Good service, mediocre food, and filthy ambiance. Salads are made of shredded iceberg lettuce, the least nutritional food possible. The neighboring table was cleared and the server left the broom and dustpan to keep us company. Meanwhile, don't look down; the dirt is caked in the corners. We're running out of options in Payson. read more

This must have been an off-week for everyone. Normally this place is better, but this visit was just weird. Our actual server only visited our table twice. First to take the order, and then second to see if we had enjoyed our meals. In between those times, we saw every other server. None of them delivered the drink I ordered. In fact, the water glass even sat empty for most of the meal, until one of those servers gave me half a glass from what she had left in the pitcher. No, this isn't normal for them. I hope they use it as a learning opportunity. 3rd star is for the salad they removed from the bill. read more

I moved to Payson about a year ago and was craving onion rings. I did the Google thing and they came up there and someone said how good they are. Everything I have ordered since is very very good. I have always done carry out orders and someday maybe will actually eat there. read more

Open on Sundays, outside dining works for us and our pups. Recently updated this menu while keeping favorites like their veggie wrap.

Up North with friends had to try this spot after viewing the reviews. Oh was not disappointed the food was off the Chain. The Philly Sandwich was to die for......definitely getting it next time my No Bun Bandit was delicious. Michelle our waitress was sweet and patient. read more

Stopped here for a bite while heading back to Phoenix. Great selection of food. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I recommend the Cowboy Melt with onion rings. Sat on the patio with our 3 dogs. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Some of the best service I ever experienced at a restaurant. Portions are decent and prices reasonable. I will make this place a regular stop while I'm traveling through Payson. read more

We're back! Yummy lunch served up quick. Macky's Club and sweet tater tots. We will keep coming back. :)

Burgers were great. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Only issue was the kitchen put the wrong cheese on my burger, but that was definitely not the end of the world. read more

Terrible generic bland food and service. Pass on this place. Not worth it at all. Service not good either.

Family friendly restaurant. We had two toddlers in our party and they did have high chairs for us (prior restaurant we stopped at didn't). The outdoor patio is pretty and fills up pretty quick. I ordered the New York Philly with fries and a milkshake. Definitely a great combo. The philly was perfect and full of flavor. The Au jus dipping sauce was a tad bit salty in my opinion but still good. The Cowboy melt is a similar sandwich but with Anaheim green chilies and maybe a great option for those that want a little more spice. Might have to try that next time I'm in town. Our server was friendly. 1 less star for two reasons. When I walked in the hostess asked us if we would like to dine inside or in the patio and then proceeded to tell me to find a spot in the patio after telling her our preference for the patio. I didn't have the time or energy to find a spot that could accommodate our party and decided to sit inside at the table that I saw could fit us. Secondly the hostess abruptly asked us what we would like to drink before we could even sit down. l would have liked for them to have waited till we strapped our kids in the high chairs and everyone got settled. Not sure what the rush was. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Great tasting food and relaxed atmosphere. read more

Good place to eat. We were just passing by Payson. The menu seemed ok, nothing popped out that made us want to order it immediately. We ordered the wings, cod fillets, & the crispy chicken salad. The cod came with (Soup of the day) & sweet potato fries (you can choose from several options). Our food was good overall. Dessert menu looked delicious but we were too full. read more

My wife and I took the fam here, good soup... Chicken Poblano. Good carrot cake. Good service.

This restaurand offers terrible burgers. I ordered bacon buger with lettuce wrap. By the time i got mine it was so hard and taste was so poorly done, the lettuce was slightly brown. Next day my husband and i went there in person i ordered fried chicken, thinking they can't screw up chicken, oh yes it was terrible the crust was so thick and hard the meet itself was tough. My salad was ok........ read more

Plenty of seating. Good food and good service! Easy access off corner of Main and Hwy 87

I can't say enough nice things about this place. The waitress took the time to talk with us. It's pet friendly and the food is superb!

We picked Macky's solely based on the large outdoor pet friendly patio on a return trip to the valley, but we received much more than just a pet friendly patio! Micheal, our server, was incredibly attentive keeping our glasses full and making sure the dog bowls he brought over were still full of fresh water. He didn't even mind when our misbehaving puppy jumped up on him.. thank you Michael! The food was also incredible, from our zucchini appetizers, to the chili dogs bigger than my kid's faces, and the hamburgers everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! Thanks for a great lunch, we'll definitely be back on our next visit! read more

Terrible service - the waitress was nonexistent and the food came out cold. The chicken sandwich was bland and had a hair in it. One of the other servers came around and said she'd let the waitress know but instead of comping the food or even apologizing she brought the check out and said have a great day - the only time she stopped at the table after taking our order. read more

We embarked on our first family road trip and our first stop of the day was Payson for lunch. Traveling with two picky boys and my husband we had to find a place all of us could find food. My two boys both had the cheeseburger which they told me was really good and that the fries were the best ever. My husband had the club sandwich, he said it was fantastic. He is a really really picky person when it comes to food. Do when he says the sandwich was fantastic, that means a lot. I had an Avocado BLT minus the bacon- it was delicious. All the ingredients and produce on my sandwich and in my salad were so fresh and crisp. I would definitely come back here again. read more

It was clean and the food was good. The kids meals were a bit over priced for what they got but the rest was reasonably priced. The burger was huge and the fries were great. I am briefly in Payson for a business trip and asked a few locals if there was any good local restaurants they would recommend. They suggested this place and I am glad they did! I got a bowl of their chicken and rice soup and it was really good! There was plenty of chicken and the consistancy (thickness) of the soup was perfect! Even though I arrived close to their closing time all of the employees were very nice! My server was super sweet and helpful! I will definitely be back! read more

We decided to dine at Mackey's as it was close to our accommodations in Payson, plus we saw that burgers got high ratings. I was in the mood for a great burger, so bring it on. We arrived on a Monday evening so it wasn't too busy. We selected seats on the patio since the weather was beautiful outdoors. Our menus arrived quickly from a friendly server and we placed our orders for beers. The menu was extensive and the burger selection good. I ordered the Verde Burger that had Anaheim chilies, pepper jack cheese, and the usual condiments. Instead of fries I ordered the low-fat pasta salad. My husband had the Caesar salad with chicken. I wanted this to be an amazing burger but to me it was just average. It was HUGE but just not jam packed with the flavor expected. My pasta salad was a bit light on the veggies, and it had too much dressing for my taste. The beer was ice cold and delicious. My husband's salad came with just two small pieces of chicken. Which was disappointing when you have to pay extra for it. Last, the outdoor environment was a bit lacking. I would have liked to have a few candles on the table or something to add a bit of lighting. It was pretty dark out there. Service alone added a full star. Quick and friendly servers are special. Great job there. I would be willing to go back and try something else on our next visit. The desserts look amazing as do the fries! read more

Excellent dinner option in Payson. Nice big place with lots of tables, very family friendly. We ordered: Small order of mild wings (6): came with a celery stick, 1 baby carrot and ranch dressing. Wings were really good but the honey flavor was a little overpowering (good nevertheless). I would have appreciated a couple more celery sticks and or carrots. Macky's hamburger: hubby said it was good but a little too much relish for his taste Nuggets and peaches for toddler: Costco style nuggets good as expected. Peaches on the other hand I was hopeful to get fresh fruit not a cup of Dole. I would recommend switching dole with seasonal fruits Since we were not expecting anything super fancy I'm giving them 4 stars! Check was $50 including two sodas read more

Stopped in our way through town and very happy we did. We were able to bring our two Pomeranians (one feisty) to the patio and enjoy the sunshine. Each dog was brought a water dish and welcomed. :-) We had delicious food (grilled chicken sandwich & philly steak) and shared a slice of homemade apple pie. Service was wonderful-- we will surely stop in during our next pass through. read more

Showed up to a ghost town on a Saturday night at 745. They close at 9. Our server acted like we were totally inconveniencing them by coming there for dinner. She didnt care one bit. Never asked us how are food was and dropped the check halfway thru dinner. Was planning on desserts but if the employees are gonna push us out like that then I'll spend my money elsewhere. This is exactly the kind of place we hope to find when we stray from chain restaurants! Wow! It was as if the chef was checking with my palate before cooking! The steamed veggies were exactly how I like them!! I usually order battered cod, take a couple of bites and eat the rest as steamed fish. I'm not a huge fan of fried foods, yet the batter steams fish quite well. The battered cod here was so good that my last couple of bites were the full battered! It was the best I've had in years! The staff were friendly and it's definitely a place I'd love to return to again! read more

Great food! We stop here twice a year on our way to retreat. We always have great food and great service . Cute decor.

This is possibly the best place to eat in Payson. A number of married guy-friends make a special stop-in to this place, with only a little protest from their wives, because this place is famous for two things -awesome sandwiches and burgers, and pretty waitresses. Yep. I said it. Macky's is known, at least in the circle that brought ME there, for pretty waitresses. The decor is a cross between southwest and hokey, but the food is very good, and we know you will tip your pretty waitress. read more

Macky's expanded menu boasts new look. Healthy choices, gluten-free, fresh ingredients...not. The burgers have always been standard (frozen patties thrown on the grill) but decent. Salads fresh and boring. Institutional dressing. Chilly night so opted for beef barley soup for a change. With cornbread. Assured by server soup was made in-house. If cans of vegetables in packaged beef broth with barley thrown in a stock pot qualified as 'in-house,' no thanks. Tasteless & bland cornbread. I've beaten spoiled by Mogollon Moose. read more
