Well we got there early and once it became our start time, noone was there. I ended up calling them to make sure someone was coming, and I was able to get a hold of a staff member who said they would be there in a couple of minutes. Well that turned into about 15 minutes later. Once the staff member came, they got the kayak on the water, showed us how to get in and gave us life jackets. The actually kayaking was nice and the weather was good that day. Basically two ways you can kayak through a nature area or by some huge lake houses. Both are obviously beautiful choices. So overall, it was a decent adventure but just did not like the fact they were late in getting things started.

All of the brands that CFC carries, are all top-notch, quality brands. I appreciate that they believe in everything that they carry - you know you're getting something good and not junk just to sell junk. I did a bike fit with Larry several months ago, and I am overdue for a maintenance fit as I prep for a big race in the next few months. Larry is incredible to work with. Not only is he an amazing human being to begin with, he is full of knowledge and an excellent teacher who wants your participation and understanding in the bike fit that you're getting. I felt very comfortable asking all of the "stupid" questions, and working with him to figure out exactly what I needed to get a good fit. Whether you're new to riding, or just haven't ever taken the time to get a professional bike fitting, I would 100% recommend scheduling a fit with Larry to make sure that you are comfortable and getting the most out of your bike. He walked me through riding technique, pedal options, and how to properly line up my cleats and shoes. I recently purchased a new bike from Clever Fox, and Larry again spent another two hours making sure the bike was adjusted perfectly so it fit comfortably. After getting my first flat, I called Larry and he connected me with Carson, who helped me out even though the store was closed so I wouldn't miss a day of riding. The level of knowledge and service from everyone at Clever Fox has been outstanding. I'll definitely be coming back for all my cycling needs.

I was initially a little turned off that none of the employees were wearing masks - even though most of the customers were. But, they told me they'd take a look at my bike -- and let me know a few days later that two spokes would need to be replaced. I picked it up a week or so later (again - no masks) and it seemed to be okay. A few weeks later - more broken spokes. Took it back in (this time masks - at least for the counter people)... got a call a few days later and was told the entire wheel/rim needed replacing due to corrosion. He apologized for not catching it earlier... and did a complimentary fix on the spokes this time. I ordered the new tire/rim a few days later and was told it would be in in about a week. Three weeks later - I've heard nothing. I get it, the pandemic has slowed things down... but 3 weeks vs. the 1 week I was promised was a bit much. So I called and was told it was back ordered. Again, I understand that -- but, I feel good customer care would've called me around the initial estimated date. -- Shortly after I left this review, I received a message from Anne Marie Gealy: "We are sorry you felt it necessary to bash us. I'm sure your perfection will overcome any issues you have with any other issues ahead" I didn't bash Main Street Bicycle. I left an account of my experience there. I feel it was polite and true. I am disappointed about my experience there and hoped my review would help improve the experience there. I feel my review was fair and explained the issues I had with the shop. Mrs. Gealy's accusation is unfair and her brash response is undeserved. Instead of contacting me to address and maybe fix these issues would go a long way to turning a bad experience into a good one... instead, my already disappointing experience with this bike shop sinks even lower. So if you want a shop to not properly diagnose your bike, "fix" your bike for it to have the same issue a couple weeks later --- when you'll have to throw more money to get it fixed properly... then have one their people attack you in messenger... then Main Street Bicycle is for you!

We thought going to Wheelhouse to rent a bike or get the tire repaired seemed like a good idea. We showed up just as they were opening at 11am. The employees pull out the rental bikes and lock them up as part of their opening routine. My friend and I were waiting off to the side when the employee came over and said we were in their spot for their bikes. Ok, so we moved to a different location, she came over and said you're still in our spot. Ok, we moved further away, only to have her come over and tell us to move again. I get they have spots to put the bikes, but after the 2nd time, couldn't she have just pointed out a place for us to wait instead of telling us to move yet again? It was pretty irritating. So they open at 11, but apparently they cannot help you until they've pulled out all their inventory and locked it up outside the shop. We asked about a rental and she just kept saying - I'm busy - I can't help you until I'm done here. We asked well how long are you going to be? She didn't know, but just kept saying I'll get to you when I'm done. We said - well what about getting the tire fixed - how long do you think that might take? Same answer. Don't bug me, I'm busy pulling all the bikes out, and I don't know. Wow. What a crazy process. You show up when they open - but then stand around for 25 minutes while they prep the shop. Maybe do that before your opening time so you can actually HELP a customer when they show up at opening time. Finally, they were done and my friend asked about renting a bike and they showed her the options. She picked one and they got her set up. She was irritated because she's a seasoned biker and they treated her like an idiot. Again, some basic communication with her would have let them know she knew how to bike and that would have helped with set up. Finally, they agreed to fix her flat while we were gone. When we returned her flat was fixed, we returned the rental and were on our way. We were all really frustrated at the poor customer service and kept laughing about how poorly they handled the situation and the long wait just to get waited on. The bike was fine and the flat was fixed, thus the 2 stars.

My personal tips: spring for the custom length paddle unless you truly need the adjustability. Always get a cover for transporting your board, and, if possible, one for your paddle. You'll need them.
