In the never ending debate of "where should we eat?" Have you ever said to your spouse, "it's only an hour away."? I doubt it. But living in East Mesa that is something my wife and I have said about Mackys. Definitely get wings(medium sauce is awesome and not too spicy) and then from there I would recommend The Duke burger or The Cowboy Melt. If you have room for dessert, the Southwest Cheesecake is amazing. They are very dog friendly on their patio and provide water bowls if needed also. read more

After getting out of Mesa for the day we were delighted to find Macky's upon a recommendation from the visitors center. The location is great as was the pleasant decor for this hometown cafe. This place had good ratings on Yelp so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their "famous Bonnie's chili" with a side of cornbread and a Caesar salad for pickup. Server was nice and the pickup was quick and easy but the salad sucked. Worst Caesar salad I have ever had. It was nothing but 1lb. Romaine lettuce, 5 tiny bland strips of chicken with a lite sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and absolutely no Caesar dressing! What's a Caesar salad w/o the dressing (and accompanied garlic bread I might add)? My chili was ok but was room temperature (had to put it in the microwave in the hotel). My cornbread was kinda hard in the middle like it had been sitting out for awhile. And when I called to complain they offered an apology but I was still gonna have to drive back to the restaurant just to get the salad dressing and it wasn't gonna be worth my time. Customer service has forever died in my opinion. Businesses used to offer refunds and or a free meal when they'd make a mistake like this. I've eaten here 5-6 times and am usually happy with the food and service. Today however we didn't even get served. We had our dog with us so sat outside in the dog friendly patio area. No one else was out there so I checked in with the hostess to make sure it was ok and she said sure, someone will be out in a minute. 25min later we were still waiting for water and menus. Obviously they forgot about us. I'll eventually go back, but not when they're busy and won't risk setting outside again. Too easy to be overlooked. read more

The bacon cheeseburger was so good the bacon was immaculate and so soft, i had the pink lemonade as a drink and it had so much flavor packed into it. They have a really nice outside patio (dog friendly) and even though we weren't hungry, once we saw the food going by we decided to order something. We ordered the cheese curds and they were amazing. Hot and gooey - they really hit the spot! We also decided to split the Cowboy Melt. It was so good! At first I didn't think that I would like it on the sourdough that it was served on but my mind was quickly changed. It added a crunchiness to it that I really enjoyed! But to be honest what really stood out and made this a five-star place was the service.
