A treasure! We are theater nerds and have over the years seen loads of on-the-road Broadway plays. Last year we moved to central Georgia and were not looking forward to tackling I-95 to Atlanta for the play season, and then we found MLT. The theater is a comfortable smaller venue, lots of parking, easy in and out. So far,we have seen two plays and have tickets for three upcoming. (Season tickets) The performances, cast, costumes, and sets have been at the same level, or above, everything we have seen in larger venues with traveling companies. To anyone who thinks theater is out of budget, we recommend Macon Little Theater you will not be disappointed. read more

A hidden gem!! So hard to find local non musical productions... we found it here. A large well kept theater. Spacious lobby area, happy box office employees, not a bad seat in the house, lots of parking, a variety of productions in the works. Season ticket holders are the main supporters....locals this is a great place to support. We will be driving from Greensboro for more productions. read more

I've seen five shows here(9 to 5, legally blonde, Avenue q, the wolves, and young Frankenstein). this is the best community theater I've ever been too. sound travels well throughout the theatre. the shows quality is always top notch in technical levels and enter ones. I have a theory about movies and specific dishes at restaurants. When they are overly hyped in my mind as being the "best", it is often hard for it to live up to that expectation. And even if it does, how blown away can you be that it simply just met your expectation. But at the same time, when I go in with a tempered expectation, that is when something can really blow me away. I was not really sure what to expect when coming to Macon, GA, to the Macon Little Theatre, for their production of Ragtime. But whatever expectations I might have had, I was absolutely blown away. The theatre itself seems to have plenty of parking. And the lobby is big enough to hold a full house of their seats. You can see by the cast pictures on the wall how many productions they have done over the years... it is quite a few. The box office process was very easy and the people working were very friendly. The theatre area itself was about what I expected. But the stage set-up was unique and the acoustics were incredible. And as for the show itself... WOW! Who knew Macon, GA could have so much musical theatre talent?!? The song before intermission sent chills through me. Then as you go out in the lobby for intermission, and they have coffee in demitasse cups for everyone. After a stellar 2nd act, the cast does something I have never seen before. They all walk through the crowd, go to the lobby, and stand in a line to meet all of the people who came to the show. You can tell they really want to be a very personable and unique theatre company. Since we went on opening night, we were also able to enjoy some champagne after the show. All expectations exceeded on my experience on this night in July. I loved going here more than I expected. To be honest, I probably never would have gone to the theatre if going to a play hadn't been assigned to me by my English professor. The specific play I went to was "The Shadow Behind the Flame: the Anjette Lyles Story," about a series of murders that actually took place in Macon. My main goal was to get through the play and write an essay, but I ended up enjoying it a lot. It's not a big theatre, but it was large enough. Good sound, good acting, and I know from the brochure a number of the cast do plays in Macon regularly. I'm not going to lie, though. There is one thing I didn't like -- the smell. If you've ever visited an old church, then you know what smell I'm talking about. Well, take that smell and crank it up to 11 and you have the smell of the Macon Little Theatre. Of course, even with my dislike of the smell, the experience was really great and I plan on going back to the theatre sometime soon. read more
