I called his office and was able to get an appointment in short order. I went to my first visit and let me tell you it felt like I had stepped back in time. First of all, Dr. Simone's staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They call you personally to remind you of appointments. They always have a smile when you go in. It's just great. Next, I met Dr. Simone. He is an old school doctor with new world knowledge. He takes his time to listen to you. He discusses your different options. He addresses any concerns you might have. He does not rush you. Make no mistake he has been doing this for a long time and is extremely knowledgeable. He came up with a plan for diagnosing and treating my allergies. I will start out positively by saying that I LOVE the Doctors/nurses/and most staff of this office…read more(especially Tasheen Silva!) My incredibly irritating problem is specifically with the insurance coordinator, Cecilia (Cecile?). I have been a patient In that office for over 23 years. She consistently waits until the 11th hour to get approval for a procedure the next day. This is unacceptable, on every level! This causes extra stress for the patient, who already worrying about a surgical procedure! And what about the times she makes mistakes? The last two surgical procedures that I had scheduled, she not only was late, but then messed up paperwork, as well! To add insult to injury, last month, she wasn't even working the day when my case needed immediate action! Supposedly, nobody else in the office could figure out how to do her job?!? Does anybody actually know? My one surgeon's office says they have never encountered somebody who outwardly demonstrates complete and total disregard about patients' welfare. Furthermore, certain doctor's offices say that it's the NORM when trying to get anything approved through Cecilia. If this has happened to me no less than 3 to 4 times, it begs the question, how many hundreds of mistakes is she making per year? I hate to leave this bad review because I do enjoy the office and the doctors, but maybe it'll FINALLY spur the office manager into action. Having surgical procedures is stressful enough without having to worry about the insurance nuances. Thank God my surgeon has a competent and patient staff to do THEIR best to get it taken care of under the wire (read: Do Cecilia's job). In what world is this ok? I've complained a few times in office, buy I have yet to see any changes. I really wish the office manager would find out why she is incapable of doing her job in an efficient and timely manner, or hire somebody that can. At first who ever was on the texts was quick to reply. They then disappeared and I never got a call back from my multiple messages left on the office line. I will not be going back. Loved her after my first visit. 3-4 days later, she calls my Psychiatrist and my mother (no…read morerelease, just listed as emergency contact- I am an adult in my mid-20's) telling them I need to be admitted into hospital immediately, without seeing me, speaking to me, or examining me. The last person to receive a phone call was myself personally where she reiterates that I need to be admitted to the hospital immediately and that I need to be taken off of all my psychiatric medication immediately- for which she is not the prescribing doctor. After being hurried off the phone, I contact my mother and psychiatrist to try to figure out what on earth is going on. I speak to both of them, call her back, speak to her office staff and am assured she will return my call when done with her patient. She does not return my call. I go to my follow up today looking for an explanation for her actions- which she cannot provide. She offers a contradictory timeline of events and actions and says, "I deal with so many emergencies, it's hard to keep them straight." Her office staff rolled her eyes when my mother asked what the *** happened and gave the implication that this is a regular occurrence. She accused me of being an addict, having no judgment, and not knowing what I was talking about. Personally, I found her demeanor erratic, spacey, uninformed, and generally confused- perhaps like she was the one on too many drugs rather than me. Her actions led me to call into question not only her personal judgment but mostly her medical judgment. She promotes homeopathic remedies for psychiatric disorders which can only be managed by medication and offers medical advise outside her field of expertise. Additionally, as icing atop the cake, she was 45 mins late seeing me for my 1st appt and 25 for the second. Apparently this is her norm. For homeopathy, go see her. For real medicine, look elsewhere. I am seriously contemplating reporting her to the board.
