I'm old and have been grabbing slices at Mack's since I was 11. That was a loooooong time ago but what hasn't changed is the quality of their food. Don't believe me, I was there on a random Friday night well after Labor Day and they were packed. One of the things I also like is that they haven't updated it much. Brings me back to those days all those years ago when I could barely climb up one of their counter stools and fork over my 35 cents for a slice (45 for pepperoni). Worth noting is that notoriously famous Franconi's, their neighbor that boasts nazi stickers on their refrigerator, was empty. Not sure if it was a result of their food or their politics but I doubt they'll be back next year. Can't say the same about Mack's who's 50+ year tenure on the Wildwood boardwalk is thriving and delicious. Thanks for the memories (& the pizza). read more

Freshly made, it was a little doughy, a little cheesy, and had sweet tasting tomato sauce. I liked it more than my kids. It reminded me of a good shore slice. Some say it's the best slice of pizza you can get in Wildwood. At $9 for three slices, it was a good deal. Four stars overall for our experience. On our second leg of the challenge, we went to Sam's Pizza Palace, my kids' favorite. Even though our slices were not fresh out of the oven, they were crispier, had a little more cheese, and had a sauce that was not so sweet but tasted more like the tanginess of tomato paste. I'll have to admit I like this slice better. At $8.25 for three slices, it was a great deal. Five stars overall for our experience. On our third leg of the challenge, we went to Sorrento's II. The slices were larger, more doughy, more cheesy, and with a similar taste profile to Sam's... but we didn't like it. Bigger is not always better. My kids got bbq chicken slices. One liked it. My husband and I had a great dinner at Mack's one night on the boardwalk. They have outdoor seating on a deck in the back which was really nice. The pizza we got was half sausage and half with peppers and sausage. It was so good. They only have pizza and you can mix and match any toppings. It's the same large size. Employees are unfriendly and cold. I get the impression it's kind of a cultural thing as they are all foreigners but still you're in America. Get with the program. Be hospitable. Also, our waitress was very slow. I went in to get a soda bc she was nowhere to be found and the guy upfront very coldly was like, "what do you need?" As he just mean mugged me. I'm like a soda. Not sure where our waitress went. He then got her and she got me a soda but then wouldn't hand it to me until I got back to my table. It was all very bizarre. I won't go back but not like they care. When i went there 2 year ago, i ordered a drink and a slice of cheese pizza. The pizza was so so greasy that my hand was drenched in oil, the pizza was falling apart, and after 2 years, i still have not gotten my drink. I also cannot stand how the pizza sause comes out of a TUBE! that tube must be so moldy and rancid. I would NEVER go there again. Would NOT recommend. read more

This is good but not great pizza - my wife swears by this place, she swears a lot in general, but I think this place is a tad overrated. The crust is thin, even for thin crust pizza, which makes it nice and crispy but some may not like it. The sauce is good but nothing otherworldly as some might have you believe. They have a reasonable size dining area, and a small outdoor seating area out back. The staff are friendly for the most part. The prices are standard for the boardwalk, the most noteworthy thing is that fountain sodas are $2, which is half what it is at many other pizza places. We have ordered delivery as well, again my wife swears by this place, but the delivery can take for-eva. So like order it now if you want it next Thursday.
