I was drawn to the outside when we drove by, so I looked it up on yelp. Parking is limited (small lot) but there is street parking and it's a short walk from the boardwalk/hotels. I got the beet salad with shrimp - tasty and a pretty presentation- I wish the beets were in larger pieces. My daughter's clams were very good. I love that they brand the burger bun and my husband said it had good flavor. Portions were a good size. The lobster bisque was disappointing- both my daughter and I thought it was way too thick. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. A fun side note: in the bathroom, you can sign your dog's name on the wall. Take a pen with you to the potty. read more

Close location to the convention center! We actually ate here two days in a row because there wasn't much open that looked appealing. The restaurant itself is very cute! The bathrooms are adorable with dog themed wallpaper that everyone writes their dogs' names on! They even use branders to put paw prints on the bun here! We didn't drink any alcohol but there is a bar and what seems to be a large selection. We got the ceaser salad both visits because it was so good! And enough to split between 3 people as an appetizer! The pizzas are delicious! Especially the Buffalo chicken which I failed to get a picture of. I would actually recommend sticking with the pizza as the burgers weren't very flavorful and neither was the chicken sandwich. Staff was fantastic! Very attentive! Our experience at Copper Dog was Fabulous! I wish I could give 10 Stars but by I guess 5 will have to do until Yelp changes it. We walked in through the back Patio area and it is Impressive and Super crisp and Clean! Everyone looked like they were Enjoying themselves and it honestly looked like a Commercial! Very Cool and Relaxing "Vibe" The hostess was Very nice and greeted us immediately, she was dressed nicely and asked about our preferences to dine in or Outside on the Patio! We dined inside at one of their intimate booths and the TableScape was Nautical and very nice but not too crowded. A neat shaped bottle of Fresh water was brought over and our drink order was taken! Riley was our Server and she made some really Great recommendations on appetizers. My husband ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and the wings were flavorful and delicious. Portion sizes are Decent and each wing is a Nice size..... I'm not a fan of when you get wings and they Look Grossly Huge and You have to sadly wonder what kind of steroids this Chicken had in it. This was not the case here. Plentiful portions and decent size food! for our entrée, we shared a large barbecue chicken pizza and it was so delicious and cooked the perfection and there was plenty of chicken on the pizza and it was tender and delicious and so full of amazing flavors I really appreciate it the craftsmanship that they take with each menu item. This is beyond delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more items from the menu. I think next time I will try the fried chicken sandwich I saw that coming out to go to many tables and it looked absolutely scrumptious. Hands down best restaurant that we went to while on our family vacation. From the moment we arrived to us leaving everything was outstanding. They have a cute outdoor patio with bar that is covered in the front, inside was also very nice and cool decor. Our waitress was very friendly, polite, attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. They have weekly/daily specials. They do have a small parking lot, lots of street parking near by. I don't love any of the restaurants in wildwood, to me, they are tourist traps with mediocre food at best that are overpriced. This place is special. We wanted good sushi and it was our last night in town so we pressed our luck, trusted the excellent reviews and gave it a shot. I'm so happy that we did! The staff here is amazing, they aim to please with real genuine smiles and off the charts hospitality. Dora our server was professional, warm and on top of her game. The food is fantastic. It's not a ridiculously large menu, but what they do have they do with pride and beautiful presentation. The shrimp cocktail rivals any high end steak house at a fraction of the price. Order the smoked burrata just for the "show" that comes along with it. The kids loved the massive individual pizzas and the sushi was top notch. They had no problem omitting items from a dish and making accommodations. The restaurant and the patio are immaculate, like eat off the floor clean. The fun part is, this place is literally all about the dogs and they encourage you to add your pup's name to the bathroom wall collage of puppies. This is the one and only restaurant in wildwood that is an absolute must return to for me. read more

We LOVE LOVE LOVED our dinner and overall experience here last night! This restaurant is a much welcome addition to the restaurant scene down the shore. The menu is extensive and interesting. They also have a big wine list and great craft cocktails. The inside is chic and hip! There was a guitar player the night we were there, which really added to the vibe, but the sound wasn't too loud which we appreciated. I had their Magnolia cocktail, which was vodka, lemonade, and muddled blueberries. It was refreshing and not too sweet! We shared the bang bang shrimp to start, which was 10/5 stars! OMG was it delish!! I would get this every single time. The sauce was amazing and the shrimp was perfectly fried and so crispy. For my entree, I got a spicy tuna roll and their chicken potstickers. Both were delish! The potstickers are one of their signature dishes, and I can see why! It was so flavorful! We didn't have room for dessert, but look forward to trying it next time! This place is new off the boardwalk in Wildwood so I had to try it. Inside was pretty and ac pumping. We ate outside. There are dog water bowls outside which I wish were closer to the street. There is a formula for creating a popular restaurant these days, I suppose. A list of boxes for you to check. Hipster name, trendy food, slick decor. Maybe you have a cultural hook, like being dog-friendly or some other social touchstone. We've all eaten there, and they're fine. Decent food. Good ambiance. Attractive staff. It's all good, I guess. But rarely great. They're like chain restaurants with only one outlet. Uninspired food in a soulless environment. Like the airport version of some once-great food establishment. This was my experience at the Copper Dog. I guess this is what amounts for personality now. The Mud Hen. The Surfing Pig. The Dogtooth. The Surf Dog. It's like they were all designed using AI and a Pinterest account. Deviled eggs, chicken dumplings, bang bang shrimp, and a fried chicken sandwich on a brioche roll. Throw in pizza, tacos, and sushi, and you've covered all the bases. Congratulations. You've built another meaningless restaurant. You should probably open six to eight more just to be safe. It's not that there is anything terribly wrong with the Copper Dog. It's fine. Everything was fine. The decor is lovely. Well done. The staff was friendly and well-trained. The food was reasonably priced and properly prepared. So why the long face? It could have been any suburban restaurant in America. There's no reason to go there outside of the fact that you've run out of places to go. It scratches an itch, but it doesn't fulfill any desire. There's no passion. No real reason for being other than the fact that Americans are fat and lazy and wouldn't know good food if it bit them. We ordered two glasses of decent bar wine, which at $14 a glass, could have withstood a heavier pour. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer which was just okay. Crisp at least. Then my chicken sandwich came out almost immediately after, a good ten minutes before my wife's meal. I don't like coleslaw, so I ordered it without. What I got was a season-less piece of fried chicken on a roll with a spurt of sriracha aioli. No pickles. No lettuce. No flavor. No fun. The fries were just okay--frozen shoestring potatoes sprinkled with fancy salt. It was all just okay. Everyone seems to have a pizza oven these days and so every new restaurant has pizza somewhere on the menu. I wish this was a positive thing, but they're rarely any good. My wife got the Caesar salad pizza, which she claimed to enjoy, but as she pointed out, it wasn't nearly as good as what I make at home. It looked like frozen pizza dough to me. Bar pizza. I did see quite a few burgers walk past our table and I must admit, they did look impressive, but how many burgers can you eat? I doubt you'll be terribly disappointed if you happen to visit The Copper Dog, but don't expect to be blown away either. There's nothing original about any of it. Just a rehash of ideas other people had, like it was created in a lab based on focus groups and restaurant consultants to provide the greatest return on investment. Admittedly, restaurants are incredibly hard to make successful, so to reach even a reasonable level of mediocrity is no small feat. The fact that they do nothing egregiously wrong can seem like a small miracle at times. I really do appreciate a nice ambiance, so good restaurant design is important. But I'm increasingly disappointed by the lack of originality and passion in the food in Cape May County. We don't have a food scene here as much as we have real estate investment opportunities. I'd really like to see that change. The Copper Dog is unfortunately just another example of restaurateurs who care little about the food. It's all about the vibe. The chef is interchangeable and entirely irrelevant, and there's nothing you will find here that you haven't already experienced. But if you happen to wander in, you won't be disappointed. You just won't come back. read more

If you're looking for a family friendly place for non seafood eaters then this is the place for you. We went on Monday night for dinner without a reservation and were seated within 20 minutes despite it being fairly busy. Kaylee was our server and she was knowledgeable about the food and very attentive. We ordered appetizers since they were $10 on happy hour special. We had the bang bang shrimp, chicken potstickers and scallops wrapped in bacon (these were excluded but we wanted them). All were very good. I had the diamond roll which was fresh and had great flavor as well. The mango sauce on it gave it the right amount of flavor that I didn't need soy sauce. The tomato soup was tasty and the lobster grilled cheese had plenty of lobster meat in it. My husband got the ribs and liked them despite them not being falling off the bone but this is not a southern place so his expectations were met. The French fries were crispy and delicious as well. My brother got the chicken Parmesan which was fried perfectly. The sauce and pasta were good as well. He did not care for the garlic bread since it was sesame. My sister-in-law got the friend chicken sandwich which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our drinks were also very good and a nice addition since most places in Wildwood Crest are BYOB since it is a dry town. We recommend the dirty Shirley since it was so good we will be duplicating the recipe at home. A definite must-check which on vacation here. read more

Honestly the chef should've never allowed those muscles to come out of the kitchen & seafood should never smell and never taste like seafood! Asked for spicy marinara. They gave me a hot pepper flake shaker. It's not that hard to spice sauce up in the kitchen. I have bad seafood. I'm done with seafood in that establishment, we ordered pizza 5 out of a 10. We came to the Copper Dog for the first time this year. I remember seeing it last year and I thought it looked adorable from the outside with the cute outside bar so I wanted to try it this trip. I called ahead of time and made a reservation and I'm happy that I did because the place was really busy around 7:00 p.m. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant. They have daily specials which I didn't know my husband went to the bar and got a beer while we were waiting and a pint of Guinness for only $4. We would go back again for their daily specials that they have from 3:00 to 7:00. We had a great seat in a private booth which was nice and quiet. There was a guitarist who was playing and singing and it added to a nice environment. Our waiter was great! He was young but so attentive, I wish I remember his name. As an appetizer we split one of the sushi rolls which was just okay and I wouldn't get it again I prefer our local sushi place better. For an entree I had the soft shell crab sandwich which was very good I liked the Broche bun that it came on. My husband got the pepperoni pizza which was just average. Some people in our party took dessert home which they said was delicious and they would definitely get it again. Upon first impressions was how crisp and clean everything was. After asking the server it turns out they've only been open a few months which explained everything. The space spans the block with an outdoor bar section that was dog friendly with water bowls for your furry friend. They had live music the night we were there that consisted of a solo musician who played everything. The food is your typical American fare and perfect for a beach town. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was delicious being perfectly crispy while not being dry on the inside. As expected the pizza is made to order and given our party size of 10 resulted in those who ordered them having to wait for them while the rest of us had our food. Attentiveness of the server slowed down a bit as the place got busy. Overall worth eating here and I attribute the rest of the issues and hiccups to just being relatively newly opened and getting up to speed. read more
