My mammogram was not by any means gentle. I'm 70 and have been going to this breast center every year and the one on Hoover. Don't know the Tech's name but instead of asking me to remove the right side of my gown she just pulled it off. Than she stood there looking at my breast like maybe she was sizing it up for machine, felt very uncomfortable. Than she put my breast on the machine and the compression was pulling my chest wall with the breast.. It hurt, I told her she didn't say a word. Between each X-ray she took quite a while before she took each picture. We're all nervous when we get the X-ray but when the tech is taking a long time looking at each X-ray, its normal to wonder if something's wrong. Now I know she's making sure it's a good X-ray but I've never experienced the long delays between xrays, the chest wall being pulled with the breast being put on the machine. I've had some discomfort in previous mamograms but this hurt and she just didn't care when I told her. She was not gentle, wasn't concerned about it hurting, and making sure the chest wall wasn't practically pulled onto the machine with the breast. It's like she handled the breast like it wasn't attached to anything. Just pull it out and throw it on the machine. I hated her demeanor while she was doing it and looking at me before she started. I did have my stomach pulled up to my esophagus when I had 80% removed because of cancer. Don't know if that's what she was staring at after she pulled my gown off. A very painful, uncomfortable mammogram. I've never complained about any before except having to go back because tech didn't take good X-ray first time. Will ask for different tech next time. read more
