. The only lively, hospitable person there was the bartender. A manager named Corey left me a voicemail saying they were calling everyone who had reservations to offer them tickets to up coming events, which I appreciate but of course when I called him back and left a voicemail he still hasn't returned my call. Note to management: Please do not serve family style EVER again, it was awful. We won't be going back to this establishment again. Due to Covid 2021 a large family Thanksgiving dinner at home would not be possible. Instead, a small group (4) of us decided to try Mac Ray Harbor's Thanksgiving dinner. The view was beautiful, the staff was amazing, and the food outstanding. They took care to give us a safe and fun dining experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day. I've been to Mac & Ray's tons of times over the years and had good experiences. This is only our family's second time here for Sunday brunch. It will be our last. The host is old man (i.e. The Grinch) who makes us feel so unwelcome that we won't put up with it any more. He grumbles about customers. Immediately greets you with "do you have a reservation!?" When we say "no" he takes his opportunity to school us on our apparent lack of foresight. I look around at the DOZENS of open tables and he says "on a day like this - most people want a view." We tell him we don't mind and he grumbles over to a booth. Then I hear him yell "tell Chef we have over 50 walk-ins!" There were 54 people in the restaurant (I counted). Apparently our money is a different color than other people's. I asked our waitress about him and she said "He's one of the managers. Brunch is his 'thing'." I tell her that he could use some hospitality training and she says "Nothing is going right for him this morning, or whatever." Look, I get it - but that needs to be transparent to guests. I hear him tell the table next to us how people are "so rude" because they don't honor reservations any more. Then I hear him say how they "got stuck with 3 prime ribs they had to deal with." Another example if a 'manager' that has no idea how to LEAD. After all - this gem is who trains the staff (or not). I've never written a negative review on Yelp. But they should probably stop sending us offers and coupons if they don't want our business. After all - we only pay full price anyhow. $90 down the drain. Well played Mac & Rays. We docked at Macray's this year. We wanted the whole full service marina experience our first full year on Second Mate so we sprung for it on the boat show special. It's not all it's cracked up to be. I sent this email to them this morning and I'm done with them. For good. I can get shitty service and lies for a lot less than $4000 a season. *I understand certain binding or insurance may be required for marine contractors to work on site at most marinas. But as you will see below, Macray's intentionally glazed over this requirement. If they had told us they had a hard fast rule about contractors, we still would have docked with them. I hope their lie was worth losing a customer and getting A LOT of bad reviews about it. Dear Macray's: I'm writing to tell you about the final reason I needed to never dock our boat with you again. Yesterday you turned away the contractor who came to shrink wrap our boat. We have literally waited a month to get this appointment. Our boat is sitting exposed in unseasonable weather. My husband now has to take a day off and come do it himself. We were told you turned him away because he could not produce his workmans comp policy. We were also told when signing our contract at the beginning of the year that Macray's would "look the other way" when contractors came to work on boats in the marina - as if there's even a reason to look away! So basically you bait and switched us and told us several other lies to bring in a new member. Other issues we encountered in our first year of membership: drunk parents with their minor children at the pool. Under 18 and diapered children in your spa. Lack of marina service when maintenance was needed. Your pool boys taking cash to look the other way when non members came to swim. Underage drinking. And the only gas dock on the lake where the employees expect to be tipped for NOT pumping your gas. Low level, over promised and under delivered services at every turn. You brag about cable and wifi services. Neither worked well and sometimes not at all. Even after you said the wifi was "fixed" we still had a stronger signal on Belle Maer's wifi. It took you 3/4 of the season to figure out putting a password on your wifi would restrict the use from mon members. Really?! I've not made complaint about any of this previously. But turning away our needed shrink wrapper was the last straw. We will NEVER DOCK WITH YOU AGAIN. and I'll do my best to ensure everyone knows exactly why. A VERY dissatisfied member. read more

So, My mom had received a gift certificate good for two Sunday Brunches, good for $40. I said oh! I'm jealous! I want to go! That was a year ago, and finally the expiration date was approaching and she gave them to me. I had always had the impression this was a nice place to go. A fancy wedding venue, so I assumed the food would be good. I looked at yelp, and lowered my expectations. We decided to give it a shot anyway, we had 2 free brunches and not much to lose. My boyfriend, 5 year old and I walked in. "This place is so fancy" Says 5 year old. To us it looked like its heyday was maybe in 94...And they haven't changed a bit since then. We sit down, get the rundown of what was available and make our way to the buffet. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, eggs bennedict... Then came the lunch choices, chicken picatta with a thick, gloopy yellowy sauce, cheesy potatoes (the kind you find at a family reunion... except they were kraft cheese sauce orange..and cold) Mashed potatoes, some type of white fish, two types of pasta, a penne with alfredo sauce and a fettuccine noodle with a red sauce. At there end there was smoked salmon with some assorted toppings, store bought pound cake, some muffins and rolls. There was a bored teenager carving prime rib, and making omelettes to order as well. Next was the salad bar, pretty lackluster. Though, there were 4 types of lettuces that all looked fresh. Standard toppings, tomatoes, carrots, croutons, parmesan, feta cheese, cucumber and some strangely whitish candied walnuts. On the other side there was some cut up melon and pineapple, lavash bread and tabouleh. So after we grab our assortment, we have a seat and dig in. First was the piccata. I should have known by the look the sauce would be gross. The lemon sauce was very thick and artificial. Mashed potatoes were ok. I had a few bites from the prime rib, which had good flavor but I had a an end piece so it was a little tough and stringy. More like an overcooked pot roast that your mom would serve. Penne was very bland and the alfredo sauce was chunky and not very warm. Cheesy potatoes were also bland. Not a horrible flavor but the color was slightly off putting. My salad was good, It was a spring mix lettuce blend and the raspberry vinaigrette was tasty. My favorite thing was the tabouleh, which was fresh and full of flavor. Boyfriend had the smoked salmon, which he said was ok. There was a lemon dill sauce for it. He also tried to eat the eggs benedict... tried. There was no cutting into the bottom muffin. Hard as a rock. Also, there were some random black olives on top, for seemingly no reason. Daughter loved the sausage, eggs and waffles. At least one of us was satisfied. After we sat there for a while without our plates being cleared, we went for dessert. Decent selection. Cookies, a chocolate cake, chocolate mousse with some candy corn colored shavings on top (festive, right?) 3 types of cheesecake, and some mini cannolis. We got back to the table, had to push away our dirty plates, and dug in. Everything was alright, but nothing blew us away. We took a few bites of this and that and called it a day. Time for the check, I presented our gift certificate to the server. Good for 2 buffets, $40 value. She took that and came right back with the bill. I noticed that she had discounted one adult buffet, and the $12.95 for the childs. I guess I should have argued, but I said forget it, and just paid for one adult buffet, which is 19.95. After taxes it was closer to $23. I threw $31 in the book and we left, disappointed. I could have gotten the three of us a way better meal for $31. I'm just glad we didn't all have to pay full price. Needless to say we will not be returning... and If I'm ever invited to a wedding here, I will eat before I go, and I would advise you do the same. read more

Didn't care for the place. It our first time there and the place is run down. There are holes in the chairs and sawdust falling out of the holes. The chairs are also stained. The food was soso. It does have a beautiful view but other than that, didn't care for the place. Please get some new chairs. As a trained banquet server and bartender I was really unimpressed. I attended a bridal shower here and while I really loved the event I attended, I would not have an event here. Pros: complimentary valet, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and an amazing view. Cons: Unprofessional and uncoordinated staff. Food is average at best. My biggest issue with the staff was just they didn't seem to have any idea what the were doing. Our table was practically on top of the hors d'oeuvres table so that the back of several chairs were touching it, not allowing guests to walk behind us. Servers had to constantly reach across guests (instead of the standard practice of serving from the left and clearing from the right). The salad was standard, plain iceberg lettuce, two small cucumber slices, two cherry tomatoes, and a sprinkle of shredded carrots served with frozen rolls. The pasta course was farfalle pasta and a blush sauce, on the bland side but still yummy. There was then a long wait between the pasta course and entrée course. As there was a choice of entrée I was stunned to see the servers each taking two plates at a time from the kitchen serving one table at a time the first choice (fish) and then later finishing each table with the second choice (chicken). Most venues put lids on their plates so an entire table (8-10) people can be served by one server at one time. It's bizarre. The only plus side was that the food was hot. The whitefish was cooked well, not underdone, and not dry. I personally did not like the sauce, but still found it edible. The potatoes were delicious and the vegetables were very good, lightly steamed and nicely seasoned as opposed to venues that drown them in butter. I was really surprised, and felt bad for the bride as the manager continued to look at her watch and remind the bride how long she had the room until (4). Not long after 3, while the shower had in fact been ending and some guests were leaving, the staff began taking all that they could from the tables, even the tablecloths and the walls separating the rooms were opened revealing the wedding set-up they were working on for that evening. We felt really rushed to leave which I think is just inexcusable for an event. It's in a very nice area, and the space has a lot of potential. Food was average, I hope this was just a hiccup and that they can do events better in the future. I however would shop around before considering them. read more

Two stars because the drinks weren't warm and the bag didn't say Purina. Was at the North 42 for a quick weekday lunch.....it was far from quick. One person waitstaff. She actually came over to our table twice to introduce herself and ask if we wanted drinks. We ordered drinks the first time! I think she was high or really had some mental issues. I think there was maybe two other tables at the time.. ironically, I find out my sister was there on that exact day with the exact waitress and had the exact experience. You can't judge a restaurant by its sole wait staff, but the food was no better. The bread was good- that was it....I'm not a picky eater, I eat grease ball burgers anywhere...I couldn't finish that or my fries...I had to literally go near the kitchen to find her and hand her my credit card to let her know we had to leave. I go to many restaurants and this one actually upset me. I was going to call and complain, but I thought "what if this lady really needed this job?"... Well, I can tell you she hurts the business and the food shouldn't bring anybody back. The food used to be good years ago when Jeff Baldwin was the chef.
