Always fantastic food and service. So friendly. Staff is great. Everything we've had has been wonderful

Everything was really nice! The atmosphere was laid back and inviting. The food was all really good! I personally think the pasta fagioli was a bit watery, but all the other food we had was amazing. I got the prime rib special and it was excellent! I wish the plate was a bit less compartmentalized with separate dishes, but that's just a personal preference. The booth bench at the tables along the wall are a bit high, it was a bit hard to reach the table and my knees barely fit under it, but that would really be my only complaint! The service was fast and excellent as well, I overall will definitely be back again! read more

The food is absolutely amazing and the five cheese pizza with the lasagna and breadsticks appetizer with the spinach dip. I definitely recommend this place. The service was a little slow, but that's OK. It was worth the wait. read more

Machiavelli's - Five cheese pizza - Italian Near Me - Bristol, Tennessee

Went to dinner last night with the five of my friends, last night and it was not a good experience. They only serve beer, no liquor or wine. I don't know why that is because they used to. I got a Cesar salad with chicken, but there were more croutons in the salad than chicken. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. He said the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. I have to say we did get good service from our waitress. When we got our checks, I happen to notice they added a 20% gratitude to our bill. Good thing I did check because most of the restaurants we go to don't do this. The waitress did not tell us about it either. I wonder how many people don't notice this and also leave them an extra tip. We will not be back that's for sure. read more

Have dined in several times...always happy with food quality. Have ordered via DoorDash too. This time, we ordered via DoorDash...three custom pizzas and ones that we have had before and really liked. This time, all three were burned on top and tasted it. They were dry and not good. We were quite disappointed as we had friends over and had told them how good Machiavelli's is. We probably won't order again. read more

Machiavelli's - All three pizzas were burned and tasted dry and burned. Very disappointing - Italian Near Me - Bristol, Tennessee

Was very anxious to try Machiavelli's and went with my husband and granddaughter. The food was not good at all. My granddaughter and I both ordered spaghetti with meatballs. The sauce was very thick and had no tomato taste at all. My granddaughter stated that to her the meat was overcooked and I absolututely agree. The server was very sweet and did her job well but that didn't overcome the food that was barely edible. The amibance was absolutely nothing special either. Definitely will not go back. read more

Excellent service, pasta was great. Expect food that's better than you expect! Don't look for fancy though. Think Roma cafe

Do not under any circumstances eat at this restaurant. They served me rotten food! Apparently, their standards have went completely out the window because not only was their a rotten tomato on my pizza it was cold and flavorless too. Somebody called Gordon Ramsey because this is a complete kitchen nightmare! Will be reporting this to the proper authorities. read more

The food was okay, but the service was unacceptable. We had reservations to the Paramount and told them this before we ordered. They brought out our food 5-10 minutes before we had to leave. Its ambiance was nothing impressive and made me feel unwelcome. Will not be returning anytime soon. read more

I was one of the first people there for dinner, I was seated and waited 15 minutes for a server to come. They didn't have a wine list because it was being updated. I never received a water refill, and never even asked if I wanted more wine. Some of the waitresses were dressed like they had been working in the yard with skimpy shorts and teeshirts, highly unprofessional. Won't be back. read more

This is a cute Italian restaurant. It is honestly a lot bigger inside than we first thought so they have plenty of seating and probably a good place for a big group of people! The food was also pretty good and SUPER good portions for the price! I ordered the penne all vodka and added chicken to it! All of their pastas come with a salad and a breadstick too. The salad was good and the Italian dressing was also good. The breadstick wasn't my favorite, it was a little dense and I was also sad you had to pay for bread before the meal unlike some restaurants were it is complimentary, but honestly would pass on an order of them. My pasta was really good and saucy just like I like it and I'm glad I added chicken for a lil extra protein in there. Overall I enjoyed my food and I think the prices are great for the amount of food you get! read more

Not bad for frozen pizza dough! Waitress was very good, fast service, refills kept up. The only good thing here. Only reason why 3 stars. Pizza was not good, being from NY, this was not freshly made pizza dough. Not even close. read more

This is my favorite local pizza place! Little hidden gem that has some of the best white pizza ever, I just turned it pink! The crust is nice and thin and crispy, the white sauce is a creamy Alfredo, and they use quality cheese so it stretches forever! I like to mix mine with the tomato sauce and add smoked Gouda to the top aaahhhh! YUMmmm They have a great bottled beer selection as well, nice liquor selection and the staff is really nice! I wanted to share my experience with everyone and hope all visitors have the same. IT WAS GREAT! The food was excellent, we had the All Meat Pizza and a Cesar Salad. The wife went on and on about how good the salad was and then when the pizza arrived...OMG...how good is that!!! The service was the best, I believer her name was Kelsey. Anything she could do to make our experience better, she was there. We were on vacation and I must say she was probably the most attentive restaurant associate we encountered over the ten day period. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AAA+++ read more

My family has been eating here for a couple of years now. The first time I ate here I found it promising. Our server was awesome! We ordered a pizza and mixed it up by making a pink a sauce and ordered a pasta. The pizza was the star that night. Since then, I have ordered a few different menu items other than pizza and I was just flat out disappointed. Also, other servers have not been as good. The last time my family went in we were with a friends family so it was a big party. They seated us in the back room and basically forgot about us. It took FOREVER to get our food and when we did, most were not overly happy. The pizza was ok but it's just not as good as the first time I had it. Maybe that is just my taste buds changing over the past couple of years, maybe not. All in all though, based on how long it has taken to get food the past couple of times, and how disappointed everyone I know has been with anything other than pizza (and appetizers of course) I just can't give this more than three stars now. Now my wife on the other hand has a completely different opinion as she absolutely loves the pizza. I just found it very salty the past couple of times and also found the crust to be a little off. Again, my tastes may have just changed over the past couple of years as I don't live in the area like she does. Oh, they also have a nice selection of beer and the atmosphere is nice as long as you are not at that table in the back room. Would I eat here again, of course. It isn't terrible, it's just more of a pizza joint to me. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you like pizza give it a shot. Especially on Sundays when they have a deal on pizza. It is still the best pizza in Bristol in my opinion. I forgot to mention the Italian Nachos. Tasty... very tasty. Yeah, try that as well. read more

While we didn't indulge in the pizza offerings (tempting), Machiavelli's was a welcoming refuge for two weary travelers who just arrived ravenous from the 5 hour drive from Nashville. The place was packed with imbibers especially since it was a Friday night with some tented street festival going on right outside the door. We made the drive to Bristol for the Gentleman of the Road festival so this was a welcome surprise. Once we sat down to a table, a friendly server dropped off some menus and took our drink order. Red wine served in plastic cups with a bit of Tom Petty on the jukebox made me smile but the Greek Salad ($7) and Sun Dried Tomato Hummus served with tortilla chips ($6) were satisfying. They were nice enough to split the servings for us too. Service was efficient and consistent. The crowd was definitely snockered but fun and my only regret is that I didn't order a pizza... TIP: Make your own pizza selections and an appealing lunch menu were on the menu. Prices were affordable too. read more

Good appetizers and make ur own pizza selections. Started w/the spinach cheese appetizer which was delicious. Created our own pizza w/pesto, sausage, anchovies, smoked gouda. The crust is different - like a cracker almost. Contrasts the toppings quite nicely. Also got the dessert, a creative pumpkin cake covered in chocolate icing w/tootsie roll stem. Great servers who are attentive and helpful. Fun environ with live band. read more

I have dinner at Machiavelli's every Friday night. The food is excellent and the drinks are well prepared. I would recommend them for their sandwiches and pizza and for their margaritas. Waited over an hour for a one topping pizza and one pasta dish. Service was below average, and no apology for the long wait time. Asked several times for condiments and waited a long time for those too. When we paid the bill, it took over 10 minutes. There is no excuse for this, especially on a weeknight with few customers. Will not be back! read more

Easily my favorite restaurant in Bristol (both TN and VA). I'll admit, I'm a fan of pizzarias that offer kind of non-standard topping choices (spinach, artichoke, etc.). That and I just really enjoy not only their pizzas, but every single dish (hummus, etc.) I have had from here has been extremely good. Also, being a beer connoisseur, I don't see how anyone could help but love the place. Not only to they have a pretty darn good selection (both on draft and in bottle), but they are very open to looking into acquiring recommended beers. If you are a skip-to-the-end kind of person, then here you go. Go to Machiavelli's. Now. And tip well. :-) read more

I've eaten here before many years ago but I thought I would come back and try it again. The atmosphere was nice, I sat at the bar. This was around 9:15 at night breadsticks were good pizza was pretty decent a little burnt around the edges. That's why I gave it three stars, Pizza tasted good, it was pretty decent because it was burnt that's what knocked the rating down read more

Good service. Nice place, but very bad food. I had a salty and greasy grinder ( sandwich) and my partner had a plane lasagna.

I love this cozy corner of a restaurant and it's candle lit dining area, as well as the bar and how its hopping if they have a live band playing. Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. The white pizza is my favorite. I normally am not crazy about pepperoni, or much red meat in general but whatever it is about the meaty pizza is positively astounding! Every single bite is worth the cardiac arrest that may ensue shortly thereafter. There's always room for the Italian nachos too... and beer of course. Thank you Machiavellis and your jolly good staff for one of the most chill restaraunts in town! read more

I'd give it 0 stars if possible. We booked the private room for our anniversary dinner with 20 friends. 1st manager we spoke to apparantly doesn't know what she is doing. When I went on the day before the party to order food the 2nd manger and owner had to completely redo what she had wrote down. We show up for the party and 1st manager is working. Proceeded to claim credit for things being fixed. Strike 1. We get in the room and the large bowls of salad dressing have no utensils. We wait and wait. One of our guest have to go ask for them finally. Drinks were a fiasco we had to ask for multiple drinks over and over before they finally came. One person asked for a glass of water 4 times. Tea looked weird and was very watered down. Beers came and had so much ice in them they couldn't be consumed until the ice melted. Slow refills. I spent the whole evening trying to make sure everyone finally got simple things like refills or utensils instead of enjoying my dinner. We were paying for everything except people's drinks. They bring us the check and its drinks included. Took forever to get them to fix that. Then we ask were our military discount is especially since the owner told us just the day before that yes they would do a military discount. 1st manger proceeds to get rude and tell us we aren't getting one. When I tell her the owner said they do it she still argues. When I bring up the horrible service I'm basically told I'm wrong and the waitress was fantastic. I'm sorry but if you have 20 people all complaining of the same thing your waitress failed big time. Refused us the military discount added a $41 tip even after we had major issues with service then had the audacity to add a tip on to people individual drink tabs that were no more than $3-$4. I love love love their take on homemade pizzas. Plus I never expected the Hummus so good and well prepared.

Best pizza in town. Great toppings available and the specialty pizzas are great combinations. They usually have a special pizza on the chalkboard when you enter which is always good. Other favorites are fruit and cheese tray, spinach dip, wings and Italian nachos. All the pasta dishes are great as well. The pasta fagiole and ceasar salad are the best around. Don't judge this restaurant based on appearances. Go inside and eat. Go beyond the pizza menu!!! I've had the pizza and it is quite good. I have been to Machiavelli's several times in the past few weeks both during the week before a fly tying class with a friend and Friday night with my wife. The outward appearance is one of bar food. That is not the case. The food is quite good and the wait staff is very responsive and will talk to you as much as you talk to them. We had the manicotti and the lamb bolognese with goat cheese special. The sauce on both was excellent and the goat cheese really set off my dish. Now for the encore. The dessert presentation was totally unexpected. Keep in mind this is a bar like atmosphere. We were always to full on food, beer or wine to order dessert but last night had the taramisu and black Russian cheese cake. Both were great and beautiful. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the area. read more

Really happy! Found this place on Yelp and all you Yelpers did not disappoint. The Italian food here rivals what we find on the East Coast. I had the Pasta Fagioli which was rich in a tomato broth, over flowing with meat and vegetables and with the right amount of pasta. My kids had Pasta and sauce.....but it was not a run of the mill sauce....well seasoned! A proper marinara! Wife had pasta and mushrooms in a light sauce.....none was left in her plate! Well done Machiavelli's. Service and staff were very friendly as well! read more
