They find many adventures along these trails and see wildlife similar to what I see driving 3 hours to our place up north. It's right in our backyard! They've always taken such good care of their parks. There's bike riding, kayaking, jogging, mountain bike trails, walking areas, and seriously the best nature you'll find within an hour and a half radius. The trails run all through Sterling Heights and end up in different parts of the city, or they'll lead you straight back to the Dodge Park or their awesome nature center!

We came across some giant maple leaves, truly impressive, gave me a laugh comparing them to my pup. You have an available viewing dock, canoe/kayak drop in (although it looks to be currently closed), picnic tables, charcoal grills, benches, restroom, trash receptacles and a small children's play area. The parking lot is small, but honestly perfect for the needs of the park, and the cleanliness of the area was acceptable (although I cannot speak for the restrooms as I did not enter them). Overall, I think this is a great small park for the residents of the attached neighborhood/s, and great for River watching, but didn't quite fulfill my need for exercise and dog walking.

We ended up booking and delighted how things turned out. The wedding and reception were planned together. What happened next was immeasurable. The day before the event we walked the grounds with Lois (staff) and how things were to be done. All this to accommodate the wedding party, staff, photographer and more. The ladies were able to use a special room to get ready the day of, completely with snacks and Mimosas and more. The guys, well we came ready, so the bar was open. The grounds for the outdoor wedding was clean and ready, the great weather made it even better. After the ceremony we were isolated for pictures that were ready before we even had to ask. All while our guests enjoyed the open bar and time to mingle. The food as many of our guests said was the best and largest presentation ever. The salad bar was huge and a lot of varieties for all. Our main courses were the Chicken Picata, Pasta, Salmon, breaded Shrimp, Prime Rib(carved) and a lot more. Not one complaint or issue. Later that night, sliders were served. If you went away still hungry, you may have a issue. At the end of the night, the staff helped us cleaning up, specifically our hand made centerpieces, all with a smile. I submitted an inquiry on their website Monday 7/7 and got no response, so I called on Tuesday 7/8 and left a message with my email and phone number and also stated I submitted the inquiry online. When I still did not get a response I sent an email on Wednesday 7/9 to the email on the website (RENTALS@SIMPLEADVENTURES.NET) with the inquiry. After all of my attempts I still have yet to receive a return call or email. Needless to say I am disappointed in this company, and they lost out on 5 kayak rentals next weekend!
