There was a substantial amount of flavorful meat (you can also get a chicken gyro). And, the tzatziki sauce was good (it needed more dill, but I can say that about many Greek restaurants). I got sweet potato fries on the side, which were earthy and tasty without any real seasoning. Unfortunately, Joey B's isn't in a great spot, at the end of a strip mall, off a busy road (Van Dyke). I only found it because of Yelp...I would have driven right by and never known there was a restaurant there. But, the locals seem to know they have a good thing going here. The mid-afternoon crowd was decent, which is encouraging. But, the bartender had to also wait on all the tables, which led to spotty service. I do plan to return here, at least in part because I want to be able to say that one of the best gyros in the area isn't in Greektown: it's right here, in Sterling Heights.
