He also had his receptionist slam the receptionist window in my face because I asked them to wear a respirator in an ongoing airborne pandemic. The receptionists also threatened to call the police on me because I asked for a letter saying he was refusing to do the examination for disability and refusing accessible accommodations. This is the only time I have ever reported a medical healthcare worker to the Florida Dept of Health as well as the AMA. This is not a doctor that should be allowed to practice and should never be assigned to vulnerable immune compromised patients from the social security disability office. I was thankfully assigned a different doctor for my evaluation who did mask with their staff and was the exact opposite of this office. I would say run away but if you are disabled then get out of there as soon as you are physically able to do so. Never ever go here. If I could give a negative review I would of below zero I would.

She had not seen him in five years due to Covid and my father's passing. The girl on the phone never bothered to tell me that they move their office. So we showed up and to the wrong place. The office is still listed in the phonebook under the old address. When I finally spoke to the office and asked where they are now she insisted that she told me that they moved , which is not true. When I finally got my mom to the correct office that day a little while later we were then told he refused to treat my mother because she lived in assisted-living. So I spent the whole day running around with an 87-year-old woman from office to office only for them to tell us they refuse to treat her . I don't know how this is possibly legal all because of where she lives. Sounds like discrimination to me

ALL requests are immediately and efficiently handled. The physician returns phone calls promptly and staff members get me instant answers to questions. The office is immaculately clean as well as beautifully and comfortably appointed. The staff is pleasant, professional and highly competent. Few physicians realize how much damage an inept staff does to their reputation and thus their income. The Office Manager, Joe, is simply amazing, I am ashamed to say that, if I still owned my business, I would try to hire him. I have some difficult health issues and have received the best and most conscientious care possible. Dr. Lipari correctly adjusted my medications when I first became his patient and recently took excellent care of me through two bouts of Covid and a complicated and not overly successful hip replacement resulting in painful bed sores. He is available 24/7 and watches every detail of my health issues. He is likable, compassionate, professional and never arrogant, a not uncommon trait in many competent and highly respected physicians. An average appointment is an hour and he is never rushed. After researching local oncologists, I chose to visit with Dr. Begas. I called and made an…read moreappointment after pressing the dedicated "new patient" prompt. The scheduler was pleasant and provided me with most, not all, of the information that I needed to know prior to my visit. She said she would send me a new patient packet to complete prior to my visit, tho, I never did receive it, so I did not have time to review the paperwork. Unfortunately, because of scheduling conflicts, I had to call back a 2nd and 3rd time to finally secure an appointment. Each time, the scheduler was pleasant, but and only provided me with most, not all, of the necessary information that I needed. They each said they would send me a new patient package, but never did. But, not ONCE during any of those conversations, did any of the schedulers explain to me that I would not only be billed for my copay (which, of course I knew I had to pay), but, that I would also be responsible for an amount more than 3x that for a "facility charge" as the Dr. is "affiliated" with BRRH. When I arrived, Rose gave me a few papers to complete, which I did standing at the main desk, rushed, as there were other patients waiting to check in. I never did gt to read the very loosely stated paragraph that says I am responsible for Dr and hospital charges. As a layperson, I interpreted that to mean that IF I was admitted to the hospital, I would be responsible for the hospital charges, which, of course, I agreed. 6 weeks go by and I received a bill for my copay, which I immediately paid. A week later, I received another bill for and additional $157.47!!! When I phoned and asked why, after she placed me on hold for over 5 minutes, Evelyn in the billing department, very matter-of-factly and with a condescending tone, informed me that the additional charge was due to the relationship the Dr. has with the hospital. I then spoke with Stacy the supervisor who, with the same matter-of-factness reiterated the same information. She did say she would "discount" my bill by $50, but the amount is still more than 2x my copay. I was emphatic that THIS INFORMATION BE DISCLOSED WHEN SPEAKING WITH THE NEW APPOINTMENT SCHEDULER so that the potential new patient can make a personal decision whether or not they want to see the Dr. I would NEVER have made the appointment. I would have gone to one the the other hundred oncologists in PBC, Patient beware! As an aside, the Dr. ordered a test for me and I never received a call to schedule it. It seems I fell thru the cracks. I even called back to ask about it and the girl I spoke with said she'd look into it and call me back, but, never did. Maybe this practice is just way to big if they can not keep track of their patients and their tests. Thank God I was only there for a consult and did not require serious treatment and attention.

I've often thought of leaving in order to find a doctor that answers the phone when I call but I'm sure I never will. Dr. Patel is not only thorough but also cares about the health of his patients. I asked to turn on the air conditioning so I could breathe. There are two women at the reception desk and they are very unhappy when you ask them questions. They look at you in such a way that you feel guilty. In the doctor's office, all the doors are open, both to the examination rooms and to his office. That is, you can easily hear everything while sitting in the waiting room. When I was called to see the doctor, I was taken to the examination room, one of the women at the reception came, took my blood pressure and told me to wait. I waited another 15 minutes. After that, I was invited into Dr. Patel's office; he himself came and invited me. I didn't even understand why I went to his office, but I went. The chair was opposite his desk. He started reading me questions about my vaccinations. Did I get this shot, did I get that shot, etc. The door to his office was open, so the people waiting in the room could hear all my answers. I asked why he was asking me about every vaccination. Wouldn't it be easier to give a form to new patients, like they do everywhere, and I could answer all the questions while waiting for my appointment, and no one would hear my personal medical information. After all, there's HIPPA. I got the impression he didn't like my question. He raised his voice at me and yelled that this is how he works and that things won't go that way if I keep asking questions. I could tell he hated me as a patient. He started asking why I came to him and said since I'll have different insurance starting in the new year, I should go to my doctor and let him treat me. My blood pressure was 132... I asked him to give me something for it, to advise, since my blood pressure fluctuates a lot and can be high. To which he replied that my blood pressure is normal... I asked for an electrocardiogram, to which he told me that it would be expensive... well, it was $200, maybe less. He also refused. When this horror with questions in his office ended, he told me to go to the examination room. I went in and sat down to wait for him. He came rudely, listened to me for a minute, no more, and left. I felt like I had come to the prosecutor, not the doctor. I felt some kind of terrible shame when I left the examination room. All the waiting patients looked at me, as if I had done something terrible. My son was the day before. There was also a terrible survey in his office, then the doctor had not yet finished chatting with his patient before my son's appointment. And when he finished his conversation, he came into the examination room where my son was sitting, and not even a minute had passed before the doctor finished the examination. My son wanted to ask questions, but the doctor had already left. I don't recommend anyone go to this terrible doctor. I didn't feel Dr. Patel was professional towards me as a patient. He wrote a referral for a blood test, but my son and I didn't do it because we don't want to deal with such a terrible doctor anymore
